I don't know if this helps anyone, but I found laying in a warm bath almost 24/7 helped with the aches, pains, nausea and shivering attacks. I've just been having little power naps with my head against the side. I haven't really been eating or drinking (maybe one 1 piece of dry bread a day) which reduced vomiting.

I’m through the worst of it. Vomiting started 24hr ago. It came on around 8pm very violently. After that I was vomiting every 20-30 minutes till around 10am the following morning. When I would drink water it would be vomited back out within 10 minutes. It’s now 8.15pm and haven’t vomited for 10 hours now. I have the stomach cramps, fatigue and shivering still but I can cope with that. The nausea and vomiting were on another level. At one point in the night I thought lord take me now as I can’t see a way out lol. My daughter was sent home from school with it 4 days ago. It then passed to my son and my other daughter. Then my husband and I was the last one to be infected. I’m glad it happened that way though so I could take care of them all.
Super helpful video. Just recovered from what I believe to be norovirus. Didn't know that alcohol sanitizers were useless, otherwise I probably wouldn't have contracted and spread this wicked virus. Was a terrible 48 hours, felt like death was stalking me. Good to know I can still be contagious even 4 weeks later; I'll be careful!
I’m currently on vacation and I think I have this. Needless to say, it is absolute hell. Waking up every hour due to intense abdominal cramps and pain. Have had symptoms for just about 48 hours. Trying not to lose my mind lol
I think i already lost mine with the rotavirus... going to the restroom 10+ times a day because of the worst cramps of my life, fever, persistent headaches, nothing can reduce the pain and risk of dehydration... Currently day 4 and the sheer fact that it can last for 4 more days- please. Id rather get hospitalised just to ask the staff to give me some kind of anesthetic
If you can while on vacation, try and eat food you have brought or at least carry sanitary wipes and stuff, never trust stall type foods, no idea how sanitary they are.
I’ve had this 3 times in my life and it’s absolute hell. I 100% would rather have Covid than this. This is my second day having it and I just threw up again. The nausea and vomiting are the worst part and the body aches are almost unbearable. We definitely need a vaccine for this cause it’s just that bad
I thought I was going to die. I actually fell asleep in the bathroom. Happy it only lasted a day & 1/2. Not sure who I contacted it from but it was probably from a restaurant.
The image on the title slide with the person on their knees puking and pooping at the same time...that was me. I was sitting on the toilet holding a bucket and shivering. I was afraid to get up because I didn't trust my bowels. It was hellish. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
I had this 20 years ago and still remember how bad it was. I didn’t know if I should sit down or lean over the toilet cuz it could come out of either end at any time. I also remember the night sleep was like a nightmare that I couldn’t escape.
Very good video! Everyone in my family has it currently. It started with my 2yo daughter, then me, my wife and son a few hours later. It’s a horrible virus.
I was told by my doctor today that I most likely have this. I fell unwell on Sunday with most of the symptoms listed here it was horrible, the fever really got to me. Anyway including Sunday I’m on my fourth day and even though I don’t have the main symptoms the fatigue and dizziness I’m suffering with is actually hell. I hope it passes soon.
@@erichan1865 its rough but you'll be alright. Just got to persevere. If it gets to be too much go to the ER and tgwy can give you meds to make it easier on you. I know theyll atleast give you something to stop you from constantly puking and maybe an anti diarrheal medicine
I had this december 2019 in england. it was bad i had to change under pants few times haha i had worst diareah and stomach pains i have ever had was a nasty virus
I had this and vomited 8 times so violently I gave my mouth trauma ! Neck swole up on both sides and grew a lump under my tongue. Went to Doctor and he knew right away what I had . My neck swelling is gone and lump under tongue thank god !!! You never want this period it’s horrible . Great video and thanks .
A few months ago, I received the virus due to a fast food joint that served days of old food. Nasty. Each time I would drink water, I threw it up. And oh my god, the first time I threw up was in my bathroom and I almost passed out after. + opening the door, I fell to the floor and fell asleep. And each time I slept to sleep away the virus, I would wake up to my stomach hurting or me having to throw up AGAIN. I’m never eating teriyaki ever, again. The worst flu I’ve ever had in my life. It was to an extent I wanted to commit suicide.
It’s the worst.... pain and sickness ever!!! I literally did what you did passed out in the bathroom... was Asking God for strength please forgive me for whatever I did wrong! And I really don’t want to battle that ever again.... because I truly was destroyed. The constant vomiting and I couldn’t even SIP on water....
@@chrisSea1346 seriously i just had this while on vacation in vegas - basically died in the room, we are home now and my partner has it. worst thing ever
I'm 53 hrs in. I felt like I was dying when it first started. A legit felt like I was going to black out. I have had three children and nothing I have gone through in my life has ever felt this terrible. when that girl pierced my septum it was not this horrendous. The symptoms of died down but I still feel weak. And I have this bad taste in my mouth and it won't go away I don't care how much I brush my teeth. Ukkk
I absolutely had the worst case of norovirus I’ve ever had before. 3 days straight of vomiting, 2 days of diarrhea, 2 days without peeing, eating and well over 1 day without being able to drink. I was so dehydrated I thought I’d pass out
Sorry to hear you were so sick. You were extremely dehydrated. You need to sip electrolyte drinks to replace the fluids. I was really sick too last Thursday night. Very thirsty. I sipped Gatorlyte constantly which I think prevented me from going to the ER
Yes hydration is the only way to fight that battle. I was sipping hydrolyte cocktails with ice non-stop. Really poor access to an ER and I live on my own so loss of consciousness from dehydration could have been fatal. Seems like for every cup I drank two were run or puked out. Small sips every 15 min is key to survival. You start getting dizzy you’re in the danger zone.
I work with children so inevitably I catch this once every 2 -3 years. On my second day of my current bout of it and feeling better but stomach is still gripey. Eurghhhhh!!
I had this. I'm still recovering a bit. I feel like I walked through hell or like I was on deaths door. I had to go to the er. They gave me fluids and medicine to stop the nausea. If I hadn't had that i don't know. Warm baths and a heating pad helped also but it was awful. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I had a headache so bad I could not talk I could only point and then I started puking severely. I also had diarrhea and bad abdominal pain. I couldn't stand, I remember crawling to the bathroom to puke. I lost a week of work and still now I still get headaches when there is a lot of stress and physical effort. I couldn't eat or drink for 3 days and even now, still my stomach is sensitive. I've had a normal 24 hour stomach bug, food poisoning and I have celiac disease and this was the worst thing I was have ever physically gone through. I'm glad I'm starting to get better and will never take my health for granted again. Thank the Gods for every day your alive!

I can’t remember the last time I have been this poorly, it is everything in one. I have never felt so weak and helpless. I have cried everyday. Day 4 and I’m starting to feel human again but my belly says otherwise!
I got this today on my birthday. I randomly woke up at 3am and heard some weird noises from my stomach. I already knew at that point that I was going to either vomit or have dierrha soon. As soon as I was standing up I got the worst cramps of my life to my both of my calves. It was so painful that I just started screaming and crying in pain for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. The pain from my cramps still have effects on my walking and im still shitting and vomiting after 15 hours. Not the best birthday of my life.
I gotta ask, did you fell better after vomiting, cus i am felling as new after vomiting. Now i am scared that will i vomit again, cus the felling is brutal and i don't want to get throught this again😓
@@ledoge8024 My vomiting lasted for around 6 hours and I didnt feel any better after that. For me its been almost 48 hours after my first vomiting and im still feeling a bit sick in my stomach but Im feeling a lot better now than before.
I haven’t been diagnosed but I know for sure I have it. Started with my 7month old then my 7yr old then my husband went to work and joked your next and I laughed and said no way I’m strong even though I felt nauseous a bit. He left I jumped out the bed and ran like usain bolt and vomited. This virus makes your body hurt especially then and throat feel like you are choking on food. It felt like I went to hell. This virus makes me feel like this was perfectly designed by evil ppl in a lab. My son had diarrhea and we had the garbage right infront him on the toilet. My 7month vomited twice but my son and I are in hell
Yep my 3yo vomited twice no problem, 8yo abs his mum flattened currently. We will see if I present. Had it few years back, I remember! Sipping flat cola is helping my kid nothing else stays down!
I have these symptoms but what if the diarrhea is explosive uncontrollable watery and excessive. I’m having more diarrhea than vomiting. You had said if the vomiting is more than the diarrhea then it’s probably Norovirus but what if the diarrhea is more than the vomiting.
It took me some decades to learn about what are on everyone’s Hands especially on the Finger Nails. Everyone must soaks their Hands long & using certain Nails Brush brushes a lot under the Nails before you prepares foods. If it was possible we all should cut off all our Nails very short. We needs our nails. So cleans them well & properly. You are so right that the Alcohol wipes, Alcohol liquid Hand Sanitizer do not work. It is not that Alcohol products do not worked. It does worked but just not effective. It is because the product contain much less & less high% of the Alcohol content.
Taco truck at my cousin's huge wedding rehersal dinner handed out norovirus 5 years ago. Half of folks started falling ill right after the reception ended. People who got it first thought they had drank too much, but eventually realized that wasn't quite it. My parents were the only ones that lived near the venue so their house basically became an emergency ward. Luckily symptom onset was pretty spaced out over 48 hours so we took turns caring for eachother. Interestingly the aunts/uncles were the last to get it. One guy we hardly knew we legit thought might die but he didn't have health insurance so he locked himself away from everyone and refused to go to emergency room (yay america!). Bride and groom only got it a week later just in time for them to have to postpone their honeymoon :(. I'll never forget puking my brains out with my cousins. We call it the Brown Wedding. Here cuz I've landed norovirus again and symptoms not nearly as bad. Wondering if maybe I still carry some immunity. A few local schools right now are shut down cuz so many students have noro. This virus is no joke!
Went to the doctor and they believe this is what I have even though I haven’t puked once but extreme stomach pain (not Covid or appendicitis) and it’s been 9 days so far and hasn’t gone...
@@JoshuaChehov I’m so sorry to hear you’re still dealing with this! If you’re a woman (or have female organs) try looking up endometriosis or adenomyosis. They’re menstrual issues that can cause extreme stomach pains and are really hard to diagnose because doctors normally don’t take woman seriously
5 days.. yes FIVE days. I lived this absolute hell, runs every 15 minutes. Followed by tandem projectile vomiting. I’ve never been so violently sick in my life. 0 stars. Give me swift death instead.
Currently in bed with this wife had it first and the ER did not figure it out probavly because they did not do a stool test. This comforts me though as I was able to nurse her for several days before I had any symptoms hopefully that means mine will be less severe
Nice video mate 👍 interesting and informative. Currently in bed recovering from this after catching it from the kids. No idea that alcohol gel doesn’t cut it when cleaning hands. Think that’s the reason why I contracted.
Last meal before the symptom around not sure ( between 6 - 8 pm) Symptoms occured Day 1 : 11pm - Mild constant headache Day 2: woke up 8 am, Mild constant headache ●10 am - Vomiting like a water dam opened up. (Everything come out in the form of how it went in.. NOT digested) Went to sleep shortly after ●Woke up 1.50pm.. Felt like something stuck in the throat. As I pressed the throat with one finger (just below Adam's apple) instantly vomited. ●3pm had a small meal ●6.30pm got much worse, Vomiting and diarrhoea continues. Even just water intake causes to vomit ●2.40 am now. Headache is constant..never left, at times feels like someone is pushing down on left side of the brain. All symptoms remains.. Constant headache Regular very fluid diarrhoea Regular Vomiting feel Constant feel of something stuck in the throat, though swallowing is ok with some discomfort. Don't feel thirsty or dehydrated, but topping up with small amount of carton juice and water. @@montufatti it was Norovirus. Had Covid19 previously. Though some of the symptoms were similar, on this occasion it was something I ate, which was contaminated. Others in the house developed same symptoms, but were clear within 24hrs.
I have it rn and I think I got it easy(compared to others) I puked about 8 or 9 times in a night but after that I stoped vomiting and now I’m trying to hold some water down so I can eat again. I haven’t gotten stomach pain YET so like I said, I think I got it easy.. I’m praying for others who have it😭
Really great video! One question though: If I have all the symptoms bar vomiting do I have norovirus? Just to be clear: I had nausea, but no vomiting and I had every other symptom.
I think this can occur yes. As the video points out, the virus prevents gastric emptying, which is what causes the vomiting. If your stomach was empty at the time the infection struck, I imagine you might escape that symptom, as I did. Felt like vomiting a lot, but it never happened, and I think it's because I hadn't eaten very much the day before symptoms developed. I had every other symptom.
It's definitely possible to not have vomiting, and in fact it's more common for adults to have only diarrhea from it whereas kids are more likely to vomit
You didn't hear about it during the heavy part of COVID, because people were serious hand washing , mask wearing in supermarkets and busy congested areas. We also used social distancing.. so we did not hear about norovirus spread...
I had a swine flu that lasted 2 weeks when I was 18....I think I got through it because I was young and strong but now at 67 I'm hoping I don't get the three day one or the 24 HR one for that matter!
My son had it it’s been six months now and he is still experiencing cramps and feels nauseous I feel helpless we tried everything any suggestions please?
1st day: Rising temperature, tired, not that very bad 2nd day: Rising and dropping temperature, tired, insane stomach pain 3rd day: Temperature doesn't drop, it stays at ~38, insane stomach pain, fatigue, tired Hopefully my 4th day won't be bad... Edit: 4th day was diarrhea, stomach pain 5th day was better, but still diarrhea 6th I was almost ok Edit 2: 2023-11-19 i have nora/rotavirus again, this time diarrhea included, I must of caught it not long ago, right now I am in the military and these things spreads fast
I usually don't get sick but this thing is really affecting me. Diarrhea, aching muscles, headache, no appetite . I also have flu like symptoms phlegm and fever. This thing is one the worse thingsI've ever caught.

Good luck to day 6 😣😣 when will it end jusus olmighty
Is there any eye pain associated w norovirus, typical of the flu or bronchitis/pneumonia? My roommate had a ~2 day sickness where he had severe stomach pain to the point where he was forcing himself to vomit (I'm still a bit traumatized by the behavior I witnessed. Though he is very overly dramatic when something is really bothering him.). This was about a week ago. I was stressing thinking it couldn't be the flu, as he had just gotten over some other stomach bug a week or so prior to this. He was literally screaming in pain. Came home from work multiple times... It was bad. I had a headache bug a few days before this ocurred w him, but have been lucky so far not to catch whatever he had going on. IF in fact it is/was something contagious. With me promptly cleaning and sanitizing everything.
This is hell wouldn’t wish it on anyone. First day was vomiting the only way that I didn’t feel nauseous was lying down it was awful. On my 4th day and have the biggest headache and pressure I’ve ever felt in my life and also the body aches up my legs and weak arms. Hopefully the 5th day will be kinda better😅 also the dizziness is horrendous
I got this now during Christmas, must be it cus it showed up now 24-48 hours after it and every damn symptoms correct what I have now Diarrhea Headache Fever Body aches ( especially in stomach ) And worst of all puking like every 2 hours and I even fainted once So be careful out there people keep washing your hands and sanitize lol cus this is absolutely awful I got 0 energy cant even get up from bed
Would an injected vaccine help? There doesn’t seem to be any involvement of the adaptive immune system, particularly since leukocyte count is not elevated or only mildly elevated. It would be IgA that would be involved but vaccines promote an IgG response.
I had never heard of it until I jumped up and ran to vomit twice as my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. At this point I vomited 5 times in 2 days.

I was sick for 7 days the vomiting went away but then had uncontrollable Diarrhoea for 6 days. It’s fucking terrible I felt like I was dying. I actually recall saying I wanted to die that day I was in the hospital my body felt horrible . Nothing stays in your stomach after 1 minute. Terrible I remember also telling myself I would of rather had Covid.
I couldn't keep water or Gatorade down for like the first 10 hours.. every time i drank i would throw it right up... This was intense af, but after 12 hours it seems like the major symptoms died down.. just aches and body pains for now
I currently have it, but I get it far worse than anyone else I'm ill for days and literally feel like I'm dying and the worse thing is I need to be sick my cramps are awful and I can't let it out! I always end up in hospital on a drip!
Are you in the UK? I heard its been going around bad at the moment. I thought it were scare mongering when I first heard of it, because of how bad it sounded. You know to get us to follow covid rules. Although its real, apparently my mate had it a few years back, threw up 72 times in a day. Brutal.
Okay so I’m convinced this is what I’m just getting over now Saturday morning felt nauseas. Took Pepto and went to the park with my kids.
One of the worst sicknesses I’ve ever had, covid doesn’t hold a candle to this. I’ve had it twice
I got this twice in my life and I wanted to die! It's brutal!
Really cleans you out. It hit me hard too.
I have it right now-

@@mlw7695 , thanks. I’ve just been taking Calpol tablets and antibiotics prescribed to me by my doctor. Not as bad now, but still.
I had this december 2019 in england. it was bad i had to change under pants few times haha i had worst diareah and stomach pains i have ever had was a nasty virus

I'm here cause I been puking and nauseated. Puking is the worst experience ever!
100%. It sounds like an exaggeration to people who haven't dealt with this, but I seriously wanted to die. It's that violent of vomit and nausea.
Same I passed out trying to walk to the hospital and they woke me up on the road
@@chrisSea1346 seriously i just had this while on vacation in vegas - basically died in the room, we are home now and my partner has it. worst thing ever
@@jeslynlane Oh no! Not on vacation. That’s terrible. So sorry your partner has it too now. Hopefully they get over it quickly. It’s so bad!
This was lovely. Well done and informative presentation! Thank you and blessings!!
Ukkk
Thank you for your very informative videos. (I am a medicine layperson.) Very much enjoying your channel.
i had norovirus, it hurt so bad i couldn’t eat or drink. to release some of the pain use a heating pad:)
Ice chips help too
Yes hydration is the only way to fight that battle.
Got it right now pain constantly
I had norwalk virus... It was hell for 72 hours
I’m sick with it rn, It’s horrible , I wish it ends fastly, because the vomiting is so painful to my throat…
Threw up 35 times in the space of roughly 6-7 whilst having this
This is stuff is no joke - took me 3 days to get over the worst of it (and around 5-6 to fully recover)
By far the sickest I've ever been in my life
Suffered 5 hallucinations (that I didn't even remember) due to the ridiculously high fever I had, couple that with shivering, total weakness, diarrhoea , migraines and just all round pain and hell
I also know exactly were I got this from...
a few days earlier Me, my mum and dad went to a small café in a town in Dorset (England) - we somehow found out that the chef had just recently come back to work after 'having suffered from the flu'
at least we know it wasn't the flew the chef had...
thanks N good wishes from 🇧🇩
I can’t remember the last time I have been this poorly, it is everything in one. I have never felt so weak and helpless. I have cried everyday. Day 4 and I’m starting to feel human again but my belly says otherwise!
just dealt with this for well over 3 days. had fever dreams and nonstop pain with no eating for over 48 hours. would rather have covid again.

Day 3, trying to eat some toast. I definitely recommend the brat diet for when the symptoms are gone and you’re ready to eat again
Had gastroenteritis and had this
Sat here hoping I’m the 1 in 10 people who are asymptotic… if not I’m 22 hours into the incubation period. Husband and daughter have both had it.
Maybe it’s food poising or rotavirus
It took me some decades to learn about what are on everyone’s Hands especially on the Finger Nails. Everyone must soaks their Hands long & using certain Nails Brush brushes a lot under the Nails before you prepares foods. If it was possible we all should cut off all our Nails very short. We needs our nails. So cleans them well & properly.
You are so right that the Alcohol wipes, Alcohol liquid Hand Sanitizer do not work. It is not that Alcohol products do not worked. It does worked but just not effective. It is because the product contain much less & less high% of the Alcohol content.
Can we get these slides by some means?
I had an overwhelming feeling of death I could not feel my legs, i was cold sweating and my blood pressure was very very low. Horrible.

5 days.. yes FIVE days.
Was it less severe tho?
Nice video mate 👍 interesting and informative.
Currently in bed recovering from this after catching it from the kids. No idea that alcohol gel doesn’t cut it when cleaning hands. Think that’s the reason why I contracted.

Last meal before the symptom around not sure ( between 6 - 8 pm)
Symptoms occured
Day 1 : 11pm - Mild constant headache
Day 2: woke up 8 am, Mild constant headache
●10 am - Vomiting like a water dam opened up. (Everything come out in the form of how it went in.. NOT digested)
Went to sleep shortly after
●Woke up 1.50pm.. Felt like something stuck in the throat.
As I pressed the throat with one finger (just below Adam's apple) instantly vomited.
●3pm had a small meal
●6.30pm got much worse, Vomiting and diarrhoea continues. Even just water intake causes to vomit
●2.40 am now. Headache is constant..never left, at times feels like someone is pushing down on left side of the brain.
All symptoms remains..
Constant headache
Regular very fluid diarrhoea
Regular Vomiting feel
Constant feel of something stuck in the throat, though swallowing is ok with some discomfort.
Don't feel thirsty or dehydrated, but topping up with small amount of carton juice and water.
(But thank God, no stomach ache or cramps even from the beginning)
●Though home made hot Ginger tea was made by lovely mother at 7pm, and black tea by 10.30pm, just was too tired to even taste it and fell back asleep.
•Edit: I also have left shoulder muscle pain and occasional sneezing.
3.23 am. Left chest aches..feels heavy, left arm from elbow to edge of little finger tingling ache feeling. Middle left back, by the ribcage aches
Sounds like covid
@@montufatti it was Norovirus. Had Covid19 previously. Though some of the symptoms were similar, on this occasion it was something I ate, which was contaminated. Others in the house developed same symptoms, but were clear within 24hrs.

@@TheEliVerse IM SO SORRY I HATED HAVING IT SM. Thankfully the vomiting stops in about 2 days so I guess that’s a good thing.
@@rickyricardo9710ppl in their teens-20s will have a milder illness still very unpleasant just drink plenty of fluids
You didn't hear about it during the heavy part of COVID, because people were serious hand washing , mask wearing in supermarkets and busy congested areas. We also used social distancing.. so we did not hear about norovirus spread...

I had norovirus this week and my head was in constant pain. Whenever I looked at any screen as well my eyes started to hurt and I felt nausious
If you get it, is there a period of time where you enjoy enhanced immunity to the virus.
Yes some month

This is hell wouldn’t wish it on anyone. First day was vomiting the only way that I didn’t feel nauseous was lying down it was awful. Hopefully the 5th day will be kinda better😅 also the dizziness is horrendous
How are you now ?

Fever
Body aches ( especially in stomach )
And worst of all puking like every 2 hours and I even fainted once
So be careful out there people keep washing your hands and sanitize lol cus this is absolutely awful I got 0 energy cant even get up from bed
Would an injected vaccine help? There doesn’t seem to be any involvement of the adaptive immune system, particularly since leukocyte count is not elevated or only mildly elevated. It would be IgA that would be involved but vaccines promote an IgG response.
Headache can make it worse leading to more vomiting 🤮
I had never heard of it until I jumped up and ran to vomit twice as my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. At this point I vomited 5 times in 2 days.

Here comes the norwalk
I had this so bad I was in emergency vomiting and Diarrhoea and and a fever all the time I puked I dropped sweat. I was sick for 7 days the vomiting went away but then had uncontrollable Diarrhoea for 6 days. It’s fucking terrible I felt like I was dying. Okay so I’m convinced this is what I’m just getting over now
Saturday morning felt nauseas. Took Pepto and went to the park with my kids. Felt a bit weak walking back to the car, but I figured it was because of the heat…
Saturday night at 11:00 pm, went to babies room because she was crying. Picked her up to change her, but instantly had to run to my bedroom and pass baby to my wife, while I violently threw up into the toilet…
Aches, chills, sweats all night. Sunday morning threw up again
All Sunday just nausea. No appetite
Monday I’m telling myself I’m all better but I can’t bring myself to eat anything really.
Tuesday I’m still lying to myself, saying I’m better but I can only eat tiny amounts of food.
Tuesday night, 8pm-10:30pm….. I’m shedding it, non stop lol
By 11:00pm I feel fine. And I’m starving for the first time since before I was sick….
I haven’t had the stomach flu since I was 5…. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. My preschooler brought it home last weekend and I guess it took like a full week for me to get it and show symptoms
