Just going to put it out there. This is basically a Crane 2 copy, so what features make this stand out from that gimbal? Are these manufactured in the same warehouse as Zhiyun's gimbals?
Hi Casey, Appreciate your comment. Yes both units share the same licensed technology and are built by the same manufacturer however our Rage3 is built to our specifications with our own firmware. Hardware wise they are Identical, the ProFocus drive system is however included with the Rage3. We pride ourselves in delivering great service and support to all of our customers right here in our Bend Oregon warehouse. If ever needed warranty work all gimbal repairs are done in house by our trained technicians. Spare parts are always available from us as well as quality accessories to help you get the most out of your gear. In addition to the great support we deliver to our customers we extend the same level of service, training and support to all of our authorized retailers. We’re constantly working on developing new features and bringing new ideas to the market (when there ready) Buying from us helps support that effort. Any questions feel free to ask! Cheers Peter
I appreciate the quick, thorough, and honest response! I've always heard great things about the EVO SS, and being in the US would definitely be convenient for support or warranty work. I know you probably don't have the data, but can you talk about any differences between your firmware versus Zhiyun's?
Hi Casey, Thanks for your support. The difference is noticed in the stability in the gimbals and we are unable to share specific in our firmware. Any other questions, please let us know.
I'm looking for a gimbal to combine with the *BMC4K* (Blackmagic Cinema 4K Camera). Whatever gimbal I choose I will need to buy 4 cameras and 4 gimbals. Is this *EVO RAGE3* gimbal appropriate for the *BMC4K* camera? If the *EVO RAGE3* is compatible with the *BMC4K* then is this gimbal appropriate for the following application. I need to attach 4 gimbal-mounted cameras onto a small 2-seat high-wing airplane. - one under left wing pointing forward and somewhat outward == away from airplane. - one under right wing pointing forward and somewhat outward == away from airplane. - one under fuselage pointing forward and somewhat downward == below tires and propeller. - one on top of roof above cockpit pointing forward and slightly upward == above wings and propeller. In no case will any part of the airplane be visible (no body, no wings, no tires, no propeller ... nothing but scenery visible). If the gimbals [and cameras] can be controlled remotely from the cockpit with ipad via WIFI, that is especially helpful. If the gimbal can be panned 360-degrees horizontally (left/right) that's great, especially for the last two setups above. If the gimbal can be tilted plus or minus 30-degrees or so vertically (up/down) that's great too. So ... works or not with *BMC4K* camera? So ... works or not for this application?
Hi Max, All of our gimbals have a windspeed limit of 55mph. Sounds like you are planning on mounting the gimbals outside of the airplane, correct? If so, that will not work out. Reach out to support@evogimbals.com for more information.
@@EVOGimbals_KeepItSmooth : Yes, the gimbals and cameras will be outside the airplane. But the airplane will be flying at about 40mph / 60kph while shooting. So if that's the only reason the gimbals won't work, maybe they will work? Or still no?
@@EVOGimbals_KeepItSmooth : Your comment does not make sense to me. Are you implying I don't know how slow or fast my airplane will fly? Or maybe you're saying I need to go faster than 40mph to take off? You would be wrong about that. However, sometimes (but not always) I might fly faster than 40mph to get to a location where filming would begin (where I would then slow down to 40mph). But the gimbal and camera would not be powered up or operated until I slowed the airplane down to 40mph to start shooting.
Hi Miguel, The RAGE3 has a minimum weight requirement of 500g. The Blackmagic Pocket does't meet that weight at about 350g, but if you add weight to it somehow you can make it compatible.
It doesn't have a fast follow mode, but you can speed up the gimbals reaction time by setting scene mode to "motion": evogimbals.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003626394-Scene-Mode.
Are you guys still in business? Haven’t heard anything on your RUclips channel in 8 months... I just purchased a EVO Rage 3 from B&H Photo and would like to know if tech support will continue for the product or what?
Blaque Beacon Hi Blaque, yes we are absolutely still in business :) If you need any help please reach out to us support@evogimbals.com - we have lots of new videos that will be published soon. In all honesty we are taking a different direction with our business model so you will continue to see us promote our stabilizers along with a wider range of complimentary mobile video products. Cheers, Peter
Does the back of the Rage 3 gimbal partially hide the camera monitor?
It doesn't hide it but does obstruct it a bit
A tight shot of the remote?
can you guys please post a calibration tutorial
Sure thing! We're working on that, but in the meantime if you need assistance please contact our support team at support@evogimbals.com.
Have they come out with a firmware update for Nikon compatibility? I hear Zhiyun did
Hi Hugo,
Not yet, but we will in the coming days.

Hi Max,
Initially you'll have to go much faster than that to get up in the air so it would still not work. Make sense?

@@maxbootstrap7397 I'm just curious about the set up and if you made it work. Any videos you like to share?
Can it work with canon camcorder HG 40
Hi John,
No, we don't have a gimbal that can accommodate a camcorder at this time.
ok thanks

Are your gimbals water proof or water resistant? Can they survive a dunk in a river or rain?
Hi chitownarcher,
They are not waterproof so they would not survive a dunk.
@@EVOGimbals_KeepItSmooth Thanks.
Is it going to handle the weight of panasonic GH5s + Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO Lens
Hi Edmond,
Yes, the RAGE3 can handle up to 7lbs ;)
Thanks for fast reply,
Does it have fast follow mode?
In case I want to capture fast movement?
