River; "Funny thing is, this means you’ve always known how I was going to die. All the time we’ve been together you knew I was coming here. The last time I saw you-the real you, the future you, I mean-you turned up on my doorstep with a new haircut and a suit. You took me to Derillium. To see the Singing Towers. Oh, what a night that was. The towers sang, and you cried. You wouldn’t tell me why but I suppose you knew it was time. My time. Time to come to the Library. You even gave me your screwdriver. That should have been a clue. There’s nothing you can do."
Ik i would of loved to see more of her and capoldi. They just felt so homely together. Both now old in spirt as it's river's second to last story and capoldi is just, well old.

This is a great analogy. To me River Song's theme makes me think of water in a way on journey across a river. Tne journey starts off quite peaceful if not slightly melancholic and then it becomes more sad and a bit more desperate, as if the rider of the boat went down the wrong way path and wants to avert courses, similar to River when she tries to avoid the Doctor dying and her being the cause of it.
River was such a wonderful character. I mean, she suffered so much and I think it's a shame, that she didn't get the attention, she was supposed to get. -She was so damn sassy -She was intelligent and strong -She beat her own destiny by falling in love with the doctor -She wrote a book about her own parents dying (!) -She grew up without her parents and was raised to murder -She loved the Doctor so deeply, which you can see in every scene. I mean, you can't deny, that Rose liked the 10th Doctor more than the 9th and that Clara liked the 11th more than the 12th. But River... River loved them all equal. She is his wife and I'm so sad, that they didn't showed more of their relationship.
I agree with you I was hoping to see episodes with the 11th doctor and River together in the second part of Season 7 ... and nothing ... -_- arrival of Clara . Especially since River song is the only one he marries . (maybe i’m wrong…I didn’t saw all the episodes). River is my favorite too.
But she is in the second part of series 7 in The Name of the Doctor, with the 11th Doctor, Clara, Vastra, Jenny and Strax. And the Doctor has also married Marilyn Monroe (in A Christmas Carol), Queen Elizabeth I (in The Day of the Doctor) and Cleopatra (mentioned only) but River Song is the only one of those who seems to mean anything to him.

Probably one of the best parts of the 11th Doctor's travels: the mystery, sass and intrigue surrounding her character was always just a great part to those episodes.
River's story tears my heart up. I've never seen such an example of fine story-writing. Nitpicking be damned, I felt her arc was a masterpiece, and it made it even better than Alex Kingston performed her perfectly.
And that's it. He would destroy stars and galaxies, just for that one person, which is River. His soulmate, his passionate lover, allthough they can never be together. And he knows that she is the awefullest person who he ever met, and he loved her so, so much, he even took her 25 years out for dinner, just to not let her go that fast. I just love how much they cared for one another and how deeply bonded the two were.
River Song. Melody Pond. The one character who has such little personal story, but I hardheartedly love to watch. I have watched all the episodes she is in backwards to try and see what is happening through her eyes. It is so fucking sad when you see her in the library and the Doctor has no idea who she is. When she sees this and dies inside I couldn't help but break.
I love how Rivers theme song is similar to Amy's, like a nod to her mother. But I really like the mystery and fun in Rivers theme. There's just a sadness to it, just so despairingly sad. Just thinking about all of Rivers lines about how she dreads the doctor not knowing her, and it's all just in this theme. It's death and sadness, but a tinge of reassurance, just, don't worry, it'll get better. I'll be strong. Poor River suffered so much. She was kidnapped and torn apart from her family, and when she finally gets to meet them, she has to stand and just endure as they all slowly forget her. She literally gave everything up for her family. The only water in the forest is the river. Constant and flowing.
I will shamelessly admit it. This brought tears to my eyes. Because honestly, this is one of the things which I love (and hate) the most about DW. THE FREAKING SADNESS WHICH IS AT THE SAME TIME AMAZING. Donna can't remember the Doctor, River died and he didn't even know how important she was for him in that moment [altough "I have a happy little AU in my head" ;]], Rose is in a parallel universe - but with the Metacrisis Doctor, Amy and Rory...oh f**k, I'm not even going there. Martha was the luckiest from the New DW companions, it seems... But what I wanted to say is that this is amazing and perfect and thank you :3
Hervissa That is what makes Doctor Who so good. That bitter sweet sadness, the crying, the feelings... No other show ever made me cry, but everytime I watch Doomsday I just sit there, crying like a baby... and not just Doomsday, there are so many episodes that made me cry...
I don't think you guys understand- I watched Doctor Who out of order. I didn't watch the fourth season until I had finished the 11th Doctor. My heart shattered in that episode, because I knew exactly who River was and how much heartbreak she was going through and then she died and I cried like a baby because she's one of my favorite conpanions. To you guys, she was a random girl who died. To me, she was like my best friend! (Shut up, you can be best friends with a fictional character.)
oh f*ck..seriously I shivered reading your comment. During seasons 5-6-7 I fell in love with River. Yes she was your best friend she was and is my love. And I am just trying to delete this episode from my memory cause I cant handle the idea of her dying...But what you did..loving her and then watching her die for the first time. Even the thought of it kills me..
i know how u feel. idk wat it was like to not know River but she's also my favorite companion (well if u like to call her that). When i watched her die, I was so close to crying! I was holding them back for sooo long
Even such a dedicated Whovian as myself (just 50 years) feels duty bound to point out that you are in need of therapy - especially if you know how much heartbreak she was going through. So which Doctor were you in love with when you died?
Rumors of her in Series 8! I hope they are true even if its a pre-Library RIver. Be even more amazing if it was a pos seeing her in Trenzalore! the more i got to know her the worse it was knowing we already saw her demise ;(
She cant come back shes stuck inside the libary computer her body was destroyed no way back from that im affraid it is a shame she was a good character and the actor was brilliant.
"We've got 10 minutes, get dressed" "Oh that was so close to the perfect sentence." I miss River. Like, idk why she had to leave the show? We missed so much of they're relationship. River loved the doctor, way more than any companion. She loved all of the faces. We all know Rose liked ten more than nine and Clara liked eleven more than twelve. But river loved them all, no matter what. Her theme is sad and mysterious, which is what she was. When the doctor was sad after Amy and Rory died, she left the Tardis' brakes on because she knew he liked the sound and it soothed him. When he wanted to die, she told him that he was worth it. I wish we couldve just seen more of her and the doctor. We all know the doctor keeps loosing his loved ones, and the fact that he had to let go of River is just super sad because that is his /wife/ and the person he loved the most, not just in a family way, but in a romantic and intimate way. It's just sad because River is my favorite character and we didn't get to see much of her at all.
listening to this it brings back so, so many golden memories. with her final farewell in series 7 I was in tears shouting at the television: "Time can be rewritten you stupid, stupid man!" please river, PLEASE Melody come back.
Well the doctor is actually really old (we all know) so he would need someone mature for him.. River happens to have spunk and shes a genius.. He likes that ;) oh dont we all
It sounds like Alex Kingston sang this theme. One thing Murray Gold did really well was the melodies and making the companions' vocal soundtracks almost sound like them. Even Donna's theme, though vocaless (to my vague recollection), really fit her character. There were vocal (and drum) parts that were not executed too well throughout the Doctor Who soundtracks. However, he produced the largest amount of distinct individual themes I have ever seen in any show. It truly was so brilliantly executed.
I wish river had a bit of screen time travelling with the doctor and had Clara introduced a little bit later, I love the character and wish we saw more of her
River: “How are you even doing that? I'm not really here.” The Doctor : “You are always here to me, and I always listen. And I can always see you.” River: “Then why didn't you speak to me?” The Doctor : “Because I thought it would hurt too much.” River: “I believe I could have coped.” The Doctor : “No. I thought it would hurt me... and I was right….. There is a time to live, and a time to sleep. You are an echo, River. Like Clara, like all of us, in the end. My fault, I know. But you should have faded by now.” River: “It’s hard to leave when you haven’t said goodbye.” The Doctor: “Then tell me, because I don’t know. How do I say it?” River: There’s only one way I’d accept. If you ever loved me, say it like you’re going to come back.” The Doctor: “Well then… See you around Professor River Song.” River: “Till the next time, Doctor.” The Doctor: “Don’t wait up.” River: “Oh there’s one more thing.” The Doctor: “Isn’t their always?” River: “I was mentally linked with Clara. If she’s really dead, then how can I still be here?” The Doctor: “Okay, how?” River: “Spoilers…… Goodbye… Sweetie.” The Doctor: *stares in sadness as his wife disappears*
I feel like the sadness of this music really speaks to the depth of the character. sure, river was sharp-witted and beautiful and strong and larger-than-life, but she was larger-than-life because her life was so unlike any other. she had to make decisions and endure trials that no-one should ever have to face. she was such a well-written, well-performed, multi-faceted character and I applaud everyone who was involved with putting her on our screen.
When you here any of the doctor who themes it basically is the weight of the presence of the entire human race all condensed into one thing. It doesn't hurt and is not frightening but it is more protective and nurturing, with basically surrounds you and helps you stand straight and tall. This is what I like about doctor who is that the doctor is the very embodiment of all that, of every single human beings resistance with fire and water and love and hate and storm and sea in everything we see. I just want to say thank you BBC
You know what I think is kinda cool? So like that one Disney song, you never step in the same river twice. The Doctor never met the same River twice. Every time they interacted they were each different
I love this character. I wish we'd seen more of her years with the doctor, rather than having her pop in and out of sequence. It does give a good idea of what his life must be like, all disjoint and timey wimey wibbly wobbly stuff.
Something reminded me of a song from doctor who, and I just went searching until I finally remembered. Pretty sure it's this, and now I'm just missing her all over again
Brrrr......I'm getting chills all over, I LOVE this episode, and the music fitted the scene perfectly, wonderful acting! It's so sad knowing Rivers fate in the library, I really wished she'd come back, but that's the way it has to be. "I'm Melody, I'm your daughter" DAMN YOU MOFFAT! DAMN YOU.
My Top 5 Favourite Companions: 1. Captain Jack (I just fucking love Torchwood) 2. Rose 3. River 4. Amy (+ Rory) 5. Clara (rubs me the wrong way, death scene was handled well though)
I love River so much; definitely one of my all time favorite characters. Her story arch is one of the most interesting and beautiful things I've ever seen. Her timeline lines up backwards against the Doctor's in such an amazing way. Her birth was also one of my favorite plot twists in the show.
That's the first/last time she ever sees the 12th Doctor, according to what she said in Forrest of the dead. So it's impossible for her to return to see him and in this incarnation without anachronism/ plot holes
The point is River Song hasn't seen the 12th Doctor (or any future doctors) before 'The Husbands of River Song' because she doesn't recognise him, and thinks the 11th died on Trenzalore. And before she dies in 'Forest of the Dead' she says that the last time she saw the doctor he had "a new haircut and a suit" and that he gave her a screwdriver, as seen in 'The Husbands of River Song' so unless this year's christmas special is set during those 24 years, she can't return with the current version of the doctor except as a projection from the library (as in 'The Name of the Doctor')
River Songs theme makes me think of water in a way on journey across a river. The journey starts off quite peaceful if not slightly melancholic and then it becomes more sad and a bit more desperate, as if the rider of the boat went down the wrong way path and wants to avert courses, similar to River when she tries to avoid the Doctor dying and her being the cause of it
He was alone, if even for a few moments, he was alone again. As he always will be, deep down inside, travelling, through time and space, with no true eternal company, save himself. DWI've listening this song since 4 years ago and i continue thinking that is absolutely awesome
It’s amazing to think, had The Silence not decided to create a Time Lord to kill The Doctor, River would never have been there to help and save The Doctor all those times and he’d have never made it to Trensilor, nor would they have had to try destroying the TARDIS, they were basically responsible for their own undoing. Also, he’d probably not even met or taken Amy with him as there wouldn’t have been a crack in her wall, making River’s creation impossible to begin with....
:((((( When I first saw The Library episode, I thought well, that's interesting I wonder who she is. Now I see it and sob. Mr Moffat, you are not a fair man. Now each time I see Alex Kingston in anything, I cry.
It was confusing and touching and sad when we saw her die in Forest of the Dead but man oh man after knowing her and who is she is it's so hard you watch those episodes. Your heart just breaks for her.
When I found out about the truth behind River Song- it BLEW my mind. I literally sat there, and watched the preview for the next episode (which I never do) and the credits (which I never do as well.) It was such a fantastic twist. Brilliant.
I'm not quite done with season 6 yet, so please don't say anything, but it gives me so much hope to hear that triumphant chord at the end of all this beauty and angst and sacrifice.
Jess Caron And it was! Oh, it was!!!! It was glorious, and the Doctor- he healed, and... I can't believe what he became! And he held River as she... except the worst plot twist escape ever, but beautiful even still! And all along- "and what now shall we play? now summer's gone away" it was play-acting the whole time! The day the Doctor loved himself and accepted hope for himself... the day he become vulnerable, equal... the day they both grew- she did kill him! But play-acting... the stupidest plot device ever, but it was beautiful! There's our Doctor! Haha!!! It's triumph of a kind I had never even dreamed!
+TheMoonRover He played...somebody. I mean, it wasn't Barty Crouch Jr. - at least not the brilliantly mad fanatical servant to Voldemort that JKR wrote in the book - more a ridiculous parody of the character. But that's true to form for the Steve Kloves script adaptations of those films...
not my favourite character, but she was bad-ass, and she died the loneliest of deaths. Her beloved was right there, in front of her, and he didn't know who she was.
"River, you and I, we know what this means. We are ground zero of an explosion that will engulf all reality. Billions on billions will suffer and die. " "I'll suffer if I have to kill you. " "More than every living thing in the universe? " "Yes." "Your girlfriend isn't more important that the whole universe." "She is to me!" She really is her father's daughter :)
Yes! And the Doctor gets there eventually after years of separation for him and a whole regeneration. It's in the fight over who is crashing the ship into Darillium. "River, not one person on this ship, not one living thing, is worth you!" "Or you!" Love these two together.
oh how much i love this. i see all these comments and go what am i missing out on. i did the exact same thing, ive been through every way except for even more loss to find my feelings in reality, and you guys get emotional on a fictional character. and im gonna qoute the doctor here somewhat but, your fear and emotion makes you so much stronger than anyone like me. i may be closer to a heartless warior than most but that doesnt mean im any stronger or less easily defeated. you are amazing for that, and dont let anyone else tell you otherwise. the first time i saw river die, i had a heart. i cried tears like you, like any eprson who felt like they could know her. but now? now i feel like the doctor. i may not know the pain of a million voices of dead calling out to me inside my head, but i know how it feels to be alone. even when i know im not. it hurts. it always hurts. and it always will. anger, confusion, frustration, sadness. i didnt block what i wanted to, i just threw out everything that made me human. i feel like a dalek in so many ways.so once again, you are the most powerful people, and maybe even race, in the entire universe. dont let anything tell you otherwise.
I rewatched the Silence in the Library/Forrest of the Dead earlier and it was legitimately emotional for me. I'm not a massive fan of Doctor Who and I haven't consistently watched it since Capaldi took over (even before then I thought the quality had dropped) but, if there's one thing the series did good, it's this character. Over several years they made a character with such love and consistency that I can't help but feel attached to, even after so long, and in many ways makes me wish I could still watch the show and be so satisfied. If nothing else, this show gave a fantastic arc to a fantastic character, and still managed to honor the original appearance which made her so intriguing.
The only episode I really truly loved out of the second half of season 7 was "The Name of the Doctor" because I knew River would be there and then there was that moment at the end between her and the Doctor and I almost cried. I miss her so much, terribly actually. Their love is tragic, traveling in opposite timelines, her seeing the people he can no longer. I was scared they would try to write the Doctor and Clara together as lovers, but then Moffat reassured me that that wouldn't happen.

This is one of my most favourite lines in the entire show.
Wonder how viewers reacted if it were a Bowler. After all in WHISKEY CAVALIER the script writer made fun about that haed wear.

I cried. I cried even harder when she said "goodbye... sweetie"

gaaaah stopet! my eyes are watering!
Oh my god I could die... ♡
Aaaaahhhh my heart! 😭😭😭
Oh I hate you
I like that this theme played when child melody regenerated on the streets, the music cues are always the most clever hints
Probably one of the best parts of the 11th Doctor's travels: the mystery, sass and intrigue surrounding her character was always just a great part to those episodes.
Don't forget the "Hello, sweetie" part.
Andrey Rybak and the "Spoilers" God i love that
I didn't really like her character, but you're right, her story is absolutely brilliant!
Gin Ichimaru I love, when she say this ... Oh , if River Song don't come back in the 8ª Season, i will miss her ,
guilherme rodrigues She will be her. Remember the end of The Name of the Doctor.
River's story tears my heart up. I've never seen such an example of fine story-writing. Nitpicking be damned, I felt her arc was a masterpiece, and it made it even better than Alex Kingston performed her perfectly.
Doctor: There were times that those words would destroy stars, galaxies ...
Amy: What words are these?
Doctor: Hello Sweetie
And that's it. He would destroy stars and galaxies, just for that one person, which is River. His soulmate, his passionate lover, allthough they can never be together. And he knows that she is the awefullest person who he ever met, and he loved her so, so much, he even took her 25 years out for dinner, just to not let her go that fast.
I just love how much they cared for one another and how deeply bonded the two were.
Laura Koini I also loved it when River picked on the Doctor or made him look not as smart as he is. Like a good wife should do.
Oh no the world around me is crumbling who said hello sweetie
I miss River.. :( Her theme is so sad and beautiful.
Dusia yea it really makes u feel
+Dusia She's not gone. She was in season 8 and I bet she will also be in season 9.
+Emily Morse river was not in season 8
+Dusia She will be back in season 9
+Nasty_Nipples 123 Apparently she's back for 9's Christmas special
They couldn't have gotten a better actress to play this character.

Are you familiar of Jim the Fish?
Listening to this after watching the episode "Husbands of River Song"
Elif Nur Akkuş same my hurt feelings... 😢
:(
I wish we could have seen more 12/River they were so good together
Why would you do that to your self?
@@willow-eo2ns i cried for 3 hours straight when i first watched the episode.
The scenes involving River and the eleventh Doctor are truly some of the best moments of the series.
But what I wanted to say is that this is amazing and perfect and thank you :3
"Sad is happy for deep people."~Sally Sparrow. ;)
Joyce Lim Amen
Hervissa That is what makes Doctor Who so good. That bitter sweet sadness, the crying, the feelings... No other show ever made me cry, but everytime I watch Doomsday I just sit there, crying like a baby... and not just Doomsday, there are so many episodes that made me cry...
wouldn't call Martha lucky but yeah
oh BOY have we got news for you
I don't think you guys understand- I watched Doctor Who out of order. (Shut up, you can be best friends with a fictional character.)
with me it was exactly the same :,(
oh f*ck..seriously I shivered reading your comment.
You watched out of order? *River voice* Spoilers
Random person: Who's theme is this?
Me: SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Moffat, I'm trusting you do to the right thing...BRING RIVER BACK!!!!!!!!!
Shane Hazelwood They brought her back in Name of the Doctor so it is plausible
***** yeah she was just a projection her real body is dead all that exists of her is her mind inside the libarys computer
Good news!
The simplicity of the song itself makes up for the chaos in River's life. It's just that well done. Kudos to you, Gold.
Play River's, Amy's, and Rory's theme at the same time. It sounds magical
Try Rose's and Ten's together.
PLAY ROSE'S THEM and SONG FOR TEN (REPRISE).. never has two pieces of music gone together so beautifully!
You should try River Song's theme & The sad man with a box :)
Rory doesn't have a theme
This music makes me more sad after watching The Husbands of River Song
I can't stop crying about it, man. I'm obsessed
+Jack Wilson Still crying.
Well. I watched Silence of Library after it, and it was soooo sad...
"We've got 10 minutes, get dressed"
"Oh that was so close to the perfect sentence."
I miss River.
River could return in season 8 since the Timelines of River and the Doctor arent in sink
Greyard white its sync
the never meet and know the same
alex is way older than matt but why do i think they're both are really fit together?
It's ironic that Alex Kingston and Matt Smith were about twenty years apart yet Peter Capaldi and Alex Kingston are only four years apart
Well the doctor is actually really old (we all know) so he would need someone mature for him.. River happens to have spunk and shes a genius.. He likes that ;) oh dont we all
+Marina Ortega-Madueño that's why I think this christmas is going to be amazing :)
+Marina Ortega-Madueño Alex Kingston is in her FIFTIES! Wow. She looks good considering.
Wait, wait... WHAT?! I thought that she is something between 35-40 years old 😱😱. She looks really young!
2:06 gets me emotional.
me too
ikr
It sounds like Alex Kingston sang this theme. One thing Murray Gold did really well was the melodies and making the companions' vocal soundtracks almost sound like them.
Even Donna's theme, though vocaless (to my vague recollection), really fit her character.
There were vocal (and drum) parts that were not executed too well throughout the Doctor Who soundtracks. However, he produced the largest amount of distinct individual themes I have ever seen in any show. It truly was so brilliantly executed.
I wish river had a bit of screen time travelling with the doctor and had Clara introduced a little bit later, I love the character and wish we saw more of her
She will always be alive, in the library. (Season 4 episode 9)
It must’ve been so hard for the doctor to fall in love with her after already seeing her die 🥲 best companion theme tune out of them all 💔
River: “How are you even doing that? I'm not really here.”
The Doctor : “You are always here to me, and I always listen. And I can always see you.”
River: “Then why didn't you speak to me?”
The Doctor : “Because I thought it would hurt too much.”
River: “I believe I could have coped.”
The Doctor : “No. I thought it would hurt me... and I was right….. There is a time to live, and a time to sleep. You are an echo, River. Like Clara, like all of us, in the end. My fault, I know. But you should have faded by now.”
River: “It’s hard to leave when you haven’t said goodbye.”
The Doctor: “Then tell me, because I don’t know. How do I say it?”
River: There’s only one way I’d accept. If you ever loved me, say it like you’re going to come back.”
The Doctor: “Well then… See you around Professor River Song.”
River: “Till the next time, Doctor.”
The Doctor: “Don’t wait up.”
River: “Oh there’s one more thing.”
The Doctor: “Isn’t their always?”
River: “I was mentally linked with Clara. If she’s really dead, then how can I still be here?”
The Doctor: “Okay, how?”
River: “Spoilers…… Goodbye… Sweetie.”
The Doctor: *stares in sadness as his wife disappears*
I feel like the sadness of this music really speaks to the depth of the character. sure, river was sharp-witted and beautiful and strong and larger-than-life, but she was larger-than-life because her life was so unlike any other. she had to make decisions and endure trials that no-one should ever have to face. she was such a well-written, well-performed, multi-faceted character and I applaud everyone who was involved with putting her on our screen.
I like to think that the Eleventh Doctor would go to the Library every so often to talk to River...maybe through the computer or something.
Just watched the Name of the Doctor. I cried so hard!
R.I.P. Handles
Dan Cobble She said she watched the NAME of the Doctor lol not the TIME of the Doctor.
yup. well, both were sad, but this music appears in the Name of the Doctor, and this is when I cried :/
Dan Cobble even dalek cried when handles shut down
Chiba Sophie Cha same
I love how in the middle of her theme song(around 2:00) it sounds so alien music like as to point out her time lord DNA.
DAMN YOU.
My Top 5 Favourite Companions:
1. Captain Jack (I just fucking love Torchwood)
2. Rose
3. River
4. Amy (+ Rory)
5. Clara (rubs me the wrong way, death scene was handled well though)
+ComputerGamerify that is the best response to a comment I've ever seen
donna???????????
hmmm......I dunno......
And Donna
What about Donna
Starting on 2:01 to 2:40 there is a sound burning..
Yep, sorry. The Doctor's funeral boat from The Impossible Astronaut. I couldn't edit it out without cutting half the music.
titanmonarch okay
+Jodie Samson You can hear the water aswell.
To be honest, I think the fire and the water are a pretty nice touch
SarahForeshadow13
Maybe, but we'd like the "pure" version.
Prof. River Song
my favorite character (other than the doctor himself of course!) and my favorite theme song
I love River so much; definitely one of my all time favorite characters. Her story arch is one of the most interesting and beautiful things I've ever seen. Her timeline lines up backwards against the Doctor's in such an amazing way. Her birth was also one of my favorite plot twists in the show.
River, we miss you.
shootybaking Always❤❤
i absolutely love this, definitely one of my favourite composures. i love river so much, i really like clara's theme too, but this is my favourite.
The worst thing about River's story is the knowing of how she is going to die and that it is getting closer and closer
"I consent and gladly give"
*spoilers joke* I hope River shows up in series 10. She might not cause I feel like the Christmas special was a sendoff for her.
That's the first/last time she ever sees the 12th Doctor, according to what she said in Forrest of the dead. So it's impossible for her to return to see him and in this incarnation without anachronism/ plot holes
its the last night she sees him. a night is 23 years so they could show an episode back in time.
The journey starts off quite peaceful if not slightly melancholic and then it becomes more sad and a bit more desperate, as if the rider of the boat went down the wrong way path and wants to avert courses, similar to River when she tries to avoid the Doctor dying and her being the cause of it
this song always gives me the thought of their kiss in her cell,
I was rewatching "Day of the Doctor" and the part of her theme from Trenzalore started playing when 11 said that was where he was going.
Here I go listening to this song over and over again, because I miss River Song so much! Oh! Here comes the crying! :(
Hello Sweetie
*_Spoilers~._*
"There were days, there were many days, these words could burn stars, and raise up empires, and topple gods. "
"What does this say?"
"Hello, sweetie."
Hi honey, I'm home.
Please edit your comment and put a spoiler warning.
Why ? Those happenned ages ago !
In the forest doesn't have pond but have only river...
Melody becomes song when you call
I really hope that she comes back cause I love her so much!
She made show so interesting !
What I love about her theme is how the voice at the main part sounds like a Tardis :-) child of the Tardis indeed
He was alone, if even for a few moments, he was alone again. As he always will be, deep down inside, travelling, through time and space, with no true eternal company, save himself. DWI've listening this song since 4 years ago and i continue thinking that is absolutely awesome
"The day’s coming when I’ll look into that man’s eyes, my Doctor, and he won’t have the faintest idea who I am. And I think it’s going to kill me."
my stupid head heard that and was like- "oh god it's gonna happen soon isn't it" and then i realized it had already happened and cried my heart out.
By far the best Doctor Who character
Whenever I listen to this song, I think of a mother crying over her lost child.
“River didn’t get it all from you, sweetie”
Can never bring myself to watch "silence In the library" anymore. Did it once after capuldi took river to derillium and couldn't help but just cry.
*Spoilers*
It was confusing and touching and sad when we saw her die in Forest of the Dead but man oh man after knowing her and who is she is it's so hard you watch those episodes. Your heart just breaks for her.
Well, I guess you could say this is
River's Song.
TalkWithYourMusic NOOOOOOOOO😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
i think that thw whole thing with river was amazingly clever, really and i really love her character. also matt has donde a great job.
I'm glad they finished River's arc but I'm so so mad they never showed at what point River finds out the Doctor's name
It's when she gets married.
@@groudonor12 Nah. He tells her to look into his eyes. Juuust finished watching that episode.
I always thought it must be when he's dying in Let's Kill Hitler - the only other time we ever see him whisper something to her.
I always thought it must be when he's dying in Let's Kill Hitler - the only other time he ever whispers something to her that we don't hear.
I love how her theme mirrors 11th Doctor’s theme The Mad Man With a Box”
they heavily foreshadowed that the girls would be river in the end of the season 6 premier, by playing this when the girl regenerated
Spoilers!
I have just seen the husbands of river song and I am still crying😢
It sounds like she's singing the vocals to this.
I'm not Murray's biggest fan when it comes to his newer scores, but this is one of his best. It's up there with Utopia and Season 1
I'm playing this at the same time as Amy's theme. Enchanting, impossible, and, above all else... Timey-wimey. XD
When I found out about the truth behind River Song- it BLEW my mind. I literally sat there, and watched the preview for the next episode (which I never do) and the credits (which I never do as well.) It was such a fantastic twist. Brilliant.
Best character of Moffat era
''It's alright...it's quite alright...I'm dying. But I can fix that. It's easy really...see?'' *Timelord regeneration glow begins...*
This is 1 of the best theme songs ever
I miss River :'( I hope she will come back in the season 9!
Kim Fayeulle she is in a computer , see silence in the library and forest of the deads.
+Kim Fayeulle She will ;) www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho/entries/32369834-a751-4dca-8829-b1a9ec3fb1cb
River's story was such an amazing twist! Amazing, Moffat.
It's weird to think that the doctor was traveling with his mother in law and father in law in series 7 lmao
No you dont understand, im OBSESSED
Okay but David Tennant showed up as Kilgrave at the beginning for a Jessica Jones advert and honestly it's so great to see him play a villain.
same! when he said 'trust me, you want to see this' I kept expecting him to say 'trust me , I'm the doctor'😅
+DoctorPotterHarryWho 1 haha same
He played a villain in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Barty Crouch Jr.
"You've got all of that to come. You and me, time and space"
IT HUUUURTS
not my favourite character, but she was bad-ass, and she died the loneliest of deaths. Her beloved was right there, in front of her, and he didn't know who she was.
why did you write this, this is painful ;_;
Anyone listening to this amazing track in 2020 has heart beyond the known boundaries of soul
"River, you and I, we know what this means. We are ground zero of an explosion that will engulf all reality. Billions on billions will suffer and die.
"
"I'll suffer if I have to kill you.
"
"More than every living thing in the universe?
"
"Yes."
"Your girlfriend isn't more important that the whole universe."
"She is to me!"
She really is her father's daughter :)
Yes! And the Doctor gets there eventually after years of separation for him and a whole regeneration. It's in the fight over who is crashing the ship into Darillium.
"River, not one person on this ship, not one living thing, is worth you!"
"Or you!"
Love these two together.
oh how much i love this. i see all these comments and go what am i missing out on. i did the exact same thing, ive been through every way except for even more loss to find my feelings in reality, and you guys get emotional on a fictional character. and im gonna qoute the doctor here somewhat but, your fear and emotion makes you so much stronger than anyone like me. i may be closer to a heartless warior than most but that doesnt mean im any stronger or less easily defeated. you are amazing for that, and dont let anyone else tell you otherwise. the first time i saw river die, i had a heart. i cried tears like you, like any eprson who felt like they could know her. but now? now i feel like the doctor. i may not know the pain of a million voices of dead calling out to me inside my head, but i know how it feels to be alone. even when i know im not. it hurts. it always hurts. and it always will. anger, confusion, frustration, sadness. i didnt block what i wanted to, i just threw out everything that made me human. i feel like a dalek in so many ways.so once again, you are the most powerful people, and maybe even race, in the entire universe. dont let anything tell you otherwise.
See you around, River.
For some reason that comment just triggered a lot of river feels. :')
I liked river a LOT more than the doctor she is just such an interresting Character.
