    I did this to a (right only) Red Wing Postman Chukka, but used Shoe Goo adhesive. After using the moleskin on my heel for a while, I switched it to the boot inside, and it worked. Shoe Goo is flexible and made to bend in moving shoes, I believe. Good vid, I love "how to" hacks. Very handy.

    Loctite fabric, plastic, rubber, cloth glue would work nicely. Great to learn you are doing two videos a week. Much appreciated.

    I have the same problem with lots of pairs of shoes, in the UK we have self adhesive heel cushions. They stay on and are super comfortable, no more broken skin. I rely on them when my shoes rub.

  • @erick.rodrigues86

    I used to have the same problem with a pair of black wholecut oxfords. I tried some padding tape on the back of my heel and also a gel padding stripe glued to the shoes, but nothing worked. So I took them to a cobbler. He charged an incredible 2 euros to fix them here in Portugal.

      Erick Rodrigues what did he do to fix the problem?

    There is also such thing as "heel liners". Available on Amazon. They're also padded. You can also place a shoehorn over the section you're having a problem with and slide your foot over it. I use a shoehorn for all of my footwear. Because I want the Integrity of the shoe to remain as new as possible at all times. I can see someone having this problem that's actually going sockless. Are you having this problem using no show socks as well?

    How often should you replace the moleskin?

  • @idrese4427
    @idrese4427 5 лет назад +1

    That came out better than expected! Did the padding make the shoe more comfortable for you at the heel? Or does it dig in?

    • @40OverFashion
      @40OverFashion  5 лет назад +1

      It is more comfortable right now, but we’ll see about that long term. Some folks are saying that superglue isn’t flexible enough to hold long-term.

    Glue is a good idea but I think a shoe cement, that wouldn't get hard, would have been a better option. I was looking at a pair of thise lacoste. Definately going to try that out.

    @keithosorio8598 5 лет назад

    Have you tried wearing the commercial blister protectors on your foot instead of padding the shoe? I have a pair of loafers that cause a blister even with no show socks. I just stick the blister pad on my foot when I wear those shoes and I’m good to go.

    • @40OverFashion
      @40OverFashion  5 лет назад

      Hey Keith! I haven't tried those, but I guess I'd rather pad the shoe instead of myself. I wouldn't want the pad to show if I'm wearing shorts.

    Hopefully you are using a flexible superglue... Otherwise it will freeze rigid.
    My wife had a cobbler sew in a price of leather down the back of a boot. You could do with white leather, then you could wrap it right over the edge, and sew it through

    Question for you on another note - any advice for guys who have to wear an LFO brace for stability when walking as far as sneakers and stuff like that that you have heard from other viewers or might know yourself that are fashionable but also functional? On the other foot wear an extra 🧦

    Or its better to spend a little more and get quality sneakers with which you wont have that problem. Cheap leather, textile lining, synthetics and made in Bangladesh by kids Vs High-grain quality leather, great construction, 100% natural caoutchouc rubber, Leather lining and made by hand in Europe. They dont even have to be super expensive like Koios or whatever...there are brands which are less expensive than Koio or Common Projects, but which still fulfill all the criteria i just listed. For example the Mephisto Cristiano is hand made in France with super high quality leather and is a 50 year old Brand known for comfort. They're more expensive than Lacoste or Adidas but less than Common projects and you still get the same benefits. There are other low lux brands like that out there. I think its worth paying a little more, than buying Lacoste/Adidas etc which are frankly all the same, probably come out of the same factory in Vietnam and you will then lose even more money and time buying glue and fixing them up.

    In the first place, you shouldn't buy shoes that don't have cushioning around the ankle region. These are poorly designed shoes. Not to mention these are also downright ugly. There are many good white sneakers which have cushion at the back. The Adidas Stan smith is one of them.

    • @40OverFashion
      @40OverFashion  5 лет назад

      Point taken, but I like this design for a spring/summer minimal sneaker. I feel that the Stan Smiths are a little too bulky.

  • @ttop64
    @ttop64 5 лет назад

    I sometimes have problems with eventually poking a hole in the top of sneakers where my big toe pushes and rubs against the top of the shoe. I use the thicker mole foam and cut a piece in the shape of the toe box and push it up in place. Problem solved.

  • @urbanjungle9600

    Super glue is too inflexible and will de-bond very quickly. A rubber based flexible contact adhesive will be a better long term fix. Patch test it first though on the shoe tongue just in case it bleeds through the fabric.

  • @budmiller3823

    I will be surprised if super glue is a good long term solution. Contact cement would be the right adhesive for the job IF it doesn't soak through the material and discolor it.
