I liked it being that way, you had to plan your moves ahead, nowadays my translocators are less tactical and more like a get out of jail card.
I loved it much better that way after the change I stopped being a sombra main sadly

Developer team just got tired of the game, there is no other explanation. This game had amazing potential, but Blizzard just fucked it all up

@@shunnie8482 No they're massively working on overwatch 2, which meant extremely slow updates and no new events, they care for the game but are trying to build his lore with overwatch 2.

The ARG would've been cool if the countdown at the end actually meant something.
Yeah that was the big turning point for the ARG. Everyone was on board up until then, if they had announced Sombra then it would've been perfect.

No a year and a half is too long for sure. Also I never complained about it as I didn’t start playing the game until the last 2 or 3 months of the arg
Yes I did get drawn out a bit too long but if it was half as short, I think it would’ve been much better.

Probably not anymore with the Activision CFO forced into place handle all budgeting, so they are probably cutting down in costs like that

I miss when Sombra could get charge from packs, I wish they'd just nerfed how much charge she got from it.
The problem is that the ult charge that healing does is x3 than if you just do damage...

There is actually one team-Element Mystic, using Hackfist strategy during the Gauntlet and won the championship, which imo really contribute to their winning.

The sombra teasers and everything make the game feel like there's more love and effort and fun in it, I know it can require more work than is necessary, but I'm hoping they try something like this again, maybe making it more meaningful at the climax
Her and widow are my favorite characters. I got onto a scrim team bout when goats took over and my weakness as a zarya pushed me towards sombra and we could play and split matches with teams above our level like that. It was a satisfying feeling seeing my play actually improve with them.

That time with hack only having a 0.5 second cast-time was so oppressive.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the bug that plagued Sombra for half the season of first year of Overwatch League. The 2-second Hack nerf mentioned at 6:42 was also accompanied by a change to Hack's targeting in relation to line of sight. Since pro players were concerned that Sombra would be too oppressive in OWL, these nerfs were pushed to Live Servers, *without* *PTR* *testing* , so that Patch 1.21 would be available for Stage 3.
The LOS adjustment had effectively "broken" Hack, causing it to constantly break and drop its target despite having clear LOS. This rendered Sombra unplayable, and became a frustrating gamble as to whether or not Hack's consistency was reliable. This persisted for both Stage 3 and Stage 4 of OWL.
Eventually Hack's LOS issues were fixed in patch 1.25, _over_ _three_ _months_ _later_ , and went on to be the patch played in the OWL Playoffs. While I understand the Overwatch team was likely working on the Sombra rework at the time, it was absolutely infuriating to deal with Hack's LOS issue for 100 days.
I miss old sombra, the character had so much more depth and skill in playing back when you had to manage your invisibility and translocator timers.

@@zerojiro1615 Even if she's easier to navigate and manoeuvre now, she's not really as strong anymore which kinda sucks. I loved her playstyle and kit and how you could almost always use her and do decent (granted you know how to play her) and not get decimated by people running barrier. I really hope the barrier nerfs help.

I always play sombra, i picked her when i saw the cinematic and havent looked back since. Shes the greatest. Her personality and cockyness is great and she makes me laugh with some of her lines its just great. I love sombra

My favorite was when Sombra was used in place of a flex support on 2cp maps in Apex to farm ults in cycles off of hacked mega health packs. Super fascinating to watch. Also wish they would've mentioned Complexity and TorkTJO using Sombra almost every map to set up ult combos, but I understand why they didn't, as they never really got past 4th in NA
Really enjoying this series! I've only been playing Overwatch for a couple of months so it's been really cool to see how my favorite heroes have evolved!!!

I main Sombra but I don’t think the changes to her invis and translocater were needed because to me it doesn’t match her play style. She had to go in and get out after maybe getting a pick. She was a true assassin and I wish that she didn’t get the changes.

Forgot the BS nerf when 2-2-2 came in like Sombra became useless because no more 2-2-2 and putting more nerfs on her was a horrible idea for anyone just wanting to play the character. Its like instead of Rein getting a passive to reduce cc it increased the durations.

She HAS to be nerfed. Her weapon is too powerful. She actually needs no teamwork because of her hack and her powerful weapon. She is designed for killing single targets. But where is the teamwork aspect? Nerfing her weapon will restore the teamwork aspect
@@SX41799 TOO POWERFUL. HER GUN????? WTF she does less damage than Mercy and she is in the damage category. SHE RELIES ON TEAMWORK thats why she is used in ONLY OWL. NERFING HER WEAPON IS TERRIBLE because that makes her MORE DEPENDENT ON HER TEAM MATE THAN SHE ALREADY IS. Her weapon has an immediate fall off and has a spread bigger than 12 Roadhogs in a grav.
@@sombramemer1230 She is designed for killing SINGLE targets. That means you normally have no chance to survive her in a 1v1. And you tell me her weapon is weak. Look at the stats! 2,4-8 Damage, 1200 damm RPM fast, 2,7 spread fire, and 60 rounds for such a small gun. You can kill enemies with ease and so fast with her without getting much damage. Her hitbox is damn small. She is doing less damage than mercy, that is right. But please compare the weapons. Sombra is Hitscan, Mercy is not, Sombra shoots fast, Mercy does not. There is too little risk for playing her. You don't have to manage your invis. You have unlimited invis, at least 2 translocators at once and you hack and EMP which are MASSIVE Power multipliers. When you play her, and are not completely an idiot, you have the whole game in your hands and nobody can stop you. My suggestion is: Reduce her damage to 1,8-5, increase her spead to 3,3 because she is originally designed for short ranges and not to fight Hanzos in medium-high ranges and at least reduce her Magazine to 50 or 40. Only then you will need your team. Then she have to hack and go away. The teammates have to do the rest. An infiltrator is not a master assassin or a god who can do everything on his or her own. Sombra will be balanced when Genji, Zenyatta, Reinhardt and more have a chance to survive her.

Favorite post launch haracter? Ana, of course! Literally the first character I played when my friend first gifted me the game. Really hard character to play as, but I love her anyway! Orisa and Sombra follow close behind her too!
