- Sex offender registries are designed to allow law enforcement and the public to keep track of those who may re-offend. But across the country, there are high-risk sex offenders who have not registered and authorities have no idea where they're living. Matthew Lee Aiken is one of them. He was convicted of indecent assault and battery on a child, but failed to report his address. Police and the public had no idea where he was. Chief Investigative Correspondent Lisa Guerrero tracked him down. #InsideEdition

4 days is fast especially if he went off the grid, and they have to verify based off of out of date records. On top of the fact that they probably had to coordinate the arrest with different agencies

I think it is because they do not want them on the streets. Let me explain, if they give him let’s say 50 years for an offender, that would be an unjust punishment. However, if the give him 25 years and throw in a fine of more jail time for something they know he is not going, that gets them back in jail for more time. At least, that’s why I think that happens.

I’m curious as to why only sex offenders have to be registered but not thieves, murders, drug dealers or other criminals when they’re set free.
There is a reason why people have to register as such, for the safety of the people, at the same time this is an invasion of privacy regardless if your good, bad, famous, or not. Hopefully he gets held accountable for it though
