I have a couple of Sunfaces and the one in this video has low gain General Electric transistors. Also the clean trimmer is turned up a little because I'm looking for a more vintage sound and not the gated/velcro sound. I'm thinking about doing a part two with everything the same but using my TIUK Sunface with the clean trimmer off.
The batteries have a huge impact on sound but only ... in one specific day of the year. For all the rest we should not bother. Unless we talk about power starvation which is a well known method that has very audible impacts on most of analogue sound producing machines as used by many. A method that cannot produce controllable/sustainable results by using batteries, only by using a PSU with a controlled o/p voltage.
A little more mids and/or less highs on batteries than power supply specially with bridge pickup. By the way I don't hear differences between carbon vs alkaline battery

Cool I never thought about that. Sounds great to me. 😊
Hey thanks Robert!
@@hoganshideout much welcome !!!
It will for sure depending on the power source amount. The Q2 collector voltage will change thus making the fuzz sound change.

Hi, what's the tune at 0:29? It sounds very familiar, but I can't remember it.
It's a tribute to money for nothing but not played correctly. I think he used a fuzz pedal on that song along with a fixed wah.
@@hoganshideout No, I meant what's playing before money for nothing) It starts at exactly 0:29
@@DisgustCap Oh, lol, I'm not sure. It's just a little groove I started playing.

It's more noticeable in the room with the amp probably. The good news is Sunface sounds great with any power supply!
@@hoganshideout For sure ;-)
The zinc battery have more low mids, and the alkaline have more high mids...
