I'm 51. Been listening to music all my life, am a musician, played professionally, college degree in music. I had a top list of singers over my life. STAPLETON ran to the top. NONE BETTER ever!
Your reaction speaks to you actually listening and truly hearing what Chris is pouring out , he's on a stage by himself apparently singing to a audience of golf clappers and hes fucking slaying it... no extra cords no extra words nothing but what's needed to relay one message .... the man in that song is a flipping wreck and he isnt moving on anytime soon. Great pauses , great reaction , great great great. Subscribed and liked ... and I dont game , I'll show my kids your channel If the rest of your videos are like tricks and shit on how to play games !
Love your reaction . . . I knew what was coming-up and couldn't wait for you to hear it. I know . . . he BELTS-OUT all this passion and anguish - him standing lonely on a stage with his little beat-up guitar, and then finishes-up with this kind of meek and mild "thank you". Mr. Stapleton simply cannot sing a bad song.
Just him and that guitar and his voice is pure perfection. No one is as flawless as him live! His song writing and the way he delivers with whatever guitar he chooses and it goes straight to your soul!
Straight blues with a hillbilly/country twist. From Kentucky to near you. Seen him lastnight in Madison, WI and think it may be the best live performance ive ever seen.
I know that most see this as a romantic love song, however, I know someone who always thinks of his deceased twin brother when this is played. It is a LOVE song. There are so many types of love.
Chris Stapleton: I Was Wrong, Death Row, Whiskey and You, Daddy Doesn’t pray anymore, Broken Halos, Millionaire. He has written songs for many other artists and is a once in a generation talent. He can play, write and sing. Very humble man as well. Howard Stern interview with him was great as well as the Joe Rogan interview.
He did write it, but Leanne Womack first sang it. That’s when he was just writing No. 1 songs for others. He had so much anxiety that he was unable to perform on stage. His wife talked him into to singing himself and she was on stage always looking at him to help him relax. He’s amazing and definitely in my top 2 best male singers ever. He’s flawless.
Chris Stapleton is out of this world amazing..... Like I said Chris Stapleton is in a genre all by hisself..... Tennessee Whiskey was actually wrote by David Allen Coe. Then redone by George Jones. But Chris Stapleton took it to a whole new level.... He kicked it out the park..... Sometimes I cry was wrote by Chris Stapleton & Clint Ingersoll. Chris Stapleton is deeply blessed with talent.... Everything he sings is good & can be listened to over & over. His voice..... Phenomenal..... I love watching your reaction to him. I knew what was coming & you were in shock..... It was great..... The "traveler" album is worth listening to... I highly recommend it....
He’s hands down the greatest natural talent I’ve ever seen. It’s like the day he was conceived, God didn’t have anything major planned, so decided to come down and craft Chris’s pipes himself. Fucking amazing.
He ends it by blowing your mind, then walks off with a quiet little thank you.~Chris was a professional songwriter for years for other artists and the one day decided to just step into the other end of the music business. :-)
It is a soul piercing song that he co-wrote with Clint Ingersoll. He has been around for years writing hits for other people. I have loved him for awhile. If you haven't heard him sing "Either way" please give that a listen. Enjoyed your reaction to hearing him. The man is a phenom..
I love how that first cry pulls you in,like someone walking up and caressing your face, then, that second cry hits you and Chris reaches in and rips out your soul.
Christ Stapleton used to ghost write music for everyone until his wife (the woman that sings with him) told him to stop making everyone’s career and to start making his own. Tennessee whiskey is a George Jones original, but chris Stapleton writes all of his own music. Singers like Luke Bryan who is famous in America has actually admitted to singing Chris Stapleton songs that made him top the charts several times.
"Southern Soul" that's Chris's genre, or so that's what I've read.....but it makes sense anyway. It's the only way to really describe what he does because he sure "ain't" country!!! Love the reaction. On another note, WHO ON EARTH ARE THE 10 "DINGO"S" THAT ACTUALLY HIT THE DISLIKE BUTTON!?!
I love your reaction..And yes that is his song..he is a fabulous writer..You need to just listen to all of his albums..There is nothing like them..You should watch his performance with Justin Timberlake at the 2015 CMA Awards..They played 2 songs, Tennessee Whiskey and Drink You Away! It will blow you away!
The first time I heard of Chris (and he'd been writing hit songs for other artists for years by then) was when I listed to Adele do "If It Hadn't Been For Love" and found out Chris had written and performed it. He was at the time a member of the Steeldrivers band and they were MAD good. Check them out sometime for that song and Midnight Train To Memphis or To Be With You Again.
Please note this is live with an audience; an audience so deeply drawn into his dimension they sit in silence. When that audience leaves they are all talking like "WTF. just happened" not wanting whatever it was they did not want to lose it. Perfect strangers talking to each other and letting what their emotions, their souls felt out to the world. A fe.ale comment or on another site left this note: "Every time she hears Chris sing Tennessee Whiskey she wanted a cigarette and wondered if she was pregnant. lol. I saw women get up from seats and begin moving in the most sensuous ways; IT WAS TRULY STUNNING.
yes, Chris Stapleton is a co-writer of this song, along with Clint Ingersoll. I personally don't think you'll dislike any of Chris's songs, every single one is amazing
the crowd was small because as you can see at the very end of the video, it was recorded at an FM Radio station live for its listeners, and they recorded a video of the performance.
"Tennessee Whiskey" is a good song indeed. But this...this is so much more!! I prefer several other songs because that's where the rawness comes in! So much emotion & natural talent that can't be taught.
Yes, he wrote this one. He wrote the majority of the songs he performs. He's covered a few but most of them are his original songs. Check out, I was wrong.
I just got done watching your reaction to " Fire Away " and how you talked bout your little brother killing himself and you showed a tattoo of a bird saying ats a symbol of your brother he can fly anywhere now . This reaction showed up next to watch ... 2:18 There is a bird behind you ... I'm a grown man and I'm crying my eyes out right now . I got fookn chills all over my body .
This is a man that crosses genres and races to have people who normally listen to hip hop become such fans of his they go to see him in concert. I haven’t met a person who doesn’t understand what God did when he gave him a voice…
Now that you've been introduced to Chris...just for fun watch CMA performance with Justin Timberlake. They do two songs back to back that is just an incredible collaboration. The energy builds and the place just goes crazy! You can't help but smile through the whole performance...promise!
This performance was a private event at the bing lounge so while there was more than 3 people, lol, there was still a crowd. As others may have mentioned, please watch the CMA performance of Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake. Watch the entire video of them doing Tennessee whiskey and drink you away
Sounds better live. The absolute best musicians sound better live than they do in the studio. My absolute favorite artists, current and all time all sound better live than they do in the studio, which is the way it should be. Just natural music greatness. They take you places in a song that you want to go. Like being on a small vacation right there in a song. It's soulful.
Glad I subbed because I love your reactions to him! (And your buddy on the back of your chair.) His voice can flow from smooth as butter to that awesome rasp. He and his wife did the NPR Tiny Desk Series on youtube and I'd highly recommend watching if you feel like delving a bit deeper. He talks about the background of that guitar he's using in this video. FYI I don't think any reaction channel has reacted to that yet. Just four songs he does acoustic and its amazing. Another song that hardly gets recommended is a song he did live at a radio station called What Are You Listening To.
Patrol Gaming I’m sure they will do great! They seem like the most down to earth, humble, real people! I’m totally in love with Chris’s voice, his personality just every aspect of this man is so awesome! I totally don’t think the world has really discovered him yet! His talent is so unbelievable, I can’t get enough of him , I could listen to his songs ALL day, and I do quite often!👍🐶😉💞
David Allen Coe wrote Whiskey but with a different melody. The melody for whiskey is an old Etta James song. He kind of did a mash up and made a great song.
You must watch and react to A Man's World. Live performance and it will blow your mind. Also I suggest you watch Joe Rogan podcast on youtube of his interview with Chris. The man does write most of his songs and he is so humble and likeable. Interview will tell you all you need to know about Chris Stapleton. He's been around for decades and finally went for it.
If you want to hear his writing talent listen to drink a beer its a song he wrote Luke Bryant recorded it Chris and his wife Morgane sang back up vocals
Cheers mate. If your like metal at all you should check out, unleash the archers, they have a full band play through of awakening that is pretty entertaining.
I'm 51. Been listening to music all my life, am a musician, played professionally, college degree in music. I had a top list of singers over my life. STAPLETON ran to the top. NONE BETTER ever!
that's what I love about him the most, he is so genuinely humble but that voice & those songs are just heaven sent.
No one can be taught this much soul...The man was born with it!!!!
Chris Stapleton is freakin classic country in a new age. TOTAL LEGEND!!!
True artist = only needs a mike an guitar to blow it away. No fireworks, auto-tune, choreographed dance moves.
Seen him last night live in concert and he is absolutely amazing. He is a generational talent
Wow, lucky you!
Most everything he sings is draining in a good way! Very powerful
Love your reaction . . . I knew what was coming-up and couldn't wait for you to hear it. I know . . . he BELTS-OUT all this passion and anguish - him standing lonely on a stage with his little beat-up guitar, and then finishes-up with this kind of meek and mild "thank you". Just him and that guitar and his voice is pure perfection. No one is as flawless as him live! His song writing and the way he delivers with whatever guitar he chooses and it goes straight to your soul!
He's definitely got IT. Endless soul both vocally and instrumentally.
It's insane, right? He sounds BETTER live than on his recorded albums. Just, crazy.
Straight blues with a hillbilly/country twist. From Kentucky to near you.
Seen him lastnight in Madison, WI and think it may be the best live performance ive ever seen.
This is my favorite version of any of his songs. I adore the simplistic genius of the delivery.
That man sings from his soul. Life can be harsh and hard and he's probably had some tough times. He's so good at singing songs that touch the soul.
I know that most see this as a romantic love song, however, I know someone who always thinks of his deceased twin brother when this is played. It is a LOVE song. There are so many types of love.
I swear that man is not a human!!
They say there's only 2 ways to be able to have this talent. That's either god given or devil got!!
Agreed, number 1 across genres oh and he'll help you move cause like he has a truck and his wife will help the wife put up pics at the new home.
That is God given talent!!
This song really shows off Chris' range, power, etc.
You tickle me....yeah, that kinda talent DOES leave you speechless.
He’s flawless.
chris is a unique singer he has so many different passions . tell your bird i send my best
Chris Stapleton is out of this world amazing..... Like I said Chris Stapleton is in a genre all by hisself.....

Tennessee Whiskey was written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove in 1981. First recorded by David Allen Coe.
Chris Stapleton is phenomenal. 100% pure talent. He could sing the McDonald's menu & he'd still be great.
Lol
Yes Chris Stapleton is amazing!
At like 10 seconds and he already got you I love the reactions I really do
Speechless!!!!
It is a soul piercing song that he co-wrote with Clint Ingersoll. He has been around for years writing hits for other people. I have loved him for awhile. If you haven't heard him sing "Either way" please give that a listen. Enjoyed your reaction to hearing him. The man is a phenom..

Sounds like a smart woman.
@@PatrolNation she's a phenomenal singer and songwriter in her own right. She's the voice harmonizing with him on Tennessee Whiskey!
"Southern Soul" that's Chris's genre, or so that's what I've read.....but it makes sense anyway. It's the only way to really describe what he does because he sure "ain't" country!!! Love the reaction.

ABSOLUTELY AGREE with y'all!!!!

He has got to be your favorite artist he is mine.

I wonder if Chris ever takes a peek at these reaction videos?
Very good reaction Pat. BTW your sleeve is looking great. Looks like you're almost finished.
I LOVE watching people react to Chris Stapleton, lol
Me too 😎
So do I
Yeah, he's awesome. He writes all his own songs too and has written many for other artists.
Tennessee Whiskey was written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove in 1981. First recorded by David Allen Coe."BUT CHRIS' BLOWS THEM ALL AWAY"
the crowd was small because as you can see at the very end of the video, it was recorded at an FM Radio station live for its listeners, and they recorded a video of the performance.
i like acoustic songs that way you can hear the voice.
I love hes song's omy i can feel his pain.
"Tennessee Whiskey" is a good song indeed. But this...this is so much more!! I prefer several other songs because that's where the rawness comes in! So much emotion & natural talent that can't be taught.
he has a catalog of songs he has written of over 150 songs. this is his.
He had stated he has over 1000 songs in his catalog. He described song writing as "an affliction".
1000...we've done 10 maybe. Better get cracking.
Who the hell were the blessed souls to be in that audience?
Yes, he wrote this one. He wrote the majority of the songs he performs. He's covered a few but most of them are his original songs.
Check out, I was wrong.
my favorite comment about Chris, chris is playing 3D chess in outer space while other country music singers are playing checkers.
Lol. That just about sums it up mate.
@@PatrolNation Yes sir it does!!! VOCAL BEAST...🔥🔥🔥🔥
You young ones are getting a lesson on fabulous music 😊solefull😊
I just got done watching your reaction to " Fire Away " and how you talked bout your little brother killing himself and you showed a tattoo of a bird saying ats a symbol of your brother he can fly anywhere now . Thanks for watching mate.
Now I'm hunting his reaction to fire away!!
He's unbelievable man. He's the closest thing we've had to Elvis since Elvis died, in my opinion. I just don't think people realize it yet.
This is a man that crosses genres and races to have people who normally listen to hip hop become such fans of his they go to see him in concert. I haven’t met a person who doesn’t understand what God did when he gave him a voice…

Wow Lyle, no beard! Love this!! Great reaction 😊
Lol.
This performance was a private event at the bing lounge so while there was more than 3 people, lol, there was still a crowd.
As others may have mentioned, please watch the CMA performance of Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake. Watch the entire video of them doing Tennessee whiskey and drink you away
His song. He’s a prolific song writer.
Love the reaction. Love the song. A good couple would be Beth Hart Mama or Am I the One. Both from Live At Pardiso. Will blow your mind.

It's said that a true BLUES singer is born … never made. Singing the blues is never taught just lived.
Love your reaction 😄😄
Fire away, I was wrong and Death row are amazing Chris Stapleton songs as well. Hell, Everything he does is wild.
I hear a bit of Chris Cornell after 5:18 and again at 6:35 in this video. Amazing reaction!
Chris is actually better known as a song writer.
Please do "You are my sunshine" Chris Stapleton and his wife. A whole different mood that the children's nursery rhyme!
Great"slow" guitar. Soul!!
George Jones sang a version of Tennesse Whiskey that is totally inrecognizable from Chris's version.
Please Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore. It's my favorite by him.
This reaction made me subscribe. Howdy from Texas.
Thanks for watching mate.
Urr crackin me up coz im like you x😎
Being held speechless is something Chris does quite a bit. Enjoy, Mate.
He and Morgane are also expecting twins!! Did you see him perform on the ACM awards last night??? Morgane is VERY pregnant now!👍🐶💞😉
They'll have their hands full for sure.
Patrol Gaming I’m sure they will do great! They seem like the most down to earth, humble, real people! Listen to Death row. Awesome!
when you're using "OK..." to reset yourself... but it's not working.
Check his southern rock band, the jompson brothers "barely alive" or " the river".
Also On the Run
Jompson ROCKS!
If you want another great song and performance check out Devin Townsend project - Deadhead live at royal Albert hall. Powerful voice.

Thanks for the info mate, I'll definitely check out the podcast.
He's one of the talented song writers from eastern Kentucky scarecrow in the garden is one of my favorite songs by him
If you want to hear his writing talent listen to drink a beer its a song he wrote Luke Bryant recorded it Chris and his wife Morgane sang back up vocals
Hey Great Reaction. I feel the same way about this Guy. Just how good is He??
It's a showcase for radio executives, I think...
He writes all of his own songs
I’d love to see your reaction to Chris Stapleton Fire Away.
Quite possibly the illegitimate love child of SRV? It was the 80's...he toured Nashville...Stevie didn't know he was white either.
Except Chris hails from Lexington KY,that how we grow'em in Kentucky
Zac Brown band sang this as well.
Some good ole brown liquor music.
I told you!
Too smooth y'all 4:09 ❤😢😂😅.
He collaborated with Pink also.
Cheers mate. If your like metal at all you should check out, unleash the archers, they have a full band play through of awakening that is pretty entertaining.
Men have Viagra.... women have Chris Stapleton!!
I was wrong ~ Austin City Limits ~ Should be next on your list.
