I'm an idiot. After 27 years, I'm just now realizing that the lemonade tastes like ass because Edgar ate all the damn sugar...😂
son of a bitch i never considered that 🤯
I was watching another reactor last year and it hit me. I love it when that happens tbh.
I too am stupid, I didn’t notice that the flame thrower guys were incinerating alien guts at the beginning.
If someone’s ass tastes like sour lemonade, then they’re into some freaky deaky sh-it.
Ooohhh I never realized that either 🤦♀️
Fun tidbit: the written test didn’t matter, Jay passed because he was the only one clever enough to use the table
The test was about thinking outside of the box. Unorthodox and Unconventional.
wana get down on this
Tommy Lee Jones has equally great line deliveries. His “Try it,” in reference to having loved and lost, was actually heartbreaking, making that happy ending perfect.
TLJ was perfect in the role and should have been showered with awards. Rip Torn too.
I was watching the making of mib and they where saying how they wanted will to be the obvious funny one and tlj to be the dry humor one. Tlj even said he thought he wasn't funny at all until he saw the whole movie
“A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it.” - Agent K
Sad reality he's right
@schadenfreude5349 Well, except for the ones who turned into Reavers.
That's how we ended up with certain political movements at various points throughout human history. Not talking about any particular movement, please don't target me, I have fish. 😢
@@mr.joshua6818 I’m not accusing anybody of anything.
@@victorhernandez8723 good, cause I have fish...
This movie is to the 90’s what Ghostbusters is to the 80’s.
this comment deserves more likes, i really dig that.
Good comparison
This was huge when it came out in 1997. 1997 was a great year for movies. So many bangers. This was on the heels of Independence Day and this was the movie that really cemented Will Smith as a Hollywood star and box office draw. As Good As It Gets is a 1997 Oscar nominated film that has been almost forgotten, even though the winners for Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor are all in it. Gran Torino gets a lot of praise, but As Good As It Gets is where that kind of character was at its best.
The '90s were a great era for writing. PERIOD.
I am so glad I was a '90s kid
You were right that 1997 wad a great year for movies. Good Will Hunting, Titanic, Men in Black, Face/Off, As Good as It Gets, Jackie Brown, Donnie Brasco, Chasing Amy, The Fifth Element and many more. Although the Best Supporting Actor Oscar of that year actually went to Good Will Hunting, but As Good as It Gets is a really good movie, too.
It's the 1984 of the 90's, really.
@Knight-Bishop that's actually 1993 for me. But you're right. 1997 is one of the best 90s years for movies.
@@rosefriday4287 I know. Lucky you. I'm an early 2000s kid. And while there were still a large handful of great movies made then, they don't compare to the movies of the 90s, 80s or 70s. But I don't think that you need to be a cinephile to know that.
Vincent D’onofrio is brilliant in this, utterly convincing as a giant bug in a human skin 😂
Little detail, the lemonade that Edgar's wife made was horrible because the bug in Edgar's skin drank all the sugar.
that's sad that she couldnt go get more, sure went to talk to the tabloids though.
@@UltimateGamerCC The tabloids came to her. She can't go anywhere, the truck's busted.
Hands down one of the funniest Science Fiction action comedies and Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones make a fantastic duo in Agents J and K respectively, and Vincent D’Onofrio does a funny but terrifying performance as Edgar the Bug/The Farmer.
Finally, Frank the Pug is voiced and puppeteer by Tim Blaney who also voice for Number 5/"Johnny Five" in _Short Circuit 1-2_ (which the both of you should check out) and an additional puppeteer for certain productions of _The Muppets_ and the voice of Goofy Goober in the _SpongeBob SquarePants Movie_
First one feels a lot like ghostbusters, very down to earth with a wild premise and tech.
This is just the best example of the great work of Vincent D'Onofrio! He's just fantastic in this movie. Love Edgar, the Bug! Great reaction!
Edgar was played by Vincent D'Onofrio ... also played the soldier who killed himself in Full Metal Jacket... one of the best actors in the game! ...doesn't get enough flowers
If anyone didn't noticed, Jeebs was the actor from Monk and Galaxy Quest.
This Sci-fi classic has aged very well. Great reaction bros! 👍🏿
I LOVE this movie, it moves at such a brisk pace. Brilliant screenplay
0:29 I mean, a little girl with a Quantum physics book is suspicious. Especially since there are disguised aliens on earth.
I always find 30:55 hilarious, evil bug who plans to destroy planets but gets so easily distracted by bells ringing. It looked like it was enjoying itself
I'm so glad you guys watched this! It's so cute! Now watch the sequels! Please! You won't regret it.
Vincent D’Onofiro is appropriately rated and underrated all at the same time always and this performance😘🤌🤌
Great reaction guys!
You guys seen The Cell w/VD from 2000? Another great performance from him!
21:09 - actually, machine changed his prints into another pattern. If he gets sloppy and leaves fingerprints at a scene while working, he would have to get burned again. It's basically a tool of training agents to be careful.
28:43 i think there is a continuity error in that scene. You can see they already have Bug's ship behind Will Smith but its in the next scene at the jewerly store when they actually recover it.
I still call supermarket tabloids "the Hot Sheets", LOL.
(At 19:37) of all the aliens from the Men in Black franchise The "worms" (who I assumed all 4 had a coffee addiction) were everyone's favorite. 2nd favorite has to be Frank.
Tommy Lee Jones played with the dogs that played Frank for hours and hours so they wouldn't be scared when he shook them around in that scene. They were like "Oh, you wanna play rough, huh? Bring it!"
This first one is great. The sequel is entertaining and more like a movie you’d put on while trying to go to sleep or while sick.
The third one is the best one in my opinion. It’s so good. Josh Brolin does it perfectly and makes the whole movie. Can’t wait for those ones to get watched.
Yes, MIB III is the best by far, but you have to have watched at least this first one in order to get some of it.
I think the first one is perfect, the second very lackluster, and the third has a lot of heart. Love this series
'This is swuillyup and Bob!' 😂
I was today years old, watched this I dont know how many times., watched all kinds of reactions... And JUST got the "NYPD, kNock Your Punkass Down" joke... lol
The guy who plays Edgar/the Bug is AMAZING
The part where dude's head grew back scared me to death as a kid.
Y'all when any kind of alien or synthetic is on screen "Die, monster! You don't belong in this world!"
Y'all when any kind of small animal is on screen. "My boy! Spare Him! Take me instead!"
In the early 90's, the best comics were still underground. When everyone was reading Marvel trash, some of us were getting the good sh*t. (MIB, The TICK, The Crow, and Tank Girl). All of which became classic films or TV adaptations. I wish you boys could've been there.
31:45 Sergeant Friday, a reference to a fictional Los Angeles police officer Joe Friday on the radio drama/tv show Dragnet.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MIB 2 REACTION!
I'm surprised these two didn't notice that the guy that had the fly swatter plays Ian in Alvin and The Chipmunks
Vincent D'Onofrio should have won oscar for that
Did you know
What will smith squash wasnt roaches but mustard packs
(At 18:13) I've never been to New York City. Once My parents have on one of their wedding anniversaries without (Don't really care I missed out on it because not that excited to go there, just what they made it back safely), a lot of buildings and skyscrapers on THIS scene we're *never* going to see, much less rebuild, again after 9/11.
Next, watch Wild Wild West.
Its so fun.
There is no way on Earth ya’ll didn’t see this somewhere at some time. It’s MIB!? It’s been on tv/satellite/cable forever.
Check out Will Smith's _Wild Wild West._
He plays a sheriff in a steampunk Wild West.
I never read the comics, but as a UFO nut I was already familiar with the MIB lore and I love they way it was incorporated.
Fun fact: Moving the table in order to write was part of the test. The CIA and intelligence agencies pull similar tricks to test for problem solving skills.
I love this movie so much. It's one of my top five favorite movies of all time.
Consider reading the book "Men in Black" by Steve Perry. It's hilarious. A lot of story is from Bug's point of view and he is a real hero in his own eyes.
There are two more of these good movies if you want
First Men in Black great second men in black, okay not bad but not great, third one honestly it surprised me I enjoyed it almost as much as the first
The first time I watched with this was with my brother when I was in 4th grade.
Such a good film and great reaction and DW I'm sure we will get more of agent K soon
Thanks!
Thank you 👽
Me and my cousin would quote this movie alot as kids in the late 90s this move was always on tv. GET YOU'RE BIG BUTT BACK IN THE HOUSE we would rewind that part
4 movies and a good cartoon show is a pretty decent run for a one off movie.
15:52 aces the first big test
*Have you watched MARS ATTACKS ! ?*
The second one is just okay, but the third one? Will Smith said Josh Brolin did Tommy Lee Jones SO WELL that he'd start a conversation with one of them and forget which one he was talking to, because he'd pick up a conversation with the other one and they'd look at him like, "wtf are you talking about?"
Really hope that you guys finish off the trilogy!
Oh hell yeah! This movie scared the sh*t out of me as a kid, the woman giving birth to the alien, EVERYTHING with Vincent D'Onofrio and the cockroaches.... 🤢 But I am more than willing and so excited to watch along with you guys! I love your guys' commentary and laughter, it always makes me laugh too! Sooooo happy I found your channel! Can't wait to see what's next!
Much love to ya boys!
MiB is a great trilogy, i love MiB 3
One of the best movies ever
The first movie in my life and it's the best Alien comedy movie ever!Hope you can see MIB 2、MIB 3 and MIB International!🐙💯👍✨
Hope you guys continue to mib 3 cuz its my favorite out of the trilogy
Plus music scored by Danny Elfman 🎉!!❤
We're "them." We're "they." We are the Men in Black.🕶🕶🕶🕶🕶🕶
Hey also if you guys can check out for me specifically. The edge or the hunted. Both amazing. And realistic
Anybody else bothered that both of these brothers said they would be fine with never seeing their family again as long as they got to work at MIB, and neither one of them was offended? It would be the end of the channel, I’m offended, WTF?
can you react to when the wind blows please
GUYS, watch A Scanner Darkly, I don't know why so few people have reacted to it, perhaps you can start a reaction trend to it and get tonnes of channel traffic as a result. It's such a unique movie, unlike anything you've watched before, you guys would have a blast reacting to it! Love the channel, been following you since you both looked alike, much love from the UK!
My mom raised me on many older movies. I'm so happy that this was one of them 😊
Gkad you giys figure it out, orion,s belt.etc.
Loved your reaction as always. You should watch society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one
The second one's also OK. The third one is solid.
You guys DEFINITELY have to watch part 2 & 3
J was actually correct about the alien thing during the training test. That's why Zed looks at K. He was the only one to think outside the box, hence him saying "This was everything we expected from you all" aka an insult to the others trained to fire first and ask questions later. Plus, in the animated series, they reveal a dangerous alien in fact does look like Tiffany, meaning J was correct to analyze and say "She's the one that's a problem".
Vincent D'Onofrio casually dropping one of the greatest physical performances of all time
i bet he had a blast.
Absolutely. Really impressed with his performance in this. Overlooked.
One of the most underrated performances out there. It’s actually incredible how good he is in this role.
He steals every scene he’s in, truly.
I heard that he wore locked knee and elbow braces to help with the movements
"Those books are way too advanced for her, she about to start some shit"
This movie has one of my very favorite quotes:
A thousand years ago, everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew humans were alone on this planet.
Imagine what you'll know tomorrow.
*_FUN FACT:_* They gave Tony Shalhoub helium for the parts his character spoke while his head hadn't fully regrown. That's how they raised the pitch of his voice.
One of my all-time favorite lines: "Elvis is not dead, he just went home" 😂
It's not a lot to ask, but it's a 2 letter word - he - you have to amend the double ee. Just sayin.
I make that joke to this day, still. xD
Tommy Lee is hilarious even when serious.
I think it's when He hollers 4 Me.. in all His movies LoL
he's not dead, thou...
In independence day with Will Smith one of the characters is excited as she hopes the aliens bring back Elvis 😂.
"K, did you ever flashy-thing me?" "No." "I ain't playin' witchoo, K! Did you ever flashy-thing me?" "No."
Vincent D'Onofrio doesn't get enough credit for his fantastic physical acting. His portrayal of Edgar the Bug is a tour de force. My favorite bit is him outside the jewelry store in the van trying to 'act casual.'
And did you recognize Tony Shalhoub ('Monk') as pawn shop owner Jack Jeebs?
I loved that part "why did you think little Tiffany deserved to die". Laugh every time.
My favorite moment is when they stop right after he shoots, and when they ask why his response was "hesitated." Implying he probably would've shot her first lol
Edgar/The Bug is Vincent D'Onofrio's best role ever. And arguably one of the best physical comedy *and* body horror performances of all time IMHO.
He starts out like a frickin' Beetlejuice character while his skin's still all fresh and elastic... but by the time the movie ends and he does his magic trick? He's straight out of The Fly.
And he somehow manages to make the transition between the two totally seamless as the stakes get higher.
holy shit thats the full metal jacket or punished dude right. I've seen this movie countless times and never knew that.
@@thepimp31 Yup.
Idk I really love him as kingpin in the daredevil show
Vincent is brilliant in pretty much everything he's in. He was my generation's Thor, from Adventures in Babysitting. And he was in one of the most devastating episodes of Homicide: Life on the Streets.
One of my favorite actors for sure. He's amazing whatever role he plays.
I unironically think Vincent D'Onofrio should have won Best Supporting Actor for this.
he probably could've, but he didnt get much screen time and when he was it was physical acting standalone.
he wasnt beating out Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting
No joke, I consider this one of the best written films of all time. The test and the shooting range scene are perfect examples of clever writing without spoon feeding the audience.
There is a video essay by Lindsay Ellis about how good this movie is. It's pretty much the best example of "show, don't tell" in filmmaking.
If anyone else remember watching the animated series as a kid, raise your hand!
I miss Saturday morning cartoons and Kids WB😢
Alpha: ah I see thst you had to put down your dog when you were a child.
Zed: That's the ending to Old Yeller you senile old fool

The Intro to the cartoon was classic
Funny mention of Elvis being an alien when in Lilo and stitch there was an Elvis record playing and Jumba, an alien, said “oh i love this song!”
That part of Lilo & Stitch was an intentional nod to this movie.
It’s Vincent D’Onofrio who played the alien. He was Pile in Full Metal Jacket, Kingpin in Daredevil, and Detective Goren in Law & Order Criminal Intent.
Law & Order Criminal Intent was my favorite
@@brandonrobinson529it was my favorite after SVU
@@AnimalAlmighty Cool I love Both
he was also in adventures in babysitting.
And Pooh Bear in The Salton Sea. Another great character.
This movie is a testament to how good of an actor Vincent D'Onofrio is. How many actors could play an alien in a man suit and make it one of their best performances?
"A person is smart... People are dumb panicky animals." One of my all time favorite quotes.
Also, this movie never gets old. Easily rewatchable and it's Will Smith in his prime.
One of my favorite as well.
With the follow up, "Imagine what you'll know tomorrow."
Watch him in little-seen "Enemy of the State."
I've always kept that quote in the back of my mind.
U forgot dangerous bewteen panicky and animals xD
Who remembers the Men in Black music will smith did which was aired on MTV years ago.
3 Fun Facts for you:
1. The Worms (the aliens in the coffee room), were actually speaking the language of Jabba the Hutt from "Star Wars".
2. If you notice, the Edgar suit decomposes all throughout the movie, up to the point he straight up looks like a zombie in the climax.
3. The one roach that Will Smith stepped on to anger the Bug was actually just a mustard packet.
Fun fact: you can see Steven Spielberg's face at the top left @20:36 Spielberg was the executive producer of the whole trilogy.
This film has so many subtle hillarious 1 liners: "You're everything we've come to expect from government training.", "We at the fbi do not have a sense of humor we are aware of."
Vincent D’Onfrio came up with the idea to have those wierd jerky movements. At first the director was skeptical but it worked.
Finally! I thought you never react to this one! This is one of my all time favorite movies!
20:50 "The last suit you ever wear" There's a phrase meaning the one you wear in your coffin
Remember in Independence Day, some woman said she hoped the aliens would bring back Elvis.
Fun fact: Edgar was basically a giant bug wearing a straight jacket of human skin. To help emphasize the movements, the actor put braces on his legs
Will WAS the Fresh Prince and it never completely goes away. Because of this it's important for his scripts to allow for that, even if a tiny bit cause sometimes he just can't help it.
The whole scene where J helps the alien give birth still has me dying of laughter
That baby alien was so cute. My friend and I looked forever for a doll of that.
To me is Will's face when Tommy Lee Jones asks him if "anything about that seemed unusual to you?"
Another solid trilogy to enjoy. The table scene alone is comedy gold
*"There's always an Arquillian Battle Cruiser, or a Corillian Death Ray, or an intergalactic plague that is about to wipe out all life on this miserable little planet, and the only way these people can get on with their happy lives is that they DO NOT KNOW ABOUT IT!"* ~ Agent K
My kids rented this so many times we could have bought our own video store. It was one of THOSE movies that seemed to appeal to everybody. There are so many great throw-away lines in this.
