Was thinking about getting the USB dongle, but I kept reading about them bricking the mac… So, I got a different that allows me to still charge with the cable it came with. 😅
@CleClark, that's great to know that you got the one that works for you. Yes, heard the same thing and thankfully the dongle that I have right now didn't brick my mac the first time I use it. I still use it up to this day and 🤞🏾 that it won't ever brick my Mac at all. Haha... Also, there was an update that addresses that issue. I appreciate you checking out the video and thanks for your comment! 🙏🏽 Cheers!
Congrats and great choice! 👌😀👍 Yes, there's no SD card slot but you can definitely get a USB-C adapter like the one in the video or similar. Enjoy your new Mac! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏 Cheers!

Hey guys, correction on the dbrand price (at 00:45 mark). It's in US dollars and I made a mistake that I said it's in Canadian. Sorry about that. Just fyi.
I've seen a lot of things about those usb hubs bricking peoples' macbooks which is pretty scary, so I haven't bought one yet. I've only had my macbook for a few days but I'm still watching every video I can find on them, and I think after doing some research I'm just going to get some separate USB A/HDMI to USB C adapters, since that's all I really need to use with my computer and I feel like there's less risk there than using a whole usb hub. Apparently people mainly had the problem of their macbooks bricking when they used the pass through charging features that some hubs have, so when the macbook is trying to take in power through the hub to charge while also putting out power to a USB drive or something else through the hub, it seems to confuse the macbook or something. either way it's not something I'm ok with risking lol still tho, really good video dude! Idk why you don't have more subscribers, but you have one more now :)
@Chase Frances, awesome Chase! I appreciate your comment and I hear you that you just want to be cautious and that's great really. In my experience though, the USB hub that I use works perfectly fine with my 2020 M1 MacBook Air and no issues at all from day 1. But yes, a separate USB A to USB C adapter will work just fine too. As for the USB hub (same one I use), as far as I know, once you have the latest firmware installed on your Mac, you should be good. But I really understand where you are coming from. I thank you for your comment and for subscribing as well! Means a lot! Also, thanks for checking out the video! Enjoy your MacBook Air! Cheers!
Hi @vhic soriano, it depends on how you’ll use your MacBook Air. Sa akin kase I have both and if I want to fully protect my Mac from bumps and if I’m outside I usually have the case on. The skin only protects what’s covered and not the sides. I highly recommend for better and full protection, it’s better with a case talaga. But it would still be up to you and sometimes if I don’t have the case on I just put it inside my Tomtoc laptop sleeve and it works fine naman. Hope I answered your question. I appreciate you watching the video and thank you for your comment! 🙏🏽
@Guy Cruls, hahaha… 😂 There’s a specific use for a USB microphone and besides can’t use it if I’m trying to show it at the same time right? That means I have to change microphones afterwards. 😂 Not every tool fits all jobs. There are different uses for each one. And also my home studio isn’t treated yet so it’ll introduce a lot of echo. This mic has to be closer to my mouth to get the best audio possible. That’s why a lavalier mic is perfect in this situation most especially if you’re demoing certain products. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏🏽 Cheers!
@Bharath Gowda, you don’t have to. Mine doesn’t have one and the screen is solid and still works up to this day. No problems at all! 👌🏾 As for the case, I use the Helm from Andar and it fits well even with the dbrand skin installed. You can check out the Helm video on this link: ruclips.net/video/4Bv6QKspxjY/видео.html Thanks for your question and I appreciate you watching the video! 🙏🏾 Cheers!
@Yomin Rak, thank you for your question! Yes it does affect the gestures and most of the time it zooms in and out with just a slight move so I removed the trackpad skin and no longer use it. I just have the top and bottom still installed up to this day and works great. Although after removing the trackpad skin, it’s still does it from time to time so I’m guessing it’s the trackpad’s issue itself and that it’s really sensitive with or without the skin. I hope I answered your question. I appreciate you checking out the video! 🙏🏽 Cheers!
@Bom Cabedal, I appreciate you checking out the video! You actually have a point and that's a great worry to have, but so far in my experience and most of the time it's plugged-in to my USB-C ports, I never had any problems at all. And once I have everything attached like a hard drive as well as an SD card, I just don't move my Mac too much haha... But yeah, really it's a non-issue for me and I had the hub for more than a year now and still works great as well as the USB-C ports on my Mac. Thank you for sharing your thoughts by the way! 🙏🏽 Cheers!
@Maleha Chowdhury, that’s awesome!!! Enjoy it once you get your hands on one! Thank you so much and I appreciate your comment and for watching the video! 🙏🏽 Happy New Year! Cheers!

@Rayan Tabaza, I appreciate your comment and it's great to know that the Mosiso case is a great product. 👍🏽👌🏽 Once I get more accessories for my M1 MacBook Air, I will definitely do a video for sure. Thanks for your suggestion and I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos! 🙏🏽

@J, yes you can easily remove them and won’t leave any residue at all. I’d say just be careful though as to not to rip them off. I’ve removed the trackpad skin and it didn’t not leave any residue at all. Thank you for your comment and for watching the video! 🙏🏽
@K K, wow that’s awesome! Thank you so much!!! I’m so glad the video was helpful! You made my day! I appreciate your comment and for watching the video! 🙏🏽
Nice vid! I'm in Canada too and just got the MacBook Air M1. Coincidentally, also ordered the same hub and same sleeve, except my Tomtoc is the blue and orange colour. What do you think of the Woolnut leather sleeve btw?
@William K, that's awesome! Thank you so much! 🙏🏽 You can't go wrong with the Tomtoc sleeve and the USB-C hub. I love both! As for the woolnut leather sleeve, really no idea since I haven't used one. Thanks for commenting by the way! Cheers!
@Gabrielle Marie Dayan Moquiala, good question! 1st is to protect the mac from scratches (only what's covered though). 2nd, I really like the look of the dbrand and the feel while holding the mac, really looks classy and premium. 3rd, is that it's so thin and you can actually put a case on top of the dbrand skin, like what I have right now which is the Helm case. I interchange them once in a while depending on where I go. So far both work great! Thanks for watching and for your comment! 🙏🏽Cheers!
@Derwyn Hinton You can use the same hub that's on the video. It has an HDMI output and you'll need an HDMI cable to plug in from your Toshiba TV to the MacBook Air or if you don't have the same hub that's on the video, you can get this instead: www.amazon.com/Anker-Aluminum-Pixelbook-Compatible-Thunderbolt/dp/B07THJGZ9Z/ref=sr_1_3?crid=R7E1JGRXQRBY&keywords=usb+c+to+hdmi&qid=1655582443&sprefix=usb+c+to+hdmi%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-3 It's a USB-C cable to HDMI adapter that you'll plug in to your MacBook Air since it doesn't have an HDMI port. Hope this helps. I appreciate your question and thank you for watching the video! 🙏🏽 Cheers!
@Blaize Pascall, I removed the trackpad skin and no longer use it. The trackpad is actually too sensitive even with the skin on so I removed it and I thought it was because of it, but apparently that isn’t the case since it’s still sensitive even without it. Also, the trackpad doesn’t get scratched at all as per my day to day use. I hope I answered your question and I appreciate you watching the video! 🙏🏾
@NooB GuYs, no heating issues at all since the vent isn't blocked. Mine even has a case on top and bottom and the mac still works fine. Thanks for your comment and for watching the video! 🙏🏽
Is the laptop skin recommended for the new macbook air M1's? I have been reading reviews where it is mentioned that skins or hard cases are not recommended
@Saurav Banerjee, thank you for your question! In my case the skins work perfectly fine and had no issues when installed. Both front and back of my M1 MacBook Air are protected from scratches and aesthetically they look good in my opinion. However, if you want full protection, a hard case is good to have as well. I’ve my skins installed, as well as use a case on top of the skins without any issues at all and still fits perfectly and will protect from bumps as well. I appreciate you watching the video and for your comment! 🙏🏾
@amirmoheb fotouhi, thanks for your comment! So far in my experience it doesn't overheat at all and I have been using the MacBook Air to edit 4K videos and so far so good. Thank you for watching! Cheers!
@@MervinAbi, thank you so much!!! I really appreciate you watching the video and for subscribing! 🙏🏽 I started with a white MacBook around 2005 and moved to a 2012 MacBook Pro, then to a 2017 iMac which I still have and then finally the 2020 M1 MacBook Air that I still use up to this day. @@BernieHipos it is. Thanks, Bernie. I started with MBA in 2012 and yes, I never looked back. Last year I bought the smoothest second hand 2010 17” MBP available (upgraded to 1TB SSD) and it’s my fave until now. It’s my main driver in the office. I use it more than my MBP 15.
@@MervinAbi, that's great to know! Yes, if you can get your hands on a second hand mac which is fast and includes all of the features you need, then why buy a brand new one right? As long as it gets the job done and you're happy about it, then that's all that matters and I'd say you were able to save too, right? Just like you, my 2017 iMac still works just fine and better than ever since I added more memory to it and now it's 40gb in total and I can now edit 4K videos with ease.
I would really like to put the extra skins on my new MacBook M1 Air. I think it makes the MacBook look a lot cooler. My concern is does it the trap in any heat or make it easier for the M1 MacBooks To heat up?
@Michael Dobbs, thanks for your comment! Yes, totally agree and I really like the look of my M1 with this dbrand skin. As for the macbook air heating up, actually it’s not an issue for me and I’ve never experienced it even with another case installed and most of the time my mac is used mainly for editing 4K videos. The main exhaust of the mac isn’t blocked by the skin at all. I hope I answer your question. Thank you for watching!
@@BernieHipos Awesome, yeah it for sure answers my question. My main use for my new MacBook Air I bought is photo and video editing as well as admin and some streaming. Good to know it doesn’t cause heat issues
@@MichaelDangerDobbs, I'm so glad I was able to answer your question. Yes, your M1 MacBook Air is more than capable for the stuff you use it for. Definitely a great day to day computer as well as for some heavier tasks. Really a great mac overall!
@@BernieHipos Yes I agree I just got the M1 MacBook Air a few weeks ago, still getting used to the smaller size as I came from an iMac before, But overall I’m glad I went with this computer
@@MichaelDangerDobbs, yes same with me since the iMac has a bigger screen and I eventually got used to it too. It's really easy to do stuff with this mac because of its portability.

So thank you!!! 🙏🏽I really appreciate you watching the video and commenting as well!
@Anvardheen J, I'd say you don't need a hub at all if it's a single USB-C port since the M1 MacBook Air has 2 already. And you can definitely use it for different purposes like plugging in your hard drive as well as for charging. Also, a USB-C hub is only useful in my opinion if it has multiple ports. I hope I answered your question. Thank you for watching the video! 🙏🏽

@Sudip chand, I’m not so sure since I haven’t tried it. I was only able to do some color correction using the built-in color correction tool in Final Cut Pro which is not bad, but for color grading, I use my iMac for that since the Cinema Grade app that I use isn’t compatible with the M1 Macs yet. Also, the screen of this M1 MacBook Air is not that bright for color grading. I hope I answered your question. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏🏽

This bottom cover will reduce you laptop lifespan. Heat dissipation is reduced by adding additional isolation.
@Rafal Korzynski, so far so good on my part. I haven't experienced any heat issues at all even when doing heavy 4K video editing. The bottom skin doesn't block the exhaust. I appreciate your concern. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏🏽 Cheers!
Nice accessories.
Thanks so much @Costea! 🙏🏽
🙏🏽 Cheers!
I got my MacBook Air a month ago for school and it’s cool and all but no sd card slot 🤦♂️
Congrats and great choice! 👌😀👍 Yes, there's no SD card slot but you can definitely get a USB-C adapter like the one in the video or similar. Enjoy your new Mac! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏 Cheers!

Great Vid, Buddy. Make sure to take a photo of your Serial Number and Info in the bottom before finishing the skin installation.
@Werner deimling albuquerque, oh I didn’t think of that. 😬 Although I can always access that by going to the Apple logo and About This Mac and had already written down the info in a safe place. 👌🏾😀👍🏾 I appreciate the heads up and thanks for watching the video as well as for your comment! 🙏🏽 Cheers!

Apparently people mainly had the problem of their macbooks bricking when they used the pass through charging features that some hubs have, so when the macbook is trying to take in power through the hub to charge while also putting out power to a USB drive or something else through the hub, it seems to confuse the macbook or something. either way it's not something I'm ok with risking lol
still tho, really good video dude!
Cheers!
hi kuya.. tama? mas better ang skin kesa sa hard cases? m1 na po din mb ko
thank you po.. ☺️
@@vhicsoriano391, you're welcome!
Hi, do you really recommend buying the skin? does it protect against scratches?
@Omar Jair Chavez Mancisidor, yes! The skin only protects what is covered though and not the sides. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏽
so this vlog was not recorded using the Fifine K678 microphone? if not, how is one to be convinced?
@Guy Cruls, hahaha… 😂 There’s a specific use for a USB microphone and besides can’t use it if I’m trying to show it at the same time right? That means I have to change microphones afterwards. 😂 Not every tool fits all jobs. There are different uses for each one. And also my home studio isn’t treated yet so it’ll introduce a lot of echo. This mic has to be closer to my mouth to get the best audio possible. That’s why a lavalier mic is perfect in this situation most especially if you’re demoing certain products. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏🏽 Cheers!
Should i use a screen protector and case for the macbook air m1 or not ?
@Bharath Gowda, you don’t have to. Mine doesn’t have one and the screen is solid and still works up to this day. No problems at all! 👌🏾 As for the case, I use the Helm from Andar and it fits well even with the dbrand skin installed. You can check out the Helm video on this link: ruclips.net/video/4Bv6QKspxjY/видео.html Thanks for your question and I appreciate you watching the video! 🙏🏾 Cheers!
err sticking a skin on the trackpad does not affect the precision and sensitivity? you have no issue doing the gestures, clicking and pointing?
@Yomin Rak, thank you for your question! Yes it does affect the gestures and most of the time it zooms in and out with just a slight move so I removed the trackpad skin and no longer use it. I just have the top and bottom still installed up to this day and works great. Although after removing the trackpad skin, it’s still does it from time to time so I’m guessing it’s the trackpad’s issue itself and that it’s really sensitive with or without the skin. I hope I answered your question. I appreciate you checking out the video! 🙏🏽 Cheers!
I've always been a bit wary of these "stick-on" hubs because of the danger that I'm damaging both my ports when I bump it into something.
🙏🏽 Cheers!
I saved up to but the M1 air but was skeptical but after seeing this I think I might buy

If i want to remove the dbrand… like if i get bored of it, is it easily removable?
@J, yes you can easily remove them and won’t leave any residue at all. I’d say just be careful though as to not to rip them off. I’ve removed the trackpad skin and it didn’t not leave any residue at all. Thank you for your comment and for watching the video! 🙏🏽
I liked your video. It’s good. Thanks!

Hello po! Why did you prefer putting on a skin rather than a case? Just want to know the pros and cons.
🙏🏽Cheers!
Hey dude, can u tell me what connector, & cord I need to hook my MacBook Air to my tv by cable. I have a Toshiba tv? Thx, Dwhyz1
🙏🏽 Cheers!

does the hub gets hot while connected to external monitor
@Prakash Lee, no it doesn’t. I haven’t experienced any issues at all. I appreciate you commenting and watching the video! 🙏🏽 Cheers!
Do you find the trackpad still responsive with the sticker? Do trackpads suffer from scratches? Thank you
@Blaize Pascall, I removed the trackpad skin and no longer use it. 🙏🏾
Hahaha. Glad it matched up and didn’t get to the end and the line was off! Thanks for posting!!!!!!!
@Michael Lee, hahaha... 😂 I know right?! Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏🏽 Cheers!
I have a question will MacBook skin causes hating issues on MacBook Air?
@NooB GuYs, no heating issues at all since the vent isn't blocked. Mine even has a case on top and bottom and the mac still works fine. Thanks for your comment and for watching the video! 🙏🏽
@@BernieHipos Thankyou for replying 🙂

I strongly suggest to not use skin in bottom of macbook air because its the place that the heat goes off it might makes it over heat
@amirmoheb fotouhi, thanks for your comment! So far in my experience it doesn't overheat at all and I have been using the MacBook Air to edit 4K videos and so far so good. Thank you for watching! Cheers!

Hi, Bernie. May I know your MacBook models timeline? I am just curious coz I might go back to an MBA in the future.
Nice video, btw. I subscribed!
Were those the timelines you were referring to? As they say, once you go mac, you won't go back! 👌🏼😀👍🏽
@@BernieHipos Wow, thats a lot of memory. Looking forward for your videos. I'm hooked. Salamat! ^__^
What if I wanted to remove the skin ? Does it leave the mac sticky ?
@Omar Alhamad, I removed the trackpad skin and it was not sticky and no residue at all. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏🏽 Cheers!

Some type C usb hub has single ports .. can we use single type C port hub for multi operations?
@Anvardheen J, I'd say you don't need a hub at all if it's a single USB-C port since the M1 MacBook Air has 2 already. And you can definitely use it for different purposes like plugging in your hard drive as well as for charging. Also, a USB-C hub is only useful in my opinion if it has multiple ports. I hope I answered your question. Thank you for watching the video! 🙏🏽

Is MacBook air M1 color accurate ?
Can we color grade in this machine ?
@Sudip chand, I’m not so sure since I haven’t tried it. I was only able to do some color correction using the built-in color correction tool in Final Cut Pro which is not bad, but for color grading, I use my iMac for that since the Cinema Grade app that I use isn’t compatible with the M1 Macs yet. Also, the screen of this M1 MacBook Air is not that bright for color grading. I hope I answered your question. Thanks for watching and commenting! 🙏🏽
