Funny, Buster was saying he wanted to keep his life simple. No simple life as head of baseball operations
Giants Fans will LOVE this.
I believe he realized that living simple doesn’t win championships and someone had to step up ,
Compare this to the Forty Niners hiring John Lynch.
He’s gonna resign Brandon Crawford for a proper send off
Buster should hire Madison Bumgarner as the first base coach just so we can see MadBum doing constant staredowns with the umpires.
Bummy is too proud to take a job like 1b coach..he wants to ride horses and hunt on his ranch.
Hire Bum as a DH. Fuck it 😂
Larry Baer finally had the balls to get rid of Farhan
Larry Baer hasn't has a thing to do with the Giants for over a decade
Im a Dodgers fan and I have mad respect to Buster Posey. Hopefully they have some consultants that can support him, but this is probably the best move the Giants could have made from a front office stand point
From another dodger fan, I agree. That being said bring back farhan😂
we'll see if the story ends any differently than derek jeter
It should Jeter 100% had an ego. Buster is such a cool nice dude. I say this as a die hard Dodgers fan. So you know I don't have a bias.
There's a chance that could happen. But Posey has been a part of the ownership group for a few years, so I'm sure he's learned the ins and outs of running a team to a certain degree. Plus, it's the franchise he played with his whole career. He understands what this team means for the city and has that connection with the fans. Jeter couldn't say the same for Miami
I feel like running the marlins is hard but maybe if he ran the yanks he would have been more successful. Buster knows the sf winning culture. He knows how the team should be. -another dodger fan
@@odamnitssam well, that makes some sense, but there's less pressure being president of a team like the marlins over the giants or yanks. I've heard superstar players tend to not make great coaches. Being team president I assume is like being a manager x6. But I wish him luck
Or how about Dave Stewart as the Dbacks GM? Posey is has what it takes but I feel like people shouldnt have super high exceptions right away
Can someone tell the Cardinals 'bout this?? Please...?
Posey is the Godfather of San Francisco Giants.
The White Sox should follow suit 1000% and hire Pierczynski in the exact same capacity. But they won't.
Hello Greg I am from Chicago and a White Sox fan..they won't do anything right or smart..just hire a guy from within the organization who couldn't run the minor league system
Yesss, Giants fans been waiting for this day. 🎉
There's still guys out there that he's played against. The look at coming to SF will change dynamically.
As a Dodgers fan, this is interesting.
Dave Stewart did wonders in AZ 🤨
BEST NEWS EVER!!! Zaidi is finally gone, and I believe next year the Giants can finally turn things around.
Glad Zaidi is gone that guy was terrible
Yes, buster doesn't have experience... But I'm fine with that.
The team isn't gonna turn it around next season but in some time... I think he'll build a competitive club.
Look where the "tones of experience" from these business men gets most of them.
Buster's been a leader for many years now.
Not just that... But Buster brings an identity/culture to the team. That will bring in fans, that could bring in FA's..
He'll get the time/leeway to build something from fans.
WOW what a major development
Magic Johnson was a great leader. So was Derek Jeter. How did that work out?
Buster brings Gravitas!
Finally get Farhan out of there. Get a baseball person in there not a spread sheet guy who cant throw a ball or hit a ball. Analytics has a space, but shouldnt be the first thing that people think of when it comes to baseball. Farhan was the worst project ever how can you trust a guy who never played the game of baseball.
HALLELUJAH!
Yes!!!!!!
Heck, as an avid lifetime (Garvey days) Dodger fan living in Giants territory, 'I' love Buster Posey (0:51)!
I think he needs to trade Birdsong and give him a chance elsewhere to prove he’s a major league talent at this level. Then find another everyday stalwart who can complement Logan Webb and Blake Snell. Then the Giants will begin to win.
Giants need offense more than anything else. More signings like Chapman, who's not amazing, but gets offensive production
@@JasonBoyce I respectfully disagree. I think the receive wisdom over the decades is you have to rebuild pitching first before hitting.
Simply put, Farhan did a poor job and now it's like trying to date someone totally opposite of your ex. That legend is a legend in the org but I'm shocked he's taking over so soon after retiring.
Yessssssssss!!!!!!!!
Let's circle back in 3 years and see if these votes of confidence have any validity.
Hello OCTOBER 2025 maybe 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
He is the worst general manager I've seen in Giants.
Buster has a bigger stake here than you think.
Melvin should be next out of the door.
Always has a place on the Dodgers
lol,
zaidi belongs to the back room running analytics, he just doesn’t have the business acumen to make a deal. Posey is a smart guy and understands the big picture and is not afraid to take a right kind of risk. Great day for Giants fans and organization
Posey can do it
Giants finally get rid of the man Dodgers knew was too given to seeing players, especially young ones, as interchangeable spreadsheet rows, not as people. That absolutely harmed their attractiveness to free agents, and was perhaps best illustrated in how he handled JD Davis. Overdue move, but then…
They turn it over to a guy (one who is deservedly a franchise legend as a player) who claims the real reason free agents aren’t signing is because the city is a cesspool. Good luck with that approach!
desperate and dumb investment signing son of the wind with that much $
Farhan was about as bad as it gets. He knew nothing of baseball
