anyone know if you go above 6-8psi on this ECU if you would need to upgrade to a megasquirt ms2 or some sort of different ECU? As well do you need upgraded injectors?

Coolgio13 from 1994-1997 the miata was 1.8. Anything before is 1.6. Also the lettering on the cam cover of the 1.8 is raised while the 1.6 is set in.
Hey man i like your videos very much. I'm a fan from philippines love your cars. By the way you should told your friend if he spend that money on those turbo kit for his miata and it's a stock n/a car that engine will not last for long because that engine is not design on a turbo if he want's to have decent power to his car he should find a stock miata turbo engine and swap that n/a engine to a turbo engine so that i will last for long time.

You don't chop the rail, its just the pinch where the two pieces of metal connect. no structural rigidity was lost🤙🏼

in all fairness miata mx5s are all turbo ready rounded valve seats steel head gaskets hardened pistons and the like most cars are not turbo ready and without that stuff you blow motors.

If both surfaces are machined perfectly flat, then carbon buildup alone will seal them.

No turbo flange and elbow gasket? That's just wrong. It WILL leak.
Michael they are machined surfaces no need for a gasket.
I know the manual said no gaskets,. Machined or not they will warp with heat. Iam not critisising youre jobb.
Michael people have had these turbo kits running for 5 years + without leaks. I think flying miata would of addressed that issue if they leaked.
Carbon buildup does the job, and very quickly too. I have no gasket between my downpipe and turbo, and it's not even dead flat and it doesn't leak at all
Can I just buy all the parts and go to a local mechanic and tell them to install it for me. I'm a dumb ass I can't do This shit.
