do you think they test these before mass production? And if they do, and realized that counter rotating driveshaft just put the torque twist on the other side, they just said 'good enough, we changed it' and decided to move forward. That's what I feel like they have been doing with their entire line-up... 'good enough', they sell enough quantity to make a profit and that's it.
Yes. They make just enough changes to say it’s something new. This is about the 3rd or 4th redesigning of this HobbyPlus chassis. Reversing the rear drive shaft helps a little but doesn’t take the place of tuning. Furitek keeps giving us cheaper and cheaper electronics.
@@rcmonger I fear that pattern. Two steps forward only to out something three steps back.
Historically when a new trim comes out on anything from Cars to computers we see the other trims go up in price. Só that's what I'm expecting to see Next with furitek. This is typical capitalism at work. I guess time Will tell.
But dangit if the body isn't cool especially how they changed the rear bed
I really wish they had redesigned the transmission. It’s not the bushings that are the issue but the transmission itself. I’m not sure of the exactly science behind it but the orientation of the gears in relation to the axle ratio causes it. If you swap an scx24 transmission or even the single speed from the cr18p the torque twist isn’t as bad.
Do you know what aftermarket parts from other brands work with the CR18P, like FCX18 or FX118?
Do the Delrin Rock Sliders for the Furitek - FX118 Fury Wagon bolt onto this chassis? It seems like the best option if they bolt right on.
I am curious how this would do versus the newest cayman pro v2 (the one that comes in orange and black) I have been wanting a cayman for a while but i can get into the new redcat ascent fusion for 20-30 more. Idk I love 1/ 24s, and 1/18s. This body looks pretty decent. I like the evo pro also. We have so many decent options out. I have been saying it for years, Its a great time to be in rc!
you can use the battery tray on the side rails, and works perfectly.
I hate those rubber bands! Haha! I run velcro on all my batts so I just ditch the trays
@@2fmrc fair enough..i put velcro on my redcat ascent 18 relocating it to the side but i dont always trust velcro on its own but i must admit its staying put so far.
@@malcolmlester4585yeah I even run Velcro on my 1/10 comp style trucks. Sometimes it’ll come loose on hard falls but overall it holds pretty well.
Finally someone doing what I do!
I have a thin sheet of PLA by Tamiya that I've used to make my body mounts and an ESC/Wire cover. Wish I could post a pic cause it came out super clean! Say hello to the kitty for me!!
First time seeing this truck and I for some reason really like this body. Especially that blue. I like where the 24 scales are heading going brushless and staying relatively the same price.
Love what you did with the side trays, it's one of the first things that came to mind.. the high placement of the electronics.
This body is some, i think i need to get one of these, the T-Hunter will have to wait.
As always, very helpfull 👍🏻
