Great review 😊 I just received a little bit different color combination of this watch, 17098B and it is beautiful. You mention that the negative thing about the soft crystal is that it has no anti reflection coating, and the softness makes it not scratch resistant. I agree that the softness of the cristal makes it prone to scratches, but l have to say that l find that the glass is one of the most beautiful features of those watches. I have 12 Vostok watches, and only one of them has sapphire glass, and that is my least favorite watch 😅
Ive got one on order [my 9th Amphibia] and cant wait!The non signed buckle is slightly disappointing as I have a lot cheaper models that do have signed buckles on the silicone strap.
After owning a couple of Seamsters I never liked it when other companies use their bezels. That being said I really like the way it looks on this watch. Vostok did a great job on the dial layout and just everything looks amazing here! I might have to track down one of these GMTs.

@@josepha5Yes, it is a popular model so sold out quickly. That is often the case on Meranom, for example they didn't have the 090659 I wanted, so I bought mine from Zenitar on eBay. Its always worth searching on eBay as sometimes the prices are cheaper than on Meranom. What do you think of the reverse Cermit PD-1661? Regards.

@@josepha5 I am looking forward to making my reverse Cermit when my Hulk and black PD-1661 arrive soon. Hopefully Pagani Design will start making it soon. The 170548 is an excellent piece. I really like the paddle hands; and also the brushed case and smooth bezel. Also it has the same SE crown as my 090659. The sandwich dial in the Panerai style looks lovely. The only thing to consider is the 170 series is a large piece (as discussed in this review). Really the 41 x 15mm size suits a larger 7-8" wrist best. If you have a 6-7" wrist you may find it too large on wrist to be comfortable. They weigh 90 grams, so aren't a heavy piece (your PD-1661 with all the bracelet links is 150 grams). Overall I think it is an excellent quality/value piece for the price. If you do buy one, I highly recommend you also buy some Polywatch (see link below). This is good for removing any scuffs or scratches to the lucite crystal. Just rub some Polywatch on the crystal with your fingertip, then polish it off with a cotton cloth and it removes the scratch. @@watchreviews4k I was meaning the thickness of leather that can go through the gap between the case and the spring bars, I usually remove the bracelets and replace it with a leather strap.

Good review 👍 this watch is definitely overpriced. You can purchase in Russia for 132€ and if you live in UK you have to pay 20% tax , so it's not worth it to purchase brand new watch 😉
I live near the Vostok plant. Now they make cheap watches and bad mechanisms. And there was a time when they made interesting watches and precise movements 2809 (60s-70s)
That’s BS, I own about 15-16 Vostoks and have never had an issue with them. My collection is 70’s to modern models. You must have some negative agenda.

I don't live near the plant but every Vostok I have received has exceeded expectations and never leak etc.
