Hoop House Build - Cost Less Than You Think
This brassica enclosure was made from scrap wood, a friend gave us some left over netting and heating pipe they didn’t need so the cost was a pack of screw and some wood preserver. Who said a decent allotment takes a lot of dosh. 👍

Just what I needed. Thanks 👍👍

Needle valve set TOO RICH!
I have one and it's amazing how well it tills for being so small and it's size is just right for flower beds.
Great little machine they are. I still have mine. It originally had 6 tines on it and good hefty ones too , not like the flimsy little ones you see today 😢. I lost the two outside ones so now only have 4. The little briggs 3hp engine was well able for the 6 which you never see now, but unfortunately it gave up, so i put a Honda clone on it. A 5hp one. It goes great but its harder on juice.
Brilliant little saw for limbing, pruning and firewood. I’ve got two pro saws but the 181 is the one I pick up most often unless I actually need a bigger saw.
looks perfect as it was for a trellis.
Great idea! So much less labor intensive than trying to sieve out the rocks!
Brilliant
My new chain won't fit the bar does not fit into the hole on chainsaw. Any ideas?
I have one, after more than 10 years, and a general cleanup it's like new...a mini beast arround the house! 😍🙋♂️✌️It's the perfect chainsaw for begginers! 😍
Bless her!! I'm 36 and dealing with similar soil In a rented space. I will be doing this for all root crops thank you so much. If the lovely woman is Still alive she is a blessing to us all! If not we continue this brillance
thank you.
Very sweet. I just lost my mom and how I would like to build her one of these so she too could be happy.
Vow,I got the same tiller. It's a beast.
best video for parsnips
Good video but operating a chainsaw EVER; without eye protection at the very least is a No No !
I will try to do it with Woodglut plans.
When you are installing the bar and chain its a good idea to pull the bar upwards with your other hand while tightening the chain. And then continue to pull it up while tightening the bar nut so the bar remains in that up position when you are ready. While you are using the saw your bar will try to go upwards anyway and the bar nut friction cannot keep it tight enough, especially with these small saws with only 1 bar nut, so the bar will move up and then the chain tension will change. Quick test: grab the bar, tighten the chain and then let the bar go, see what happens to the chain tension. So, keep the bar pulled up while you tighten everything and the end result will be better. When you say you have seen the chain loosen in use this is what you actually see. Its the bar that moves and loosens the chain. Give it a try, you will see there is a difference. Greetings to all.
Here is a tip don't use chip.wood it's shit its internal wood. Use osb3 board it's tannalised meaning treated so won't swell. It's waterproof to an extent then felt it get a good 10 years no issues
Got about half way in watching a video admiring shitty planks of timber
I bought a Merry Tiller in 1979 that looked like that. I put it in car trunk to make gardens for friends. Back then they were made in Marysville WA with Sheffield steel tynes from GB.
Must be a POMMIE , thing, cutting a small tree and have it fall on you
😂😂
LOL
Good vid, but you may want to remove your hand from the spark plug cap, when starting it up, if it shorts out, it'll give you a good jolt ! Lol.
2021 Great video buddy. Thank you.
i cant understand your accent veryy well, could you describe the process in writing maybe?
I'll be using a Merry Tiller for the first time in the next week. Thanks for this instuctional video from the other side of the pond.
Looks like mine. Do you know oil/grease to use for the chain, and how much?
SAE 30 oil in chain case and engine.
Lovely machine, that Merry Tillers are fantastic machines
Can someone pls tell me how to replace the cord? It snapped when I pulled it lol it’s an oldie tho
Hi great video very useful thank you 🙏 what file size would you recommend for the chain (that comes with the saw)?
Just go to a store and try different files on your chain, if it fits down inside the groove without staying proud ABOVE the cutting edge of the chain = You're good. If it rages over the top of the cutting egde of the chain = No bueno. The point of the file is to bring your file strokes not just INTO the chain, but UPWARDS, so you get a rake angle below the cutting edge, otherwise you might as well use a handsaw :)
Crud... I was just getting some chainoil, I could have checked for file size while I was at it!
I went there today to get a Oilomatic 1.3mm wide 14" long chain with 1.3mmX14" bar (our chainsaws are 1.1mmX14" bar originally) The file you want is 4.0mm, both for 1.1mm and 1.3mm 14" chain!
Thank you!
Where's the update? Lol I was enjoying that video. It ended too soon.
Must be a warm climate there. I would enjoy this in our summer months. Even though shade cloth would still be needed here in 7B. N. CAROLINA USA
Fantastic build 👍. Thanks for sharing. Robbo

Thank you very much for this Video I had been given this Model by a friend without a manual and had been starting it incorrectly and still using it but common sense told me to tune in. lol
great video, thank you !
I don’t understand why people find it funny to destroy peoples property. There’s no need for it
what was that secret ingredient?!
A tiddler !
My 1st chainsaw, & that choke had me confused. Had no clue about the danger of cutting with the tip. Thank you for making this video🤙🏼❗️
I know its a semi professional saw, but if you have no idea about the top quarter 'kick back' zone of the bar then you shouldn't really be operating a chainsaw. Pretty sure a basic chainsaw course at your local agricultural college doesn't cost much. In my professional days I saw 2 people with facial injuries. Not even counting the numerous other injuries caused by limbs under tension etc. Treat these things with respect and always have your arm locked straight onto the top handle if possible.
Just watched your video and wanted to say thank you it's helped me alot
Hi TurboUK Glad this helped 👍
