I doubt it was super expensive. Drywall is rather cheap and so is basic concrete tile. I feel the most expensive part would've been the hardwood flooring/slider and the large mirrors and glass panes.
@Tara Lang that is unless you designed it and built it yourself. Small drawer dishwashers aren't super expensive and are usually common dimensions. But I defidently can see how it'd be expensive if you contracted the work out to someone else.
Its quite literally perfect. I usually find small changes to make in these apartments but I couldn't find any on this one. I could literally build this as is without a single change the only addition would be blackout curtains not designs changes because I don't like to be woken by bright light or sleep in any kind of light coming through.
After living in a big house for some time, and consuming hours just to maintain it even if I live simple, I'll be going small and this one looks a good example for me.
Micro apartments are literally for architects stroking their egos or expanding portfolio. These apartments are too small to provide reasonable housing comfort but too expensive as there is a lot of architectural design investment.
Abdullah Abd As someone who has lived in New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo, I think there’s definitely needs in the market for small apartments. Not all places around the world has the luxury to enjoy large living spaces.
I lived in a 6x10 foot apartment in NYC for 9 years. That’s 60 square feet. By the time I left I fit in shelving all around, a loft for my queen size bed, a desk for my laptop, a mini fridge, a rice cooker, a small couch and a TV. I was quite comfortable and got my nursing degree before I moved out of there. Different lifestyles for everyone and some people can be quite happy in a small, even tiny space. I do agree that these spaces should be cheap, so having expensive finishing kind of defeats the purpose.
This design must have a reward. the comparisson about the before and after and how a dark and sad place can turn into a shinning and bright place just with some effort and a little of creativity.
Yeah, I think this is a crucial part in fixing all of these small apartments. In pretty much all of the examples they have installed a lot of windows and a lot of sunlight access, I think it creates the sensation that the apartment is bigger than it is.
To be honest. If i had a busy life, a lot of friends and a good job... I would totally life in that house. But cuz i like to be home as much as possible i dont think i can live there.. But the place looks really chiccc♡♡

I prefer one single room instead of living with 4 people in a big house and fighting about cleaning every day.

Couldn't agree more! People are getting less and less for their money and they're fooled by expensive soap, a clean aesthetic and some clever marketing. There should be space standards that prevent developer from selling/renting this kind of thing
to be fair, they didn't just up and decide to build a small apartment. they're renovating old apartment buildings built in the 1960s, trying to make that space livable again.
The fact of having a 50+ years old construction into today's proposals is something to highlight at first. Fitting a functional living area in such a tiny space requires an insightful perspective. The idea of starting the project from scratch by demolishing everything within the former apartment was the perfect canvas to propose an interesting configuration in the 24 square meters. The sliding screen is crucial to create the transition feeling in between the areas, and the way it was all put together was quite clever. From the raised bed, to the hidden bathroom access door, every single inch was given a purpose to create a harmonic living space. The material pallet contributes to provide a feeling of spaciousness, and there is plenty of possibilities keeping in mind the housing stock that can be repurposed.
I love the attention to detail and care done to the redesign of the apartment. However, one thing I think a lot of tiny housings tend to forget to "renovate in a matter that suits YOUR needs". I bought a 21sqm apartment myself, and had this extravagant idea of how to divide the apartment into separate spaces with sliding mechanisms (living area, sleeping area, office etc etc). But after living there for a while I realized that the only thing I would do is actually shutting out valuable space for a vast amount of the time I spend in my home (rendering them inaccessible, using one of the other spaces). Instead I started to question how to make the space more open, and dual purpose furniture and prioritize what the most important aspects of my home was. Sleeping and working (since I work from home) basically came out on top. I centered my living around these two aspects. But I also wanted a decent bathroom with separate shower space and a kitchen that would actually enable me to cook proper food. My office desk double acts as a dining table. I made a shelf where my monitor could rest and underneath I have the desk. which can slide out, either to create more desk space, or to put in the middle of the room and have potentially 6 guests over for dinner. My bed double acts as a sofa. and it's fine. I'm mostly here by myself. Every once in a while my GF comes over. but the bed is honestly even more comfortable than a sofa. so nobody's complaining. :) If I didn't have a huge video game interest. I would probably just have skipped the TV as well. In such a small space the 27" computer monitor would do the trick for movie watching... With this solution I am left with a big open space that could accommodate full body workout. and to be honest, I don't miss that living room space. dining room space etc. because I can create these spaces on the fly, those few times when I need them.
The hidden door to the bathroom, was my favorite part.

I doubt it was super expensive. Drywall is rather cheap and so is basic concrete tile. I feel the most expensive part would've been the hardwood flooring/slider and the large mirrors and glass panes.

@@offtopfloor those apartments were subdivided years after in my opinion.
It sucks. Everyone should have a nice house and a piece of land!
The material pallet contributes to provide a feeling of spaciousness, and there is plenty of possibilities keeping in mind the housing stock that can be repurposed.

hellooo, wow this apartmet is amazing, only 24m2 but look spaciously
