In this video, I go through the cast of Survivor: Game Changers and talk about who I personally would have cast if this was a real cast of Game Changers.
Harry Wasnak saw this comment right away and now I’m nervous for this 😂 but I will first say that half of the cast was okay, the other half was not. So basically I think only 8-10 needed replaced
JT is a game changer. The whole premise of game changers was making big moves regardless if they turned out well or not and JT giving Russell the idol fits the category.
Thank you. He didn't look at the theme the way it needed to. Innovations in the gams dont come too often so looking at it that way would produce a cast of 10
@@100amitty yeah, but winning isn't exactly game changing when you stop and consider that someone has to win the game. If you think that people who have won the game are automatically game changers you're essentially saying people like Fabio, Natalie White, and Bob Crowley

Thanks for the video. I started watching Survivor recently. Quarantine + CBS all access = started survivor at season one and have been working my way to present. I just started the Game Changers season and was pretty surprised at the cast choice so I went looking to see if others felt the same way. I guess there a few ways to interpret the term "game changers". Did they change the game as a whole, did they change the game as it pertained to their season, or did they do something that might not be forgotten in Survivor history. Even looking at it almost every way I can come up with, there are folks on the cast that just didn't do anything. Haley being the first to come to mind. Anyway, after watching your video and reading the comments I think the problem with the season is the concept in general. I think it is just too hard to pull off game changers. It really is Survivor Season 34 some players you would like to see again and some you wouldn't.
Wasn’t Game Changers the back up theme for this season. I thought this season was originally going to be something like winner-jury-pre merge groups or something like that. I never felt most of these people were game changers.
I think Johnny Fairplay deserves a spot on the cast for being the first person to fully embrace the idea of treating Survivor 100% as a game and nothing else, doing absolutely whatever it took to try to win.
While I agree that the people swapped out from the actual cast list weren't actual game changers, I would like to see people on this list who had only played once, to give more people a go. In this updated list of 20, literally everyone on this list has played Survivor at least twice already and many have played more than twice. (Kim and Natalie had only played once at that point in time, but they had already won the game.) Right now this updated cast list looks like the 20 most popular / well known contestants.
Of course you’re right that if a player changes the course of survivor history they are a game changer, but that wasn’t the theme I think they were going with for the season. The theme was supposed to be about players who changed the course of their own season(s) with big moves, good or bad. That was why Debbie was a game changer because she orchestrated the Liz blindside in Kaoh Rong and was actively changing the course of that season. That’s just an example and the same can be said for Tai, Aubry and Culpepper etc.
I think Natalie’s biggest game changing thing was the way she performed for the jury before FTC. The acting after the Alec vote and the showyness of the Baylor blindside were so tailored for the jury. The only other instance of that I could think of was Yul giving penner his hat back, but Natalie managed to do that without directly interacting with the jury
Cao boi is very much still mentioned and has a big cult followibg in the survivor community. Also gary s11 was the first person to find an idol and successfully play it (known from post interview as the target)
Best Call... Ami Cusack... Favorite Player of All Time. Underrated for her dominate Game Play in Vanuatu. First leader of the all-female alliance which is the most talked about and feared type of alliance on almost every season. Plus she a huge character that is over shadowed as well. From straight up telling people they are going home to waving machetes in peoples faces... A really good physical female with social prowess who really deserves the third chance in my not so humble opinion... And honestly you should do a video of like underrated all stars or something of that sort. Kinda highlight on over looked players like Ami, Stacey Kimball, Todd, along with others like Dawn Meehan or Christine Shields-Markoski... idk just an idea. Enjoy your videos
To be fair they put Zeke on there because he changed Survivor in a more meta commentary way; his coming out and the response to it was kind of the rationale for why they chose him I think; like the perspective they're coming from isn't just "who changed gameplay" but also "who changed the show itself".
I think JT is a game changer, especially in HvV like that move where he gave the Russel Hantz an idol at a challenge was a massive move. Obviously not a great move but it is a big move
NaOnka and Purple Kelly because after they quit, they made the rule for post-merge quitters to not be apart of the jury. I doubt them wanting to come back though and I don’t think the production would let them back.
That cast would have been epic for Game Changers! However, I would have brought in Jerri, Lex, and Shii-Ann as well. I would love for them to return for a 'Survivor Legends' season!
Gary Hogeboom was a complete game changer from Guatemala that should have been given a chance. First person to find an idol. First person to play an idol. First famous person to lie about being famous. All three big time things that just go under the radar now because Guatemala is a forgotten season
I want any Cusack back so bad! And Kathy ! Stacy might not be remembered but still a game changer! Parvati one of my favourite survivors, however, of she wasn't brought back for fans vs favourite, would she be so iconic? So I'm all for bringing people back even if not that remembered
I think Caleb is a game changer, had a life threatening med Evac and showed that survivor is dangerous to go on. Big dude gets taken down by nature. And the fact that he hasn’t gone to a tribal council I think they wanted to see him play the game. Reminder game changer isn’t always a good thing. JT GAVE HIS IDOL TO RUSSELL, it’s historically something that you should not do. He was *one*of the first people who was loyal to his alliance and actually won. Jeff Varner IS LITERALLY A GAME CHANGER LMAO he got the rules to change about the unfair tie vote w/ previous votes. He brought attention to the unfairness. Your right about hali not being a game changer Ozzy is a huge game changer and I’m surprised he was in contention to be replaced. Zeke got people to draw rocks for him right after he backstabbed the same people. Rob C is obviously the better game changer but he’s obviously never playing again. ANDREA CAME UP WITH THE PLAN TO STALK THE MAIN TARGET LOOKING FOR THE IDOL 💀💀 lord have mercy.. Michaela could’ve easily been replaced with Cydney from Koah Rong lmao lots of questionable replacement choices (mainly winners which I think production was trying to avoid) but ok Sarah was a victim of one of the biggest flips in survivor history. She showed that although you may think your on the top, you need to respect your alliance members bc they’re all on the bottom. 💀💀
JUSS but Caleb isn’t the first big dud to be med evaced. People like Russell and Skupin has more intense med evacs while also being more active in the game.
Y’know, I could see this cast have happening, solely due to the fact that because there are so many winners, they would feel confident coming back. I know Winner Paranoia is not as strong as it was in earlier seasons, but it’s always a possibility and I have to imagine most winners wouldn’t want to come back because of that.
Ok I feel like as a cast maker like this, you kinda have to separate survivor into two groups. Pre HvV and post HvV. imo you can’t just put half the fast from HvV in these casts. I know they are game changers but you have to think about it like anyone past HvV can make the cut. I love Russell and rob and parv but they wouldn’t put all 3 back on the cast again, it’s already been done. I think production tries to use big names from past HvV in these type of all star casts, they aren’t going to bring back players from like marquesas. I’ve seen everyone season but the casual fan hasn’t and it won’t bring in viewers if like Ethan and Kathy are making the cast. People would rather see players like tai or michaela back. (I think there is a case for both of them to be on the cast btw). I just don’t see survivor reaching back past HvV to grab players when there are fresher more popular players to casual fans today. It’s about to be season 40, I just don’t think they are going back that far for players. I also think that just because a player did soemthing first doesn’t mean they did it better. Like honestly does anyone need tina back😂. These are all just my opinions, I do love the videos keep up the good work I look forward to them every time I see a notification!
A better cast would help a little bit, but I just don't see why this season was necessary at all. All-Star seasons should be spaced out much, much more widely so that they can feel special.
I do not think people understand the concept ofr this season It essentially reafers to players who wanted to make a move to change the game but were taken out before they could make the move but it was their willingness to change the game.
In what way was jt not a game changer? He was the first player to have a perfect game(never had a vote cast against him and got all jury votes) and he was the first player to ever manipulate the vote split
Here's what I would pick if I wanted to re-cast Survivor Game Changers: Stays: Tony Sandra Aubry Malcolm Cirie Michaela (she was a pretty dominant challenge threat during the MVGX pre-merge) Sarah (I think they casted her because she had a lot of ideas of how to change the course of the game with the advantages) Andrea Ozzy ( while I'm not the biggest Ozzy fan, I see why many people worshipped his legacy back in Cook Islands & Micronesia) Tai (I give him credit for not playing that overpowered idol for Scott in Kaoh Rong.) Recasts: Stephenie (probably one of the first few successful down & out underdog players to ever come close to winning) Rob Cesternino (one of the most influential and strategic masterminds in the Amazon. He was the ping pong master) Richard Hatch (while I don't particularly find his controversial nude act in All-Stars memorable, he was literally the inventor of the Survivor game styles we know and love to this day) Bob Crowley (while he is old, that doesn't stop him from being the first of many to craft a fake idol and use that as a successful strategy) Jay (He's a bit of a dicey choice because I do see him popular on the Challenge nowadays, he did change the course of the game by swerving last minute to take out Michaela in a spectacular blindside) Parvati (she's a mastermind at playing 2 idols at once and being an iconic player by leading the Black Widow Brigade) Sugar (I think she might not play again due to life events that occurred after Heroes vs Villains, but I feel like she changed the flow of the game by being one of the few players to hold onto an idol until the last days of the game and make it to the finals) Vecepia (she doesn't get a lot of credit for her gameplay. She was able to conjure the boot order at the final 9 immunity challenge by flipping the script with the Rotu members, as well as also having a hand in booting Hunter, one of the early boots that was a camp provider. She also prepared the ingenious move of keeping her luxury item as a study guide for the final 4 immunity challenge.) Earl (I hate that I'm also putting more winners than regular players on my cast, but Earl was the first unanimous jury vote winner in the original Fiji season.) Ian (I think he's a reason why we don't see many standard endurance challenges in the final 3 in Survivor anymore. He gave it up for Tom to win the season just to get his friendship back)
JT is a game changer, it was even said at the beginning that it meant big moves that may or may have not worked out. The Russell idol move is absolutely fitting. This was fitting. I love Ethan too but he is in no way more of a game changer than Ethan. Vecepia is absolutely not a game changer, no, no. And I do agree you're getting too deep with the winners as replacements. Are you kidding me Ozzy is absolutely a game changer! His fake idol move, his surviving again and again on immunity challenges.
my cast would be Tribe 1 1 Rafe season 11- dominated guatemala 2 Earl season 14- dominated fiji 3 Mookie season 14- main player in the four horsemen alliance 4 Kenny season 17- dominated gabon 5 Garrett season 28- found idol within day one 6 Steph season 10, 11, 20- palau legend 7 PG season 15, 31- underdog fave of china 8 RC season 25- dominated team challenge and voted at first tribal during merge 9 Kelly S season 21- queen of purple edit and could have slide deep into the game 10 Kelly season 19- was voted off in the most epic tribals Tribe 2 1 Natalie season 19- winner of the start of new school gameplay beating the dominant tribe 2 Danni season 11, 40- defeated the dominant tribe being the last one standing 3 Francesca season 22, 26- voted out first twice 4 Amanda season 15, 16, 20- first to make it to the end twice. 5 Holly season 21- from losing her head to strategic mastermind 6 Chris season 38- 3rd voted out to winner 7 Davie season 36- mastermind of many epic tribals 8 Cao Boi season 13- invented the split the vote concept 9 Brian season 11- was swap fucked and could have made it deep 10 Jeff season 10- left early due to injury. could have made it deep.
For the Game Changers Cast I think it’s alright except for the fact that there were many people who weren’t Game Changers. The easy fix for that is changing the name and I believe Survivor Champions vs Contenders would’ve been much better received. The Tribes could be Champions: Tony J.T Brad Malcolm Caleb Sierra Sandra Ciera Cirie Aubrey Contenders: Zeke Tai Ozzy Troyzan Varner Sarah Debbie Andrea Hali Michaela I think this simple change makes the 4th ever all returnee season better received
Cao Boi should 1000% be on this list! Stacey shouldn’t because she was a bad player and character other than her “game changing” idea. But Cao Boi was an amazing character and also created one of the most important strategies in the history of the game
I remember Jeff said this season will have the most game changing player in survivor history and you saw the cast and half of them didint do shit in there first season
This is my first time watching this video but JT changed the way Heroes vs Villains actually turned out. If he did not give Russel his idol this season would of been completely different in the end with a Hero actually winning potentially number wise.

Haily proved that in modern survivor it is possible to make the old school mistake of ostracizing a deaf person
Ozzy first player to get voted out 3 times in a season
Debbie most occupations of any survivor
Zeke first transgender Survivor player
Sierra proved that when a great cast member backs out at the last minute, the casting department doesn't care to match the quality, and just puts in any random nobody (although I think she plays an ok game here)
Andrea only player to get booted twice for being in a power couple
Mikayla showed why you should not model the entire game for your alliance with seashells (and/or other small objects)
Cirie 3-2-1 vote
Aubry proves that even in modern survivor a good edit can make you look like a better player than one of the greatest of all time (Michelle Fitzgerald) and cause a major outcry in the community
Tai proves that you can be cast as a hero, participate in the destruction of your camp, and then be edited as a hero
Troyzan helped Kim prove how amazing her game was, as his constant rallying against her caused no harm to her game whatsoever
Brad proved that you can be voted out pre-merge, have America not vote for you to get cast again, and then get cast on Game Changers having not come close to changing the game

Too many winners but I am happy someone finally gave Kathy V some much needed love
I would love for this is to be a Legends season cast!
Michaela and Caleb deserved thier spots in my opinion
While I agree that the people swapped out from the actual cast list weren't actual game changers, I would like to see people on this list who had only played once, to give more people a go. In this updated list of 20, literally everyone on this list has played Survivor at least twice already and many have played more than twice. (Kim and Natalie had only played once at that point in time, but they had already won the game.) Right now this updated cast list looks like the 20 most popular / well known contestants.
JT gave Russel the idol in heroes vs villains
Idk about russel, because tony was already on here and was similar to him
The fact that we didn’t see Russell back in game changers I don’t think he will ever come back
This practically becomes a champions vs challengers season
Of course you’re right that if a player changes the course of survivor history they are a game changer, but that wasn’t the theme I think they were going with for the season. The theme was supposed to be about players who changed the course of their own season(s) with big moves, good or bad. That was why Debbie was a game changer because she orchestrated the Liz blindside in Kaoh Rong and was actively changing the course of that season. That’s just an example and the same can be said for Tai, Aubry and Culpepper etc.
People need to give Cao Boi more credit
Do a runner up rankings video
Russel is definitely a game changer, but how many times does he have to play to realize his strategy is not a winning one?
Who would of thought people who have used new strategies and had success with them by winning the game would have other people using their strategies
even if the people are well rounded players, it’s still fits game changers because if not it’s just going to be a all winner season
This is a legends cast
I think Natalie’s biggest game changing thing was the way she performed for the jury before FTC. The acting after the Alec vote and the showyness of the Baylor blindside were so tailored for the jury. The only other instance of that I could think of was Yul giving penner his hat back, but Natalie managed to do that without directly interacting with the jury
Cao boi invented the idol cancel out
Cao boi is very much still mentioned and has a big cult followibg in the survivor community. Also gary s11 was the first person to find an idol and successfully play it (known from post interview as the target)
litteraly majority of the People that were in game changers were not even game changers. I like Your list btw.
Varner did change the game a bit in Cambodia, but not much in all stars.
Varner wasn't even on All-Stars.
To be fair they put Zeke on there because he changed Survivor in a more meta commentary way; his coming out and the response to it was kind of the rationale for why they chose him I think; like the perspective they're coming from isn't just "who changed gameplay" but also "who changed the show itself".
why is michele fitzgerald not in this cast?
I think JT is a game changer, especially in HvV like that move where he gave the Russel Hantz an idol at a challenge was a massive move. Obviously not a great move but it is a big move
NaOnka and Purple Kelly because after they quit, they made the rule for post-merge quitters to not be apart of the jury. I doubt them wanting to come back though and I don’t think the production would let them back.
How can so many people be the one to start the big move era
What happened to Tom??
That cast would have been epic for Game Changers! However, I would have brought in Jerri, Lex, and Shii-Ann as well. I would love for them to return for a 'Survivor Legends' season!
Jerri Deff shoulda been brought back for game changers.
I’m pretty sure some guy in season 18 did the idol strip thing cause people kept saying he had it 😂 or maybe season 17
Gary Hogeboom was a complete game changer from Guatemala that should have been given a chance. First person to find an idol. First person to play an idol. First famous person to lie about being famous. All three big time things that just go under the radar now because Guatemala is a forgotten season
@@jeffreycraven6231 you mean swap lol
You forgot to mention Kelley Wentworth, she was contacted by CBS to be in S34
RaphPlay Roblox did she decline?
Yes
winners vs legends then I guess cause you got 10 and 10
I want any Cusack back so bad! And Kathy ! Stacy might not be remembered but still a game changer! Parvati one of my favourite survivors, however, of she wasn't brought back for fans vs favourite, would she be so iconic? So I'm all for bringing people back even if not that remembered
game changer could also mean changing the dynamic of the season ur in
i think the theme wasn't just changing the game in the future i see it more as they changed THEIR game
Parvati over Hali is obviously more of a game changer but how many times do you we need the same player?
Your right about hali not being a game changer
Ozzy is a huge game changer and I’m surprised he was in contention to be replaced.
Michaela could’ve easily been replaced with Cydney from Koah Rong lmao
lots of questionable replacement choices (mainly winners which I think production was trying to avoid) but ok
Sarah was a victim of one of the biggest flips in survivor history. She showed that although you may think your on the top, you need to respect your alliance members bc they’re all on the bottom. 💀💀
JUSS but Caleb isn’t the first big dud to be med evaced. People like Russell and Skupin has more intense med evacs while also being more active in the game.
ten winners in 1 cast. imagine if they actually used this cast and divided the winners and non winners
where’s abi?!
i would have put steph from palau and guatemala over ami for sarah's replacement.
I want spencer on this list, he would be good
game file plays yesss loved Spencer
I would be interested if you re-made this list but made a no-winners rule.
Mike Halloway should deff be on Game Changers.
People prob turned down so that's y it was mixed
1/2 of the cast are winners
I do not think people understand the concept ofr this season
It essentially reafers to players who wanted to make a move to change the game but were taken out before they could make the move but it was their willingness to change the game.
Cao Boi not here? He invented the split majority vote!
In what way was jt not a game changer? He was the first player to have a perfect game(never had a vote cast against him and got all jury votes) and he was the first player to ever manipulate the vote split
Manipulate the vote split...wasn’t his idea though Tom suggested it to him. He just was the swing vote there.
10 winners might as well be champions vs challengers
Here's what I would pick if I wanted to re-cast Survivor Game Changers:
Stays:
Tony
Sandra
Aubry
Malcolm
Cirie
Michaela (she was a pretty dominant challenge threat during the MVGX pre-merge)
Sarah (I think they casted her because she had a lot of ideas of how to change the course of the game with the advantages)
Andrea
Ozzy ( while I'm not the biggest Ozzy fan, I see why many people worshipped his legacy back in Cook Islands & Micronesia)
Tai (I give him credit for not playing that overpowered idol for Scott in Kaoh Rong.)
Recasts:
Stephenie (probably one of the first few successful down & out underdog players to ever come close to winning)
Rob Cesternino (one of the most influential and strategic masterminds in the Amazon. He was the ping pong master)
Richard Hatch (while I don't particularly find his controversial nude act in All-Stars memorable, he was literally the inventor of the Survivor game styles we know and love to this day)
Bob Crowley (while he is old, that doesn't stop him from being the first of many to craft a fake idol and use that as a successful strategy)
Jay (He's a bit of a dicey choice because I do see him popular on the Challenge nowadays, he did change the course of the game by swerving last minute to take out Michaela in a spectacular blindside)
Parvati (she's a mastermind at playing 2 idols at once and being an iconic player by leading the Black Widow Brigade)
Sugar (I think she might not play again due to life events that occurred after Heroes vs Villains, but I feel like she changed the flow of the game by being one of the few players to hold onto an idol until the last days of the game and make it to the finals)
Vecepia (she doesn't get a lot of credit for her gameplay. She was able to conjure the boot order at the final 9 immunity challenge by flipping the script with the Rotu members, as well as also having a hand in booting Hunter, one of the early boots that was a camp provider. She also prepared the ingenious move of keeping her luxury item as a study guide for the final 4 immunity challenge.)
Earl (I hate that I'm also putting more winners than regular players on my cast, but Earl was the first unanimous jury vote winner in the original Fiji season.)
Ian (I think he's a reason why we don't see many standard endurance challenges in the final 3 in Survivor anymore. He gave it up for Tom to win the season just to get his friendship back)
Ethan was a strange choice but I respect that
Lol this is winners at war but a little different
Hayden should be on
JT is a game changer, it was even said at the beginning that it meant big moves that may or may have not worked out. His fake idol move, his surviving again and again on immunity challenges.
my cast would be
Tribe 1
1 Rafe season 11- dominated guatemala
2 Earl season 14- dominated fiji
3 Mookie season 14- main player in the four horsemen alliance
4 Kenny season 17- dominated gabon
5 Garrett season 28- found idol within day one
6 Steph season 10, 11, 20- palau legend
7 PG season 15, 31- underdog fave of china
8 RC season 25- dominated team challenge and voted at first tribal during merge
9 Kelly S season 21- queen of purple edit and could have slide deep into the game
10 Kelly season 19- was voted off in the most epic tribals
Tribe 2
1 Natalie season 19- winner of the start of new school gameplay beating the dominant tribe
2 Danni season 11, 40- defeated the dominant tribe being the last one standing
3 Francesca season 22, 26- voted out first twice
4 Amanda season 15, 16, 20- first to make it to the end twice.
5 Holly season 21- from losing her head to strategic mastermind
6 Chris season 38- 3rd voted out to winner
7 Davie season 36- mastermind of many epic tribals
8 Cao Boi season 13- invented the split the vote concept
9 Brian season 11- was swap fucked and could have made it deep
10 Jeff season 10- left early due to injury. could have made it deep.
Natalie is not a game changer lol
For the Game Changers Cast I think it’s alright except for the fact that there were many people who weren’t Game Changers. The easy fix for that is changing the name and I believe Survivor Champions vs Contenders would’ve been much better received. The Tribes could be
Champions:
Tony
J.T
Brad
Malcolm
Caleb
Sierra
Sandra
Ciera
Cirie
Aubrey
Contenders:
Zeke
Tai
Ozzy
Troyzan
Varner
Sarah
Debbie
Andrea
Hali
Michaela
I think this simple change makes the 4th ever all returnee season better received
Requirements to fill most spots: interesting character, social player, athletic player
Requirements to replace Jeff Varner: ✨gay✨
Cao Boi should 1000% be on this list!
Stacey shouldn’t because she was a bad player and character other than her “game changing” idea.
But Cao Boi was an amazing character and also created one of the most important strategies in the history of the game
I remember Jeff said this season will have the most game changing player in survivor history and you saw the cast and half of them didint do shit in there first season
This is my first time watching this video but JT changed the way Heroes vs Villains actually turned out. If he did not give Russel his idol this season would of been completely different in the end with a Hero actually winning potentially number wise.
