I had to take leave of absence to care for self as everyday was more of a challenge to keep up with 9-5, parenting, side hustle, community work, exams etc. I was so drained and no one could connect not reach out. So I told myself I need to go MIA if I really love myself. Spending time with my kids and some things I love has been great so far. I wish you all the best and hope your mom is able to come. The reason is you don't want to get caught in the web of calling in absent based on emergencies that could happen on different days, sometimes simultaneously (since you mentioned you experienced that in your former job, chances are you are more likely to experience it again....and I am speaking from experience with kids age 12, 9 and youngest being 3)..but in all, the paths of the righteous are ordered by God. He will guide you to make the best decision to HIS glory and for the good of your family.
