I love seeing and hearing the interaction of David and Richard on this song. And, it reminds me of Richard's passing. He is missed. The world lost a great talent that day.
Whilst you are looking at the Pulse concert you really must watch / react to 'The Great Gig in the Sky'. Very emotional and yet wonderful. You will not be disappointed. It's also quite different from what you've heard so far.
@andrewmorgan. Yep, i think that's a great one too. Also for a slight change of pace maybe "Run like hell" from Pulse concert is a bit more uplifting. ✌
Yep,same as me. At 20 years old just thought it was fantastic music. Now at 70 it’s fantastic lyrics. As someone mentioned Great Gig in the sky with Claire Torry, amazing music and lyrics.
Listened to this album in friends basement in 1974, from front to back, a hundred times. You guys need to react to this whole album, Dark Side of The Moon. One of the greatest conceptual albums ever made.
Considering how young they were when they wrote this song, I'm stunned by the way it makes 62 year old me think about how they get my thoughts and feelings about my past so spot on.
After a lifetime of listening to Pink Floyd, i was fortunate enough to see them at this great concert. My brother & myself travelled over 200 miles to see them at Earls court. One track that stands out for me at the venue was 'One of these days'. A masterpiece with Mr Gilmour on slide guitar. Thank you for reacting to one of the greatest groups of all time & one very dear to me. 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Watch or listen to pink floyd the wall from start to finish, it's a whole thing connected. i first listend to it in high school back in 1988, me and my pal had a sony walkman and in ear headphones were just kinda new so we each had one earphone in during class as we sat side by side and the teacher couldn't see it. great times
"Shine on you crazy diamond", Whish you were here album. Just put your headphones on lie back in comfy chair with the lights down low and let the music envelop you.
What a f'ing great reaction guys. I was introduced to Floyd almost 35 years ago now and will never get tired of these amazing tunes and lyrics. Thanks beautiful people. What a journey :)
I was fortunate to see Pink Floyd 11 times on this tour including their last U.S. show at Giants Stadium. They brought the amazement every single show. Sometimes it pays to be old 😁
So good to see these younger generations listen and react to the pioneering bands of the 70s, thank you both for a great reaction. I suggest another band from the 70s the pioneering Symphonic band Renaissance, try Mother Russia from the 1974 Album Turn of the Cards.
Im 60 now. Have listened to PF since i was 12 and i love them still, When listen to them, it´s not just a song you get, it´s an experience. Was lucky to see them in Copenhagen in early 90s, great concert 👌👌👌
Time from the album, Darkside of the Moon. Darkside of the Moon was my first introduction to Pink Floyd in the 70s as a young teenager. We have so many groups and great music that never made it across the pond to your country
The whole Pulse concert is amazing but I think with Time it's best to listen to it from the Dark side of the moon album to really get what it is about. It's a brilliant song.
"And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking, Racing around to come up behind you again" Probably my favorite line in music. The older you get, the more this hits like a brick.
Listening to 1 track from DSOM is sacrilegious. Its a concept album that needs to be heard continuously from start to finish. Its like reading one chapter from a book
Have a listen to the great gig in the sky this pulse version and listen to the girls singing if don’t fill up you’ll certainly get goosebumps. I’m shivering now now thinking about it. Love your reactions. Keep with Peter Kaye and also try Sean lock he deffo got your sense of humour. Cheers
Great to see you appreciating some of our classic, legendary artists' music. Reminding me how fecking old I am - not so much! This was released in 1973 (the year of my birth), on the 30million copies best-selling album 'The Dark Side of the Moon' (even though it was their 8th album!) which was recorded at the world famous Abbey Road Studios (although it was EMI at the time) a mere 4 miles from where I started life in North London. • 'Time' itself was released in the US as a single the year after Loving your videos, keep em coming please... Cheers from UK
It wouldn't be Pink Floyd if you couldn't have a cup of tea, stroll in the park, write your will and sit down for ten minutes.......... just during the intro!
You guys should listen, privately, to the studio version of this song. PF's live concerts are crazy good but studio "Time" and "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" are so much better (imo). I think you will agree after you hear both. Love your reactions.
In these re-edited versions, all they have done is add in short clips from the rehearsals of the same number to get different angles of the performers. The sound remains unmatched.
This WAS Music! Pink Floyd, tanta roba! Genius: they succeeded in making high quality music combined with planetary commercial success. Today there is ONLY shit.
Jess, Mike - great reactions as usual! If you like music that takes you on a journey, you guys have got to react to 'The Snow Goose' by Camel - you will be transported to another world, guaranteed! And if you can read the novella of the same name written by Paul Gallico beforehand, then so much the better. Well worth the effort guys!
Speaking of time... this song is over 50 years old. This performance is 30 years ago (I saw this tour live in 94). Somehow it still sounds fresh and relevant. Sonically, Lyrically, Musically, Visually, this could have been cut and performed yesterday. Well it couldn't, because nobody does stuff like this now, but you would never think this music is so old. But back to the 30 year thing, when this was performed in 1994, 30 years earlier would have been 1964. It bogles my mind how rock music changed so dramatically in such a short time from the early 60s to the early 70s. We haven't really had that kind of a leap forward since. Just kind of blows your mind, what legends like Pink Floyd were able to accomplish without much of a roadmap. When I was coming of age, in high school then college, we all loved the classic bands. Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Stones, etc. But Pink Floyd somehow still transcends generations more than those bands. Not saying they're better, but they continue to connect with people. You see so many young people with Pink Floyd shirts for example, and some of the actually have listened to the music lol!
It seems to be about getting older, and how faster time seems to fly and not doing all of what you wanted to do as a younger person. Quite dark lyrics in some ways, although the final few lines seem cosier and more content ! 👍👍👍
In a nutshell this song covers the span of a life; it starts with a child frittering away their free time, moves to a young adult realizing their years are slipping away, then an adult with their time consumed by work until their "song is over" with less to show for it than they'd hoped. It concludes with the senior by their fire at home and then finishes with the church bell and prayers at their funeral.
It’s not an accident that you both mentioned the word journey about their music. Pink Floyd set the whole atmosphere of their songs when they played them live. Sights, sounds and feelings all came into play alongside the music which took their listeners on a journey. I’ll just echo others by saying that you should watch the entire Pulse concert, if not for channel content then for your own experience. Wait until you hear High Hopes from this concert, talk about being taken on a journey. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.
If you would like to keep exploring Pink Floyd you can watch ECHOES Live at Pompeii in 1972 Tuen you will see their creativity in their 20’s it is a masterpiece
love pink floyd i have some rare records which i picked up over 30 years ago , i have a double sided album of the wall where all sides are a and no b side of the rest of the tracks ,and the label is slightly of the circle . I also have what a lovely pair album where the jackets in bottom left pic is black and have the English version as well ,the album came from the states and from a army base as there is a sticker marking that . I also have rare singles in different colors ,they all have never been played and they are coming with me ,
Yes, time is short... Make the most of it, because before you know it, it will be gone. Don't wait, or you'll realise you've missed the starting gun! : )
Dark Side Of The Moon is much better if you listen to the entire album from the first track to the last. The muisc and musicianship can still be appreciated piecemeal - the odd individual track here and there over diferent days - but you then miss a geat deal of it's impact, themes and transitions. This album, is an album first and foremost. You get so much more from a complete listen through. I bought the vinyl on its UK release and listen to it about three times before I realised that the sun had set and I was sitting in the dark with my headphones on. Brilliant. BTW this is not a plea to react to the album online. Just do yourselves a favour and listen to it at home (not driving or working) without interruption.
Just found you guys and love you. But i wish your first impressions were from the original release like ours were.. Then explore the later live versions. Their studio stuff is so awesome and amazing.
Pink Floyd songs are long and have long intros, because they are trying to put you in a meditative state, where you have full attention placed on what you are hearing.
As you like `authenticity', and you are going to see SARAH MILICAN at this venue next year, ...please consider watching FOREIGNER,...`ROCKING AT THE RYMAN' video, it is really well filmed and makes you think you are there, the music of course is amazing and it gives an intimate atmosphere to this lovely venue which is not huge. I am in the UK and have followed this band for many years. aLSO HAVE GOOD MEMORIES OF SEEING `FLOYD'.
Great reaction. With you guys loving songs that take you on a journey one of the most recent epic tracks you should check out is from a young Welsh man who has such a story, such a talent and has for the past couple of years been blowing up RUclips - Hi Ren by Ren. Would love to see your take on it. It'a a tough one but so worth it.
Where you go next....GENESIS, `WHEN IN ROME'...brilliant concert, half million audience, fantastic lights and amazing sound....please please want to hear what you think, you are aware that Phil Collins is their lead singer?/???
Amazing about Pink Floyd outside of DSOTM and a few songs from "The Wall". got little radio play cause they don't do 4 minute songs. Radio station audience aren't sitting in a room that requires this music.Notice everyone is sitting ( except "Run Like Hell). Pink Floyd is not R&R. AS a person who has grown up to this music it is best listen too in the dark, head phones or good stereo and a big fatty.
Good reaction to a good band, I prefer live performances the bands add so much more, why not try nightwish it's a symphonic metal band with a great singer Floor, they produce very good productions, Ghost love score would be a good start.
All tracks to Pulse concert are masterpiece But I have a request for you : why don't you do reactions on The Warning anymore... A few months ago you were doing The Warning Wednesday? Why did you stop?🤔🤔 Have a Great day 🙏
Never been a big fan of the Pulse stuff, it's a lot of Gilmour "Look at me! Stadium rock God!!" I much prefer the studio versions of Comfortably Numb and Time and so on, it's more subtle guitar playing, more range and meaning and at a better tempo, imho.
ok jess one more time from the old dude you have to listen and watch THE WALL vidio. and the tunes from the album Animals dogs. pigs etc. but you never listen to me pity.
Yes, whenever you do the pulse concert it’s best to get the re-edited restored. The older you get, the harder it hits.
These lyrics have deep meaning for young people, but young people rarely pay enough attention to hear them, let alone heed them.
The whole pulse concert is something else had the dvd for years love it, takes you to another world, legends❤
You do not listen to Pink Floyd…. You experience them …. Thanks for the reaction
I love seeing and hearing the interaction of David and Richard on this song. And, it reminds me of Richard's passing. He is missed. The world lost a great talent that day.

It's about TIME you guys reacted to this song ...
Thanks for your reaction
Yep,same as me. At 20 years old just thought it was fantastic music. Now at 70 it’s fantastic lyrics.

Pink Floyd songs on their own are amazing. Complete albums are transformative.
Considering how young they were when they wrote this song, I'm stunned by the way it makes 62 year old me think about how they get my thoughts and feelings about my past so spot on.

Powerful stuff...

Great gig in the sky (Pulse) is a must listen
Great Gig in the sky, You guys will love it!
I was 25 years old and there. It was THE show of a lifetime🤘🔥
I was 23 and at the opening show from this tour in Miami, what a night! Great memories. Best concert I've been to.
Sums up life for us all. We are born and each year seems to get faster - it's like a race to your grave. What do we have to show for it at the end?
"Shine on you crazy diamond", Whish you were here album. Just put your headphones on lie back in comfy chair with the lights down low and let the music envelop you.
Hi hopes live from pulse .my favourite of all. hi guys great video's ,i was there yes i am 65 now .
IMHO, the PULSE concert was the greatest from the 20th century! Any song from this concert is worth reacting to!
Dark Side of the Moon celebrated 50 years; Pulse concert performance was from 1994 and Pink Floyd were formed in 1965.
What a f'ing great reaction guys. I was introduced to Floyd almost 35 years ago now and will never get tired of these amazing tunes and lyrics. Thanks beautiful people. What a journey :)
My all time fav band since childhood (I'm 68 now). Pulse ...... a great concert.
"and when at last the work is done, don't sit down it's time to dig another one"
can't imagine not having floyd as the soundtrack to my life
I was fortunate to see Pink Floyd 11 times on this tour including their last U.S. show at Giants Stadium. They brought the amazement every single show. Sometimes it pays to be old 😁
This type of music isn't just given to you,it requires an input from you as well.its not superficial.
That`s why its called `progressive'!!!
I was at that show, Earls Court in London, their last tour, 30 years ago now.
I saw them perform The Wall at Earls Court in 1980 and it was so good I went back in 1981 to see it again!
So good to see these younger generations listen and react to the pioneering bands of the 70s, thank you both for a great reaction. I suggest another band from the 70s the pioneering Symphonic band Renaissance, try Mother Russia from the 1974 Album Turn of the Cards.
Great job as always guys. The lyrics are imperative in this song
Im 60 now. Have listened to PF since i was 12 and i love them still, When listen to them, it´s not just a song you get, it´s an experience.
Was lucky to see them in Copenhagen in early 90s, great concert 👌👌👌

i'd definitely recommend David Gilmour 'Comfortably Numb Live at Pompei 2016', incredible setting and guitar solo!
The whole Pulse concert is amazing but I think with Time it's best to listen to it from the Dark side of the moon album to really get what it is about. It's a brilliant song.
"And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking, Racing around to come up behind you again"

Pink Floyd tell a story with each album, although it’s nice to hear individual tracks you must hear each album from beginning to end.
Cheers
Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Sorrow, Hi Hopes, Money, from this concert
One of these days, another

next one from Pulse concert 1994 - Coming Back to life = 3 guitar solo , 🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶
If you liked David and Rick singing together then Echos live at Pompeii is a must. They are brilliant together in that song.
It wouldn't be Pink Floyd if you couldn't have a cup of tea, stroll in the park, write your will and sit down for ten minutes.......... just during the intro!
The great gig in the sky from the same concert is about the stages of dying.Different but brilliant.
You guys should listen, privately, to the studio version of this song. PF's live concerts are crazy good but studio "Time" and "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" are so much better (imo). I think you will agree after you hear both. Love your reactions.

Love you to react to in your eyes, secret world live. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL VIBE. PLEASE. by Peter Gabriel
The remix by DJ 'S' of the Temptations' Papa was a Rollin' Stone is rather good.
Still the original album version for me
If you would like to keep exploring Pink Floyd you can watch ECHOES Live at Pompeii in 1972 Tuen you will see their creativity in their 20’s it is a masterpiece

You should also give credit to the backing vocals. Those three women add depth to the song.
Great Gig in the Sky next. Anyone else?
You should watch The Wall.
Our guy needs to watch the George Carlin bit about adult men wearing backwards hats. 🤣🤣😂😂
Just found you guys and love you. But i wish your first impressions were from the original release like ours were.. Then explore the later live versions. Their studio stuff is so awesome and amazing.

Could I request Wonderland Indonesia 3: The Guardian of Nusantara by Alfy Rev? I’m really looking forward to seeing you experience the next chapter!
But you didn't listen to the lyrics, and the story & meaning.
Life IS a " journey" [ your words ], and you don't get to go back & revisit the places you missed, or skipped over.
"I love journey songs..." reminded me of my children saying "Are we there yet?" You have to let the music finish before commenting.
I am new to your channel and slowly going through your back catalogue....have you ever done any EAGLES? would love to see that
Amazing about Pink Floyd outside of DSOTM and a few songs from "The Wall". got little radio play cause they don't do 4 minute songs. This Pulse version is good however I prefer the Delicate Sound Of Thunder one. Actually I prefer the whole of that concert to Pulse.
Good reaction to a good band, I prefer live performances the bands add so much more, why not try nightwish it's a symphonic metal band with a great singer Floor, they produce very good productions, Ghost love score would be a good start.
i always find it sad roger waters(the bands conscience) aint performing with them
All tracks to Pulse concert are masterpiece
But I have a request for you : why don't you do reactions on The Warning anymore... A few months ago you were doing The Warning Wednesday? Why did you stop?🤔🤔
Have a Great day 🙏
The lyrics and song was written and composed by Roger Waters not Gilmour.
wow wow fantastic (How about Robbie Williams Let me Entertain you at Knebworh 2003
Never been a big fan of the Pulse stuff, it's a lot of Gilmour "Look at me! Stadium rock God!!" I much prefer the studio versions of Comfortably Numb and Time and so on, it's more subtle guitar playing, more range and meaning and at a better tempo, imho.
If you like Floyd then you should listen to the Radio Kaos album by Roger Waters, its a masterpiece!
If you listen to Roger Waters you are supporting Hamas like him .
ok jess one more time from the old dude you have to listen and watch THE WALL vidio. and the tunes from the album Animals dogs. pigs etc. but you never listen to me pity.
The video distracts from the great piece of music.
Not as glorious as the studio version.
Sorry but this prentious tripe.
are you guys just focused on britain only WHY?
Why not? Great comedy. Great music. Great landscape and architecture. Great Britain.
Thats where the greatest music comes from
That's where the subscribers are.
Yes, whenever you do the pulse concert it’s best to get the re-edited restored. It’s the best quality picture you see back in the day that was originally filmed in VHS video and transferred to DVD in 2006.
That might’ve been good for that time. With the TV is being what they were but then when 1080 P started to become mainstream it was just too blurry, and because it was originally done in video it was difficult at the time to enhance it.
A software became available. The enhancement took place and I think this is the best they could do is around 280 P I don’t think they could make it into 4K but who knows
Also, they had about a dozen cameras for the concert and the original one has different camera angles
For example, on the original, you might see more of Gilmore‘s hands on the guitar when now it’s mixed to more of the stage and some scenes that you used to see more of the stage you might see more of the individual players, but it’s not a big deal it’s subtle so yes overall that is the exact concert. They didn’t mess with it much wood than that but I’m glad they were able to fix the quality of the picture.
