This tip really helps for root crops such as Parsnips and Carrots. Stoney soil splits/folks the roots so it can be very challenging to get straight veg.
Bless her!! I'm 36 and dealing with similar soil In a rented space. I will be doing this for all root crops thank you so much. If the lovely woman is Still alive she is a blessing to us all! If not we continue this brillance
Excellent video. I garden on Chilterns clay and flint, lots of flint, over chalk and I have used a similar method for parsnips and main crop carrots and it works well for me. I differ in that I sieve my garden soil through a fine sieve and use that to fill the holes. I am going to steal your method of using two fibbers though!
This was fantastic from beginning to end. Watched the harvest vid first so spoiled it for myself lol but fab result and very detailed process. Thanks for sharing 😊👍
Perfect. I did a simalar thing planting my radishes this year I just took a scoop of peat moss and made a pater in my bed and sowed the seed in. i got some big ones

Great idea! So much less labor intensive than trying to sieve out the rocks!
Brilliant

Where's the update? Lol I was enjoying that video. It ended too soon.
Update? I'd like to see the size of the Parsnips grown in those holes?
