    Nice video Shawn! I totally agree with the idea of changing your strategy when things aren't working. I'm currently getting a computer science minor and I'm going to attempt to move into the tech industry vs a traditional ChE role

    Helpful video and I'm happy to know that I'm going in a right way by adding experience, online courses to diversify my skill-set. Also I've a solid advantage of having great connections because of my dad being in an MNC Oil and Gas company. I hope things will work out for me as I've planned.

    This is a super helpful video! I'm applying to my first co-op as a second-year and I'm interested in clean energy companies so I was wondering if you had any resources/videos on working in battery/energy companies or your experience working at the start-up you were at??

    • @shawn.builds
      @shawn.builds  4 года назад +1

      hmm! I might make a video about my experience at this startup this month. I don’t know a lot about batteries but it’s a good industry to be in! Sorry I can’t be more help but if you have specific questions I might be able to help out more!

    • @sanjana2873

      @@shawn.builds No worries...getting a co-op in the battery or energy industry is just something I am looking into rn (probably R&D or even a lab) since I want to learn more about clean energy research and technologies. Not entirely sure if a typical battery company is the best place to start, but I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out!

    Could one work in pharmaceuticals and biotech as a chemical engineer ?

    • @shawn.builds
      @shawn.builds  4 года назад +2

      Yes, definitely! I recommend joining some bio design teams or taking some additional bio courses so that you have more relevant experiences to talk about when applying for pharm/biotech jobs!

    Hi po! I am from the Philippines and I am currently in my senior high school year. I would like to ask if a lady can also be a ChemE? I mean, yeah, nothing's impossible but is this engineering be also up for females?

    • @shawn.builds
      @shawn.builds  4 года назад

      Of course!!! Check out this article: www.aiche.org/chenected/2020/01/empowering-women-and-girls-engineering

      My chemical engineering class was almost 50-50 male/female. The women in my grad class absolutely crushed it and can do anything then men do, often times better. I recommend checking out Women In Engineering for another resource that empowers women in STEM fields. Good luck with your journey!
