And looking at the state of today's entertainment industry vomiting out "reality" formats at an alarming rate, it was alarmingly accurate.
Also gotta love that the spotlight that fell at the start of the movie has a name tag "Cyrius" wich IIRC is the name of a Star... There's litteraly a star that fell on earth lol...
@@Mugthraka That's not just a single star, or a random part of the lighting system. If you actually read the full masking tape label, it says "Sirius (9 Canis Major)" which means each one of these lights, or possibly multiple of them, are supposed to cue as a single collective system (Canis Major, which contains Sirius, [the brightest star in the Northern hemisphere, by the way,] has 8 main stars, but based on the fact that this is the 9th light on that constellation, it's possible that either Sirius required more lights due to being so bright and only one fell off, or that since they were emulating the entire sky, sun and all, that Sirius was the 9th light because technically there are thousands of stars in that same window of space despite Canis Major being only made up of the main 8.) That means, to put into perspective without just using the easy method of bringing up the weather-tech, that the stage of this dome doesn't just have normal sets of stage lighting like a normal theater that cue in different colors or patterns, but has thousands of lights on each section of the dome built to cue as different constellations in the night sky. That is fucking crazy and horrifying. They did ALL OF THAT just to trick an abandoned baby, the first corporate adoption ever, that was picked out of 6 specifically because Truman was preterm, and turn his life into an "authentic show."
I would love to hear a lawyer break down how they would represent Truman in getting 20 odd years of pay from a network. He worked, got paid money for the job he was doing, to pay his "bills" and food.. but he didn't get paid for working as the most famous television star of all time.. or for the product placement and endorsements of every single thing he used and touched.
The trickiest bits would probably be those first 18 years, since the corporation was his legal parent. But that also means there would be child labor laws to contend with.
With all the data collecting that all your devices do on your shopping habits, social media habits, etc along with their algorithms and ai analyzing data they don't need a camera in your head. They probably know you better than you know yourself. There was a story about how Target sent a teenager a maternity catalogue in the mail based on her data and her father saw it and went to to the store to yell at the manager before finding out that she was indeed pregnant.
This film requires multiple viewings because it's so thick with easter eggs. Watch the scene again where Truman talks to Marion while he's restocking the vending machine. During the first shot where the camera is inside the machine, Marion is placing candy bars IN IT. But as the conversation goes on, Marion just keeps pulling them back out and putting them back in.
i always find it interesting that the audience in the film erupt in joy when Truman finally gets out. you'd think that they'll be disappointed because the Show is over, but no, it's the exact opposite. This movie works so well because Truman is such a goodhearted honest person, we as viewers enjoy watching him just as much as we root him to 'free' himself and discover the truth also this movie isn't trying to be overly preachy(unlike Hollywood nowdays) , the tone of drama, social commentary, and comedy is perfectly executed, and Carrey is the P e r f e c t actor for this role. Truly a timeless masterpiece
I have a theory that the set malfunctioning, with the light falling, the rain following him, the radio, everything was all because of the group of people Sylvia works with working to have the set fall apart so that way he could see through the lie.
The mirror scene were Truman draws the helmet with soap was improvised by Jim Carrey. Another amazing drama movie of his is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Sooo good.
Yeah, I think his performance in Eternal Sunshine is more gripping and varied. I prefer Truman Show as a movie but the contrast in quality is basically non-existent.
This is such a great film. Peter Weir is one of those directors that you don’t automatically think of when putting together a Best Directors Ever list, but he really should be. He only made 13 films in 36 years, and so many of them are top tier classics. My personal favorites of his are The Year of Living Dangerously, Witness, Dead Poets’ Society, The Truman Show, and top of the list-Master and Commander.
Promotional materials for this movie reveal that Marlon is literally the only one in the town who feels guilty about manipulating Truman, to the point that in the real world, he's a borderline alcoholic and has even had drug problems in the past. In a deleted scene, he notices Truman attempting to escape, but doesn't say anything in order to give him a chance.
For reference, the show had been running for 10,901 days when the film begins, and the show begins with Truman's birth, thus Truman is exactly 29 years, 10 months and 12 days old when the film begins.
There's a deleted scene where the director and cast are discussing future plans for the Show, and one of the themes is finding a way for Truman to have a child with the new love interest and keeping both father and son stuck there. The worst thing is that the actress is like: "oh, yes, I don't care. " The only one who seems to show some empathy for Truman in that conversation is his "best friend".
Absolutely love how you two made less and less jokes as the movie went on. A beautiful gradient starting at "Haha, Let's see what goofy hijinx Jim Carrey gets up to!" And ending at "That is the most fucked up thing I have ever seen I have chills."
That point about comedians in serious roles is so true, Steve Carell absolutely nailing his role in The Big Short is another great example of that. You guys so quiet at the end of the movie there shows how impactful this movie is, absolutely appropriate.
Such a brilliant film. The emotional hit when he steps out of his 'life' at the finale is unforgettable. Carrey is pitch perfect here, and the Krystof character as played by Ed Harris was brilliant...the mad auteur!
I think a great example of a series that knew when to end is The Good Place. Even though NBC and fans wanted more, Michael Schur (creator) said they had a layout for 4 seasons. And they didn't want to stretch it out and "tread water just because the water's warm."
This movie was a real trip back in '98. I saw it in the theater and I could never have dreamed how far ahead of its time it was. The majority of entertainment is now reality TV.
Three interesting things. Knowing it’s all a show some things make more sense, for example the twins pushing him up against advertisements and that every camera shot is from a hidden camera, shown by the circular outline and obscured views, odd angles. The travel agent came out with a make-up bib on as they were not prepared for Truman to show up at the Travel Agency and had to hurriedly get her camera ready 😂 Also, this was Jim’s first serious role and no one knew if it would be a major flop or if he could pull it off.
This is one of my all-time favorite movies, and I was lucky enough to see it in the theaters as a teenager. There are all kinds of little details that you'll only notice on multiple rewatches, and some great deleted scenes. Also, the movie is quite different from the original script. One of the early drafts was much darker and action-oriented. In the ending, Truman shoots down a helicopter, escapes off the set, has to sneak out of the studio, and nearly kills himself and Christof.
Truman Show, Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind were his most popular dramatic movies. He did other dramatic movies like the Majestic and Number 23, but those were flops unfortunately
I saw this movie back in highschool on a field trip and going into it I was like I've never heard of this it's gonna be a crappy movie and boy was I so beyond wrong, this movie is amazing and the fact that this movie essentially happened to a person named Nasubi in japan in the 90s makes the events of the movie so much more horrifying.

This is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen, and also one of Jim Carrey’s best roles. Still has that signature humor that makes us all love him, but he’s great at dramatic roles as well and I think that he’s more versatile than people realize. This character was a perfect blend of likable and hilarious while still making us sympathize with his situation and his lack of control in his life. I hate the idea of a child being raised by a film company just for a show. It’s something that isn’t that unrealistic when you think about it, I could absolutely see this as a reality at some point in our future when people get bored of regular reality tv and want something fresh and different.
I know it’s better for the “story” that Truman said his “in case I don’t see ya…” line, but i wish Truman had given the finger and said something like “f*** off” when the “creator” asked him to say something to world.
Fun fact.. im a therapist, and while i was still in college, we learned about a social contagion literally called Truman Syndrome. After this movies initial release ages ago.. it caused a sizeable enough of a cluster of people to become so paranoid and believe that they were living in a situation like Trumans. Center of their worlds.. being constantly filmed and watched. Kinda bizarro funny.. Theres a ton of everyday characteristics/interests people have, that if mixed correctly in someones head, that easily identified the phenomena. General, Social Anxiety, bit of ego, and, most important, susceptibility to paranoia or conspiracy theories. So yeah, lol.. after this movie hit the theatres, a brief social contagion spread that became known as Truman Syndrome. More ya know.. 👀👀
The great thing this movie has going for it is, it's so original that you don't know where it's going and it does not fall into tired tropes and formulas. Another Jim Carrey movie where he again plays more drama than comedy is "the Majestic," which I really liked, and I think is quite underrated.
Honestly, this is one of the more frightening, paranoia inducing movies ever made. Truman slowly realizing that his entire life is a lie, even his parents, wife, and best friend, and that he is literally up against the world, even the moon, the sun, and the weather? Brr...
This may be the first time I've ever heard you two truly engage in a debate. This seriously could've gone on for hours and I seriously could've sat through it all just to hear you come to this same conclusion. Thank you for this reaction and Merry Christmas!
One of Jim’s best movies and one of the 90’s best imo. I recommend watching it again on your own time as you’ll understand it more and find new things. Watch Pleasantville too!!!
I remember when Truman said "That one's for free." After the spaceman on the mirror thing, the entire movie theater erupted cheering, cause we knew he knew.
"What is... HAPPENING!?" when Trueman screaming at his wife and when he hugs his dad and cry.. i think that was the moment when he finally realised his whole life was staged ... is the moment when this movie got's me. And prove it Jim Carry is a great actor.
So, when I worked at the South Pole Station in 2008, I used to tell the new people, jokingly of course, that they weren't actually in Antarctica. I would quiz them about how they had arrived at the South Pole. At the time, the majority of the personnel were flown on a C-130 transport plane. These aircraft don't *exactly* have windows, they're more like 3 inch portholes. The flight from McMurdo Station is roughly 5 hours. *Most* people fall asleep on the flight. So, that was my reasoning. They fell asleep and were transported to the "dome" that is a stand-in for the real South Pole Station due to the erosion of the continent from some wacky reason. I would also tell them that if they just walked about 1 mile "that way" (pointing in any direction) they'd run into the wall, follow that in either direction and they'd find a door and be able to get back to New Zealand. I can't say that I was ever able to get the whole thing out without cracking some, which lent to no one ever believing me, but it was a fun way to pass the time in a place where there isn't a whole lot to do. Cheers.
Its a pretty smart movie. No commercials but they manage to advertise things, like the random things his wife talks about. They don’t want him to leave the town so they make a way to keep him there. But there’s also malfunctions too, but also ways to cover them up. The other girl was mostly an extra but they didn’t want him to end up with her but rather wanted a made up relationship. They literally control everything!! I love the music, and the ending makes me tear up 😢
this movie is the perfect social criticism. Really confronts you with how messed up society is and makes you question how far is too far. You could literally discuss this movie for hours and hours on end. Definitely one of the best movies ever made absolutely brilliant and original. This exact concept can never be done again in film because it's such an amazing concept
The actors playing his wife and best friend are named for Meryl Streep and Marlon Brando. Laura Linney, who plays Meryl, said that her character had necessarily grown into a rather ruthless young woman, negotiating hard terms for her contract renewals - she got a $10,000 bump every time she and Truman had sex. 🤣 If you like this kind of story, you should definitely check out _Series 7: The Contenders._ It's an episode of a fake reality show where the contestants have to hunt each other down and kill each other. Each week a contestant is eliminated until there's only one left, and that one goes on into another round of episodes. It's fantastic. Stars Catherine Smith, who played Buffalo Bill's kickass victim in _The Silence of the Lambs,_ and she is FIRE.

A strong commentary on consumerist culture when Truman show is such a major facet of everyone's life, and yet they just change the channel after the show is over.
The Truman Show has without a doubt the best meme ever “What does this have to do with anything!?”. Overall it’s a great movie and easily one of Jim Carrey’s best of his career.
This was my favorite Jim Carrey film until Eternal Sunshine came out and it became far and away my favorite of his performances. As I got older, I found his comedic performances less and less interesting, but his dramatic roles I grew to love more and more.
Great reaction! This is such a great, entertaining and thought provoking movie. I always wanted them to make a Truman Show 2 movie so they could explore Truman trying to learn how to live in the real world and navigate how crazy different it is.
Ugh the audible sounds I made when I saw this video!! I’ll never forget telling my friend how I sometimes feel like everyone is in on a joke about me that idk about and she was like “lol ok Truman” I was confused and then she pulled up this movie. You guys are right that Jim Carrey’s best movies are the ones where he plays dramatic roles. BUT, if you think that THIS was his best role: You need to watch *Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)* his TRUE BEST ROLE! (And a total mind trip, with an all-star cast!)
Uh… no, I mean yes he does do great in drama. But those aren’t his best roles… he’s the greatest comedic actor of all time. So his best movies are definitely his comedies
Two guards saying “What else is on?” is frighteningly accurate to what we see on your channel every week😮. Speaking of which, what else is on next boys?😂

I remember a teacher in middle school put this on in class for us to analyze the themes presented in the movie (god complex, freedom/improsonment, mass media (and this was way before reality tv was even a thing), etc... It's been one of my all time fav's ever since (yes, Eternal Sunshine is also in my top 5). Even just the bold way of filmmaking - it's an hour into the movie before the audience gets filled in on the 'show'. The end is perfection.
This is one of Jim Carey’s best films, and in my opinion, his next best is another serious film he did early on in his career, called ‘Doing time on maple drive’. He was amazing in it and it is well worth watching.
Definitely check out "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" for a similarly groundbreaking performance by Jim Carrey, in one of the farthest and best departures from his usual style. And, if you love that movie too, I beg you two to give my favourite movie of all time a try "Synecdoche, New York". It's written and directed by the guy who wrote Eternal Sunshine, and I promise you it'll be the most unique movie you've ever seen, money back guarantee. If I had to try and quantify it, it'd be a philosophical dark comedy fever dream. It's beautiful and sad and isolating and comforting and hilarious. Philip Seymour Hoffman's magnum opus performance, in my opinion. Please, please give it a shot. I think it would resonate with you guys really really well.
You nailed it - ask any actor and they will tell you comedy - with all of its nuances in delivery, timing, etc - is the hardest thing to pull off so it really comes as no shock that really naturally talented comedians (Ex. Robin Williams) also have solid dramatic acting chops... its just a question of whether audiences are willing to accept them in a serious role.
Eternal Sunshine is a MUST WATCH. Truman's my SECOND favorite movie of all time, Eternal Sunshine is the first. Both Jim Carrey, 'high concept' movies. Both Dramedies. Both have a SciFi/fantasy elements. But very different movies. Please put Eternal Sunshine in your polls.
You're BOTH correct on GoT - the TV producers were eager to close up shop and go work for Disney and basically just winged it the last couple of seasons with little to no input from Martin for the simple reason that Martin lost control of his own story years ago and had no direction or advice to provide them. He became lost in his own story - it happens; from time to time, a writer will craft a tale that breaks free and swiftly outstrips their ability to tell it. A Song of Fire and Ice was intended to be a trilogy loosely based on the War of the Roses; he started writing it in 1991 with the first three books coming in rapid succession but by the time he hit the fourth book in 2005, the story grown unwieldy before completely grinding to a halt under its own weight. After that third novel, he spent almost twelve years writing books four and five (1700+ pages combined) and the story did not move one inch beyond the overall situation left at the end of the third book in 2000. I gave up on the tale back in 2011 - it's almost 2023, the series has come and gone and he STILL has not managed to progress the story let alone bring it to a satisfactory conclusion - and likely never will.
One of my 'repeat' faves! I've lost count of the number of times I've watched The Truman Show. ~ I totally agree about having a set ending for a show. Unfortunately, many shows get cancelled before they get there. One of my favorite shows is The Good Place - four short seasons with a perfect ending.
Easily one of the greatest films of all time. Aside from being such an ingenious concept, Jim Carrey is fucking phenomenal in this film! Hands down one of my Top 10 favorite acting performances of all time!
I read that even Trumans car and his friends Ranger were product placements because that model year of Ford Taurus and Ford Ranger hadn’t come out yet when the movie was made and when they twins pushed him against the wall it was so the ad for the chicken was on camera. It would have been interesting if there was a sequel that showed him adjusting to the real world.
The filming location *IS A REAL TOWN!* Seaside, Florida. (My brother lives there.) The post office and Truman’s house are real. The area still looks VERY similar in 2022. Many businesses used have framed photos of Jim Carey and other stars proudly displayed. ☀️😁
It's such a fascinating commentary on how we as a society can get so sucked into reality TV and how far a network / show runner could go to bring orchestrated "entertainment" to the world. And how we quickly just move on to the next thing. When in truth it's been a huge manipulation of a man's life, emotions, everything. But did it matter to most of the viewers watching? Because they were so invested that they didn't think about it. In my mind, there was probably a small section of the public that protested what Kristoff was doing to Truman, but their protests were overrode by all those who keep watching anyway and those who are just happy because it's making them money. It's pretty mind-blowing. What would we be okay with so long as we find it entertaining? For such a funny movie, that thought is pretty creepy and disturbing, which gives this film so many interesting layers. It's such a unique film - I really love it, and feel it's definitely one of Jim Carrey's best films.
As much as I love Ace Ventura, this is deff #2 in my top Carrey movies. He's so good and that ending sign off and bow get me teared up every time. I'm not sure that I agree with the "Dad returns and his fear of the sea disappears" part. Sure, you can look at it that way. But I always took it this way: When his best friend brought his Dad back out of nowhere, it's when he finally realized that its all fake. He began being suspicious before, but that was the final cue and piece of evidence that kicked the door open for him and made him realize that he has to escape. Hence why he was crying when he hugged his Dad. He knew that his "Dad" was in on it too. He connected the dots and figured that the door out can only be at the end of the water. But that's just my interpretation.

It would be more like 29-30 years actually
The trickiest bits would probably be those first 18 years, since the corporation was his legal parent. But that also means there would be child labor laws to contend with.
One of my all time favorite movie lines in context to the movie "You never had a camera in my head"!
The scary part is we don’t know when there’s a camera that’s aiming right at us especially nowadays.
@@shawnlittle3091 you have one in your hand as you are looking at my comment right now.
@@404cp In context with this movie, which came out in 1998, they didn't have that capability at that time!
My favorite line from the movie is are you listening to a word I’m saying
The guys pushing Truman against the sign were doing it for advertising purposes. To show Truman next to the sign.
One of the greatest movies of all time and infinitely rewatchable. There are so many layers to this film, Peter Weir operates on a different level.
It's Marlon.
i always find it interesting that the audience in the film erupt in joy when Truman finally gets out. you'd think that they'll be disappointed because the Show is over, but no, it's the exact opposite.
This movie works so well because Truman is such a goodhearted honest person, we as viewers enjoy watching him just as much as we root him to 'free' himself and discover the truth
also this movie isn't trying to be overly preachy(unlike Hollywood nowdays) , the tone of drama, social commentary, and comedy is perfectly executed, and Carrey is the P e r f e c t actor for this role.
Truly a timeless masterpiece
I have a theory that the set malfunctioning, with the light falling, the rain following him, the radio, everything was all because of the group of people Sylvia works with working to have the set fall apart so that way he could see through the lie.
Truman then proceeds to sue everyone from the studio to the government!
The mirror scene were Truman draws the helmet with soap was improvised by Jim Carrey. Another amazing drama movie of his is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Sooo good.
I consider this his second best role. The best is still "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind".
Yeah, I think his performance in Eternal Sunshine is more gripping and varied. I prefer Truman Show as a movie but the contrast in quality is basically non-existent.
Absolutely.
Man on the moon too
The Eternal Sunshine and Truman Show forever changed my taste on movies
Same with Doing Time on Maple Drive, underrated serious movie
Did you include leap years in the count?
There's a deleted scene where the director and cast are discussing future plans for the Show, and one of the themes is finding a way for Truman to have a child with the new love interest and keeping both father and son stuck there. The worst thing is that the actress is like: "oh, yes, I don't care. "
The only one who seems to show some empathy for Truman in that conversation is his "best friend".
This movie was way ahead of its time and holds up today in our world
Truman's birth was filmed live and he has been on camera every day since then till the day he walks out that door at the end.
Bruce Willis started in comedy too. He switched to drama and action because he felt it was easier.
You should check him out in "foxchaser" if you have a chance he was amazing
The travel agent came out with a make-up bib on as they were not prepared for Truman to show up at the Travel Agency and had to hurriedly get her camera ready 😂
Also, this was Jim’s first serious role and no one knew if it would be a major flop or if he could pull it off.
I believe in the trailers at the time, they tell you he’s on a tv show and he doesn’t know.
@@Ivy94F few reacting these days watch the trailers, but yes.
I think you guys would enjoy Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as well.
Best Jim Carrey performance imo
Truman Show, Man on the Moon and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind were his most popular dramatic movies.
He did other dramatic movies like the Majestic and Number 23, but those were flops unfortunately
I saw this movie back in highschool on a field trip and going into it I was like I've never heard of this it's gonna be a crappy movie and boy was I so beyond wrong, this movie is amazing and the fact that this movie essentially happened to a person named Nasubi in japan in the 90s makes the events of the movie so much more horrifying.
Eh, they screwed Nasubi over to keep the show going longer, but he signed up knowing fully well what the show entailed.
@@Eidlones he was also allowed to leave at any time but he was promised fame and fortune so he stayed and he never ended up becoming famous for anything other than that horrible show.
@@atomic_hok omg I seen his case didn’t he break out in hives every time he put on like actual clothes because he was undressed for so long ?
Love the fact the Ed Harris was a last min casting to replace a actor who dropped out last min. He had just days to prepare and knocked it out of the park.
My guys always shit talk everyone's hairline but cleverly have strictly never shown theirs in any slightest video ! I adore the humor about the hairline, but... It would be fair game if we actually see how both of your hairlines look like ! 😂😂😂
I have to say a huge compliment. Both of you, as silly as you are in every intro, show genuine emotion in every one of your videos. This is not a matter of course for reaction channels. You are doing a great job... thank you
Two of my favorite movies: The Truman Show and Dead Poets Society. Both incredible endings. Both directed by Peter Weir
Yes and they both Star the 2 best comedians ever!
i was just thinking that Robin Williams could have played Truman and it would have been interesting.
@@cheebees yes, Robin Williams was considered as well Gary Oldman. That really would’ve been interesting
It’s something that isn’t that unrealistic when you think about it, I could absolutely see this as a reality at some point in our future when people get bored of regular reality tv and want something fresh and different.
have you ever seen ed tv with mcgoanghy
@@chadwellington2524 no
Y’all must see The Majestic. Another movie with Jim Carey showing his dramatic prowess. Set during the early days of the red scare during the Cold War
I know it’s better for the “story” that Truman said his “in case I don’t see ya…” line, but i wish Truman had given the finger and said something like “f*** off” when the “creator” asked him to say something to world.
i love how much commentary there was after the movie. i could tell ya’ll really enjoyed this.
Fun fact.. im a therapist, and while i was still in college, we learned about a social contagion literally called Truman Syndrome.
One of Jim Carey's best performances of his career. Phenomenal movie. Happy Holiday Bro's. 🎄🎅
This is the movie that showed the world there was more to Jim Carrey than a rubber face and funny voices.
I love her pin “ hows it going to end” because he thinks she’s talking abt the world and in a sense she is but it’s really talking abt the show
JIm Carey is much more than a comedy spectacle... i love that he did this movie... and only can do this movie.
The actress playing Sylvia, is BEAUTIFUL, especially her eyes.
She was awesome on Californication.
It is one of his best!! Glad you guys enjoyed it👍🏻
If you like this kind of story, you should definitely check out _Series 7: The Contenders._ It's an episode of a fake reality show where the contestants have to hunt each other down and kill each other. Each week a contestant is eliminated until there's only one left, and that one goes on into another round of episodes. It's fantastic. Stars Catherine Smith, who played Buffalo Bill's kickass victim in _The Silence of the Lambs,_ and she is FIRE.
Someone commented that you guys "forgot about the intro", and it was great to see you find out with Truman as it went along
As a person who was not a Jim Carey fan and did not find him funny. I was amazed at how good he was and this is one of my favorite movies. He won an Golden Globe for his performance and I believe Ed Harris was nominated for an Oscar.
It’s been one of my favorites ever since, SO underrated and one of Jim Carey’s best performances if you ask me 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
You guys are right that Jim Carrey’s best movies are the ones where he plays dramatic roles.
It actually represents that even if this happened today we humans would all just carry on and not really care
We have a thought of caring but it passes
Hence all the wars
Comedy is hard to do well, and Jim Carrey does it *really* well because he’s a great actor. Loved the reaction guys!
I think the shove against the wall, @4:06, was for the product placement.
This is one of Jim Carey’s best films, and in my opinion, his next best is another serious film he did early on in his career, called ‘Doing time on maple drive’. He was amazing in it and it is well worth watching.
it was literally a 24/7 tv show it never went off.
So happy you two watched it. It's such an incredible movie and Carrey does an excellent job at this role
So excited to see and hear your guys reactions and first thoughts on this movie, one of my all time favorites and a very beautiful film in my opinion!
The pushing into the chicken sign was for product placement thats how they get advertisers.
Plus, there's a scene with Frodo Baggins, Bruce Banner, and Mary Jane Watson smoke so much weed that Carmine Falcone had to show up and help.
Absolute FAVORITE Jim Carrey film
This movie blew my mind.
The Film is like a feature length twilight zone episode where Jim Carrey played the only True Man on the Show. Created by Christ-of😮
Absolutely loved your reaction to this amazing movie. I'm laughing, I'm crying, I'm in a sci-fi, a thriller, a horror movie. Incredible movie. Xx
This is one of those movies that get better each time you watch it. You will keep picking up on little hidden things in the world.
This and Yes Man are my favorite Jim Carrey movies.
One of the greatest movies of all time 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think is maybe one of if not his best role. We started to realize that he could be one hell of a dramatic actor. Great reaction.
It always chokes me up when Truman is pounding on the dome doing everything he possibly can to get out and you couple it with the music, big ooof.
~
I totally agree about having a set ending for a show.
Who knew people today will live in their own shows, this movie is amazing
Well the first episode of Real World aired in 1992.
How do you mean?
🙄
Hollywood made Jim Carrey crazy. His movies were so awesome and he never won anything.
Another seriously role for Jim Carey was Doing time on Maple Drive. I think it was a made for tv movie but his performance was so good
The filming location *IS A REAL TOWN!* Seaside, Florida. (My brother lives there.)
The post office and Truman’s house are real.
I just said this in the full length comments, but I would watch a full, even hour long, video of you guys discussing this movie.
So glad you finally reacted to this movie. The reactions and discussions from you guys are always great.
As much as I love Ace Ventura, this is deff #2 in my top Carrey movies. He's so good and that ending sign off and bow get me teared up every time. Bathtub guy never fails to amuse lol I hope you check out some of Robin Williams' more dramatic roles as well: One Hour Photo and Insomnia. Have a great holiday you guys!
One Hour Photo!! What a movie!
Oh yes definitely One Hour Photo. I'd also like World's Greatest Dad.
Saw this in my subs, gasped hard, immediately paused another movie reaction, said "Oh hell yes!" and clicked this!
One of my favorite films ever, this is gonna be an EXPERIENCE!
My favorite Jim Carrey movies are “The Truman Show” and “Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind” the two films that are dramatic. Eternal Sunshine is even more out there, it’s a romantic science fiction drama…
