- Looking for the best M1 MacBook Air Accessories? Some of the accessories I use with my M1 MacBook Air have literally changed the way I’ve been able to use this laptop. The #MacBook Air is one of my favorite laptops to come out in 2020. It’s small, it’s light, it’s powerful, it has a great display, keyboard and trackpad.
But once I saw how powerful the #apple M1 chip is even without the fan you get with the MacBook Pro, I realized it’s an absolute beast and I could get it to do pretty much everything I need. .
Today I’m going to show you my absolute favorite accessories for the #m1MacBookAir, I tested a lot of accessories and I’ll tell you why I chose to use these specific ones. And one of these accessories in a roundabout way made the rest of them free.

What's up everyone?! I hope you liked this list of M1 MacBook Air accessories. What was your favorite item? Do you have anything else that you think I should include in a part 2? Finally, which configuration is right for you?
Would love to know what you think. Is this laptop that you would use and why or why not. If you’re currently using something else, please share your experience with me. I am grateful in advance 🙏
When you connect the display to the MacBook via the saitechi hub, can you use the screen in Retina mode? As in 1770x720 ?
Do you have the 8GB or 16GB ?
meow meow
speakers sitting on your desk?
Is there a downside if you use a usb-c to Hdmi cable instead of an adaptor? I want to buy an external monitor for my m1 MacBook Pro and I would like to know if its better to go for an adaptor (type c to hdmi) or for a cable for that specific reason.

Thanks so much for the kind words and su pport!
I just bought a M1 air I am overwhelmed with all your presenting. I would appreciate a video with each of your favorites with maybe a link for your other items. I’m a 75 yo senior that’s a bit of a geek, :-)) and appreciate all your suggestions but now I’m soooo confused. Could you do something simpler for a beginner Mac air user? Thanks, I did enjoy hearing about so many options. I’ll see if you have a simpler video. Thank you for making the time to help your followers.
Brother, the amount of time and effort you put into this videos shows. Incredible. I love taking your advice. Thank you for all the hard work.
I super appreciate the kind words 🙏🏻 Thank you for being part of the channel!
I am finally going to make the leap and purchase my first Apple Mac book. I was on the fence because I will use it for my business. I take pictures with my phone an iPhone and I wanted something less cumbersome. I wasn’t sure if I should wait for the new release but after watching your content I realized the MacBook Air is really more than enough for me. I will use these accessories and be a happy camper!!! Thank you 😊
How is it. Thinking about making the same purchase. Your experience?
@@prixflex8909 I am extremely happy with my decision to purchase my Mac Book. There is a learning curve b/c I have been on Windows all my life, but the system is amazing. It has made transferring documents and pics, videos to my laptop a breeze. It runs so smooth. I say please go ahead. You will not be disappointed.
@@JazzyBags That's amazing. Will update soon!
Fell in love with your clean no nonsense style of reviews and information delivery in the first video i watched from your channel. Now i have become one of ur subscribers. Keep up the good works.
Just bought the Samsung T7 for my M1 MacBook Pro and wow, it’s super quick! I only had enough to upgrade one feature on laptop so went for the RAM due to video and photo editing. I thought I could get external storage and I’ve got 1TB for £134 and it’s a bargain! Thank you so much for your help! 👍🏼
the way i've been watching every macbook air video because i just bought one and i haven't even subscribed?
changed that tho
excited to see what the future holds for this channel :)
Ok.. you’re officially my Tech Saviour 🥺❤️
That's awesome! Thanks for being part of the channel!
Man, I really love your videos. They are informative and I enjoy your reviews of products. This was especially helpful as I just received my M1 Air yesterday. I really love it and the accessories you suggested are a great help. Thanks!!!
OMG, I'm watching from Australia and you are fantastic, LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos! I have been looking at purchasing a MacBook Air and iPad and have watched all of your videos. I'm a research addict but have no tech sav. You are informative and have 'normal speak' which, someone like me who has no idea about tech specs, really appreciates. My dilemma is finding all the great accessories you talk about here in Oz. I'v read through a lot of your reviews and they are spot on - absolute quality. Thank you!
i got that mouse, and the keyboard that goes with it, and i LOVE them. i need to do a few more adjustments to what all the buttons do, but it's so nice to use when I'm using my laptop connected to a monitor instead of by itself.
Nice Caitlin! Appreciate you sharing!
This guy has made me fall back in love with Tech again... 🙏
I am not a gadget geek and I really appreciate the way you explain things. I enjoy watching and at the same time learning from you. I am from the Philippines by the way.
this tomtoc is a must!!
Thank you once again for your great video! Your recommendations/suggestions are spot on! I have the M1 MacBook Air, 8CPU, 512SSD. One thing you didn't address was your recommendation for an external back up. Currently I have a Time Machine external back up device. But just as my old, (ancient), MacBook Air from 2013, the Time Machine external backup is more or less the same age, (so it's ancient as well!). Can I continue to use the 2013 - 2014 Time Machine external back up device? Should I get an updated Time Machine external back up or is there another product you would recommend? If so, which one would you recommend? Thanks for the great advice from your videos and from your replies.
You are one of the best reviewers out there. I check out all the stuff you recommend. Good job!
Clicky keys give me life! Cherry MX Blues foreverrrrrrrrr
YES!!!
Clicky keyboard! Like you I find the sound relaxing.
Just upgraded from an early 2016 12 inch MacBook Air dual core intel processor to a new 2020 16 gig, 1 TB MacBook Air in Gold! Excited to pick up this beauty tomorrow at the Apple Store! So psyched! Much needed upgrade for grad school! 😀👍🏾👏🏾💃🏾👩🏾💻💻🛍🎁💯
I was using my Macbook Air M1 peacefully, watching some videos on youtube. Suddenly, this video presented itself in my recommendations. Now I am unable use my Macbook. Gotta wait till I get all these accessories. Man, this is frustrating.
Wish I had watched this video before paying for extra storage on my Macbook Pro M1. My vote is for the silent keys out of consideration for the people sitting around me on a train or in a plane. Same for my iphone. It's distracting when the keys are clacking on devices around me. Looking forward to viewing more of your content.
I opted for extra memory over extra storage. The portable SDDs make up for it and some
Thank you for this video. My 2014 MB Air was damaged and upgraded to a refurbed M1; 16gb ram and 512 for ~1400. I am so new to USB-C and this video came in clutch. I subscribed quickly for getting to the point and how seamless and beautiful your video looks on this retina display lol.
Great job picking up a refurbished M1 - CONGRATS!!! Thanks for being part of the channel.
The most quintessential and practical accessories video for the MacBook Air I've seen yet. 👍 Thank you!
Finally convinced me to buy the new Mac Air, so much other tech for using with it. It will make editing much easier. Thanks for the tips, really helpful
Happy to help! It's such a great value! Appreciate you being part of the channel!
This video is so good! Thanks for the tips! I am getting a MacBook Air soon! 👍🏻
CONGRATS!!! Appreciate the kind words. Thank you for being part of the channel!
I like non-clicky keyboards but I can deal with the clickity-clicking if its just me! I’m studying music production and at any given time I’m toting a saxophone or two with me so I am definitely in the business of having the tools that do the most but take up the least amount of space and that are lightweight. This helps a LOT…you just earned a thumbs-up and new subscriber!!! Cheers!!
Outstanding video as always. Thanks for providing accessories that actually work too.
Buy it nice, or buy it twice man, well said, I like that saying. Thanks brother.
Thanks for the usb hub info. Any recommendations on wifi antennas? My wifi signal is very weak in my room and I don’t always want to be in the living room when my roommates have company.
I have question do you think the cooling pad or fan can it help with the MacBook Air ?
Hello! Do you think a case is necessary to protect the MacBook? I prefer they way it looks without it, but does it scratch easily? I just bought my Mac and I don’t even wanna unbox it cause I don’t have the accessories to protect it. 😁 Thanks!!!
Hi
Great video!
I just receive my MacBook Pro M1.
I use 2 external monitors on the old MacBook Pro via hdmi, now I discover the M1 don’t accept 2 external monitors, only one!!
Any idea how to connect bouth monitors and what kind of duck station or hub allowed?
Thanks!
Great information! Thank you from this Apple newbie😊
What iPad are you using to a 2nd screen? And what racing game are you playing over there? Is on Macbook or iPad?
This man knows what budget is and really awesome content producer!
Loved the way you are helping us out.
Thank you sooo much, I’ve been searching accessories, but couldn’t find any that have high reviews. And a special thank you for the docks bcs I couldn’t find any that don’t overheat too fast
So glad I could help Andre! Thanks for being part of the channel!
Thanks for the video. Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for being part of the channel!
You do a great job, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Ordered two items from your links here. Thanks for the great work.
Wilk the dongle-less hub fit if the mac has a case on?
what speakers are on your desk?
amazing video, thank you
Where are the links for all of these accessories?
In the description
I did not see any links for these items mentioned in this video. Can you upload them?
@12:29 USB-C to HDMI cable! Thanks for pointing this possibility out. I didn't know such cables exist - I thought I would need an adapter or the Satechi hub to connect an external monitor. This cable is the most straightforward way to do it :-)
Glad I could help! Save that money!! Thanks for being part of the channel!
Thanks for the info. I have a 4 to 6 pin firewire cable that I would like to connect to a new Macbook air M1.
What hubs do you recommend? Thank you.
Awesome video 😍
Hi I am looking for MacBook Pro usb c hub that I could connect many devices. Do you have anything in mind in a reasonable price? Thanks
Clicky keyboard so...new subscriber!! Thanks for the great info. Your videos are awesome. I wasn't buying MacBook Air until I saw your review. 😒
Excellent video! Great timing for me as I just bought the base MBA two tweeks ago. So far I've just bought a pack of 2 x USB to USB-C adapters while I decide on which hub and External HD to go for. One other thing which I'm looking to get is an external CD/DVD player-burner. As for clicky keyboards, I don't mind although I think someone using an old school typewriter would keep me awake! 😄
So glad it was timely and thanks for the kind words and support!! You had me laughing at "old school typewriter" 😂🤣
@@starrider2352 I just like to have the option that a disc drive offers. I'm coming from a 2011 MBP and 2010 imac, both of which have given up on me and both had built in superdrives! I do still buy CDs of my favorite bands occasionally too. Also sometimes watch DVDs on the laptop or connected to a projector (I thankfully don't have a TV!).
@@starrider2352 Thanks for the info, I'm sure it'll help someone! Thankfully I had all my music backed-up on two external harddrives this time!
Thank you, great content. Think I am getting the 13” M-1, to replace my late 2011 Probook!! I know..thanks to you! Helped a ton.
So Useful Video
You Just Explained All Things That I Need 😊
Keep Going .
I currently own a 2015 Macbook Air, and I'm seriously considering buying the M1 Macbook Air. I'm concerned about the many issues some people have been having though, and in particular the fact that it it randomly shouts down. Are these issues widespread? Should I hold off a little while longer, or just go for it please?
Which brand you recommend for USB HUB . I’m using MacBook Air. Also please recommend best in India.
What are those speakers? They look super cool!
Excellent reference video. Thanks. Question, Can you wirelessly connect the Macbook air to a TV (55Panasonic Smart TV) via screen mirroring as you can with an I Phone?
How did u connect 2 displays at the same time to the M1 m. Air? 😳
Do you think you'll need to update your list of accessories and recommendations in light of Apple's new MacBook Air M2? Great contents, awesome channel. Thanks!
Awesome video! How were you able to extend two screens on the M1?
thanks a lot! very useful! keep doing!
Hi, may i know will your macbook air get heats while connecting to the monitor
Hey, Some M1 users suffering from screen glitch issue. Can you do a video about that ?
Hi, as I'm looking at a hub I'm concerned that the 2 port hub will put excessive physical/mechanical strain on the MacBook ports if the hub itself is connected to many things.. like hdmi and usb cables..
Does the hub sit flash to the table once inserted into the mac or is it hanging from it?
Can I get the link to the stand holding the iPad Air? Tia!
There is no links for the item shown..🥺
Those direct plug hubs, the second one, are hell on the Tbolt ports. no strain relief.
Wow that is an amazing value on that desk!
I also ordered a Ugreen USB C to HDMI! Can't wait to use my M1 with an external monitor
Hi, like your videos, do keep up the good work.
Thanks so much - will do my best to keep up the good work!
Awesome recommendations. Thank you so much!
holy moly did you deliver a bunch of them im actualy amased 😵
Most underrated tech channel on RUclips! Amazing info and content!
Appreciate the kind words! Thanks for being part of the channel!
can the MacBook air run 2k monitor in 144Hz? I will love to hear your experience with it.
Would you be able to make a buying guide for budget ultrawide monitors for editing?
Let me see what I can do!
Nice accessories which you have shared, but the price tags are also very "NICE".
Clicky or not Clicky ? I love if my own typing is a smooth and quiet as it possibly can be. (without a pandemic going on) i sit in a lot of librarys and cafe´s to work and nothing is more annyoing than beeing extremly loud in quiet environments... but i actually love hearing clicking keyboards from my partner working when i try to sleep. It´s somehow like rain - it´s so soothing :D
I find shoulders bags to be less secure than Back packs
Hello! Im trying to find info confirming that a 3440x1440/60Hz resolution works without issues through the usb-c connection while charging the macbook air. Could you let me know if this is the case?
Another great video! Don’t you get tired of making so much quality content. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
You guys inspire me. If you keep watching them - I'll keep making them. 🙏
6 Moniter Windows Worksetup looks insane
Numb Question: if all I want to do with my Mac is connect to my monitor wouldn't I just need a USB C to display cord?
I love the black bag. I hope there is a bag with that kind of design that fits both macbook air and ipad coz i always need both to carry on the go. Thanks for sharing the video 👏👏👍
Yo, what's going on. I'll give you a little preview into one of the next few videos. Check out this bag!!! geni.us/Vh6Z it's exactly what you said and what I just got!
@@TechGearTalk just what i need u have been a great help. Thanks so much!
Sir which camera i should buy in these three
Canon 90d
Canon 6d mark ii
Or Canon EOS RP full frame
Personally, I would only buy full frame cameras if I had budget for the lenses. Of course, everything depends on what you'll be using it for. From an image quality perspective - those are all fantastic.
Still a great video. I have been using an 27" LG Ultrawide that I bought for $159. Of course, it is only 1080p but it has worked great to overcome the one external monitor limitation. I just ordered a Dell 34" Ultrawide that is 3440x1440. I have heard that there are problems with either text being too small at this resolution or having to use less resolution for readability. Thoughts on your experience with this 3440x1440 monitor?
Omg... So many accessories . I will definitely loose some 😅😅
Gotta respect videos like this. Thank you. Btw any messenger bag recommendation for both 13’ MacBook Air 2020 and iPad Pro 2020??
Brilliant content. On this!
Thanks for your great videos. Have you used a case for your MacBook? Is it good to buy one?
Wonderful channel 👍 your new subscriber
When I read the reviews of many plug-in USB hubs, most of them fail. Do the pricy ones you recommend stand the time test? I can spend more, but I’ve got to get that bang for my buck. I live abroad, so I’ve got to find your brands online. BTW, I love clicky as I don’t have a house mate, but I can only use it at home. Hard to find any Bluetooth keyboard that is MAC compatible outside OF another MAC product that I find just too tiny. Those big clicky Logitech keys give me a sort of comfortable feedback that I’m actually hitting the right key. Not available fOr MAC.
Rly nice LEDs and wall behind your apple products 👀
Where can I buy them??
Can you use the USB C hub to charge while it's being plugged in to the laptops ports?
Absolutely. Just make sure you’ve updated to 11.2.2 or later
Great vid as always!
Just a quick remark: If you got a cover on your mcb you can't the pro hub (the covers thickness prevents straight plugging)
WOW!!! Really love your videos and this video in particular is very informative. I don't own a macbook currently but will surely take your advise when I get one in the near future. Cheers!
Ooo and I prefer clicky keyboards
Can I plug my USB hubs into the satechi pro hub? Thanks.
You killed me with that monitor! wow! That is just beautiful!
Ruben - ALL THE TIMELINE SPACE!!!
@@TechGearTalk Really incredible!
wow, I want all these accessories ! Very thorough, comprehensive and fun video.
