I was a HAZOP Scribe for my previous internship, and now I have to run one on my senior design project. It’s tedious, to say the least, but the most important part of the design process. This video gives me hope that all the all nighters working on HYSYS won’t die in vain 😂 Keep up the good content man!
Damn chemical engineering looks so cool, i would really like to get master degree on chemical engineering after finishing my bachelor degree on pure chemistry, still it was just a dream for me now as i'm still on first year (second semester) and quantum chemistry is kicking my butt because of my weak knowledge of calculus and other maths. Thanks for showing me this kind of stuff you do on chemical engineering! I just found out about you and now your video are my motivation to keep going further in chemistry Thanks from an undergraduate chemistry student in indonesia!
Dope video! I'm not sure about others, but I found the captions to be a bit short for the length of text on the screen. I found myself pausing the video multiple times to read the caption. Possibly adding a couple of seconds to each part would have been nice!
hey I'm enrolled in Daytona state and hoping if I could ask a few questions about chemical engineering and if you have a email that would be easy to reach out to.
I'm asking you an weird question. Do you really enjoy doing Chemical Engineering stuffs? If yes, then, did you use to enjoy studying Chemical Engineering when you're doing Undergraduation? Expecting an honest answer.
It's a pity I used to dream but now I'm not weak in math My father is also a chemical engineer, in case I didn't inherit math and science, I have difficulty with precalculus and general biology skl...
Hey, sorry, I know this video is old, but how would you describe the job market for chemical engineering, especially for newer grads? I'm in Grade 12 and thinking of applying to chemical engineering since I find it interesting but I keep hearing people say there aren’t many jobs available for newer grads and that most require at least 3-5 years of experience. Would you say this is true, and do you think this varies by province? Any input is appreciated. Thank you!
I’m not sure anymore tbh I’ve been out of chem E for 2 years. But definitely varies by location as chemical engineers more so work at industrial facilities. It’s worth noting that not all my classmates work as chemical engineers, a lot went into other fields like business / engineering related, but not specifically chemical engineering roles
loll was literally watching Love is Blind: Japan an hour ago xD Also was cool to see you working on HAZOPs and using HYSYS for work, learning them rn in Yr2 :D HAZOPs are boring af, but HYSYS simulations are pretty cool
What do you think about ChemCAD? Is Aspen better than it? We’ve just started to learn ChemCAD in my university and it looks quite good. Thx for a nice video:)
Thanks for the great video Shawn! Btw, are there merits to recording one's schedule and to do list onto a physical notebook, compared to something like google calendar ? EDIT: you talked about it in the video titled "5 Habits to Maximize Productivity". My bad 😄
Hey Shawn, do you think the MEng program in ChemE has better carrer prospects? I got an offer and I'm confused choosing offers between waterloo and UBC for MEng
It’s about your thesis and relationship with your prof, not the school (since they’re both very similar, Canadian schools). I don’t know much about Waterloo sorry!
Hey, i am currently doing bachelors in chemical engineering and planning to do masters in usa what can I expect to earn after masters in chemical engineering do you have any idea?
Once again, a very good show of work life balance at its finest! Amazing video Shawn 👍
🤘🏽 thanks bro!
Great to see you uploading again!
Thanks brotha, let’s keep up the consistency 👀
@@shawn.builds Shawn more vlog video please 😁😁
@@shawn.builds By the way, what programming languages did you advance in?
a super wholesome video!!
Thanks Akshayaa!

😂 yeah, they’re actually really fun i gotta say, just exhausting
Starting to use Aspen! Thanks for your videos
Ayee nice! Anytime
Chemical engineer here and I don't find my life as jovial as your. The frustation with reviewing p&IDs and consequent change is never ending.
Lol the Vlog + nice edits may make it seem like fun and games but it’s definitely not sunshine and rainbows
Aspen plus is the most fun thing I’ve use. So far in my life
that's awesome :) you'll love chem E then

That’s awesome! Yeah chem students tend to do really well in Chem E I feel like :) good luck with it 👍🏽
he has a very niche job, most of ChemE jobs are in a chemical plant located in nowhere
@@polizario7942 actually understandable for every engineering jobs. If you were me, a chem student, what master's degree will you took?
@@jots2563 try switching to chem E now if you like it that much
@@yasc2723 lmao i said it in the original comment that i like it as my master's degree, not my bachelor
Cool vid! Just wondering, would you be able to do a video on where you starting to casually learn coding/what resources and software you use?
yeah could defs do that! but check out my Top Skills for Chemical Engineers, that one is jam packed with resources!

Will do! Had to squish a lot of info in and didn’t have enough B roll, appreciate the feedback 🙏🏽
Cool can you give comparison between Honeywell UNISIM and Aspen hysys. I'm currently facing issues with Unisim software
Never used UNISIM before sorry!

What specific field do you work for, like as polymers, petrochemical, electromical, machine process.....or another thing?
clean tech
yoo what are your thoughts on pursuing chemE in 2022?..considering the job market
Hmm not too sure what the market is like rn but check out Jobs Canada or US jobs statistics for more info
I want to start my own business as a chemical engineer in oil and gas industry, any ideas guys ?!
I wish my life would be like his after 3 years
Highschool chemistry is so boring
Dude in India Highschool chemistry is more intense than engineering chemistry like we have to do an all nighter many times.

@@shawn.builds okay, unfortunately the MEng is only a coursework program and has no thesis component. So, i doubt if I'll be guided by a supervisor.
