I have never ever watched anything or even cried so hard or felt so much anger that i was clenching my teeth while crying, with my fist shaking uncontrollably. This really made me realized that we should all wake up from this bubble that "people change" or "can be trusted to uphold integrity". I think it was the amount of trust they gave her just because she was a doctor, it wasn't fair, to Andrew, Zachary and especially his parents who had to endure all this, twice.

This documentary made me feel so incredibly helpless.
It boils your emotions down to the essence of sadness and anger, when there is nothing left to hold on to, when life strips you of your loved ones, your hope, your redemption and any amount of sanity trying to rationalize what has happened and why you could not prevent it, only raw emotions are left to overwhelm you.
In a very tragic way this story will make you experience loss the same way everyone else will, since there is nothing left to think about at the end of it, no way to re-approach it, no way to salvage a moral to the story, no interpretation, just raw emotion.
Incredibly powerful, unless you want to spoil yourself this life lesson and the twisted reality of it, please give it your full attention and dedicate yourself the time to watch it in full and to take a break afterwards.
Powerful, educational and I am especially impressed with the strength of Zachary's grand parents, truly wonderful people.

The case of Josh and Susan Powell and their two young boys is another hear wrenching one that could've been avoided easily. Sadly, there are many cases like this. I understand that our justice system and law enforcement cannot be precognitive but hell, after someone has obviously completed a crime like turner did, and was convicted, to say she was no longer a danger because she killed her victim is mind-bogglingly dense. As if her psychology was healed as soon as she committed murder. As if the victims family doesn't deserve closure. As if she should be able to live out the rest of her life with no consequences when she took that luxury away from her victim in a cold and calculating way with premeditation. I don't think punishment is truly the important part of incarceration. I believe in rehabilitation... however, it takes a lot of work and the subject must be willing. I think most importantly incarceration is to remove a threat from society and then try to rehabilitate them if possible, not just torture them until our prison guards are as sick as the worst criminals (if some aren't already). Even to give Turner advice is crazy and obviously against normal procedure to say the least. :(

Lynnygreen using a real child’s death as a twist in your documentary is sick, if this documentary was truly for the grandparents. He would’ve focused more so on the memory of their son and grandson. Less so on tricking the audience. If he actually made the film for them, he wouldn’t have put that in, or he would’ve structured it different. It’s for shock factor, for an audience to be surprised. Degrading an infant child’s life into a plot device wack.

I have no words.. it was the most powerful documentary I have ever seen. a movie has never made me so angry before! it's better to not do any research on the case before watching in order to get the full effect this story possesses. they should put a warning before the film rolls that explains how emotionally draining it is!!

"How's our baby today?" "Mommy loves you." "Mommy misses you." *(puke)* "It's a surprise for you from Zachary." "You can put a picture of me and Andrew in it." *(hurl chunks)* OMG, a judge tells the suspect how to file an appeal to the same judges order to incarcerate! And another judge let's the suspect out saying she is not a danger to the public, because she's already killed the person she was angry at! *(drowning in vomit)*

    • @PaddyMcMe
      @PaddyMcMe 7 лет назад +54

Yeah that final bit of specious reasoning was the most insane of them all, 'She's already killed her target so she is no longer a threat to public safety.'
I hope that judge is found out for that, fucking deranged logic.

I've just watched this movie a few minutes ago and i know now it's going to leave a mark on me for a very long time. I didn't regret watching it though. This kind of movie about these people who are promoting justice & exposing the insufficient gov's justice system should be made and talked about more, rather than all those docu movies about serial killers who have no rights to be remembered at all.

This is a documentary to watch alone, unless you like people see you in a significant emotional event. I consider myself stoic, and fairly clinical, but this documentary opens all the vaults and locks around my emotions and tears then out of me.
There are injustices like this everyday and sadly until those who work in the legal systems are held directly culpable we will never see change.

You can hate me our whole life for it later, but your LOVE for this family and the circle of Xtra family you will come to know will change the way your emotions carry you! I don't think I've ever cried as much as I have when I watched this documentary. It was so raw and touching from the core, SPOILER ALERT: kate and david were so strong to say the least, words cannot describe the amount of pain they endured - may they find the peace they deserve now that their loved ones rest in peace. It was truly the governments fault after the first case, they failed by carelessly to prevent the actions of a monster.

What a WONDERFUL friend this director was. I wonder if the man who was murdered ever knew how true of a friend he had? I’m about to watch this documentary so I haven’t seen it yet but I can still say he was a true friend already. Most people, in my opinion, never have such a sincere friend in someone. I’m not sure if I do either. Maybe one but she’s more my sister. I really don’t want to cry but from the comments, I’m afraid I will when I watch this.

It’s a heart wrenching documentary, especially when it is revealed that the son that Andrew had, who never got to meet him and to whom this movie was supposed to be for, was himself killed by his own mother at just 13 months of age.
Zachary would be turning 21 this year had everything that happened to him not have happened; Andrew would have been turning 50.
RIP to both of these souls, had their whole lives cut short because of selfishness and the failure of the courts to do anything about this…
