You sir will be remembered in the history of yt as the guy who made streaming tips videos but doesn't stream :3
I’ve been watching your vids over the past 3 years, since I started setting up OBS and live-streaming on Twitch. I trust your reviews and appreciate your help. Thank you mate.
Brilliant review man
Thank you for demoing how the lights look on their own without other lights, I think you're the only creator that did that and it helps a lot to see how well they actually work :)
Great video. Sick looking lights. But $199 a piece? My wallet says ouch.
My wallet says AliExpress
Awesome vid! Thanks for showing this product off. I will be saving up for some of these lights!
Thanks for the link in the description. I'll check this out . 👍
I discovered using large soft boxes on the sides of my desk (one on each side) and use them only as a soft reflector. I use LED light panels and bounce the light off the shadow box to illuminate me while not casting any shadows behind me. Also reduces glare from my eye glasses. Key Lights would work nicely in this set up as well.
Just bought 2 of these.. Loving the fact I can control them on my phone or through the stream deck XL.
That desk 😩😍😍
I like having more light on one side as well, so that's cool you can separate them. It gives more of a modeling effect.
Great product review as always!
This is what I need! Thanks for the update Mr. Stream Master.
Amazing video. One day I'll be able to afford these!
If you stream/content creation - the time put in with these is pennies on the dollar. With the integration, convenience and space saver makes it a no brainer if you have a stream deck already is a bonus. Great video!
as always, informative and crystal clear delivery.
this is definitely going on my list!
Thanks for the vid. Well explained and tempting me!
Jeeeees! This looks amazing. Hopefully I can get this some day.
I'm using the light you've recommended in your new setup video. It's working nicely for streaming and it costed me 63$ approx'. Elgato is just the Apple of streaming: they also found a niche and are abusing on their pricing. I like their product but their brand is quite expensive for what it is.
Another great video. The lights look good, being able to desk mount them is a great idea and the fact they work alongside the stream deck is awesome. The price is still pretty steep though for a single light unless you have some cash to burn for those additional features. I picked up 3 Bescor LED lights for £170 which are fantastic so essentially the same price for 1 would be hard to justify. It will be interesting to see how well these do and how they improve them moving forward.
Very well explained, thank you!
Thanks to you i make my channel better everyday thanks for all the advice , keep doing what you do .
Excellent tutorial. I have two Key Light Minis and one Key Light (as demonstrated in this video.) Beyond the great functionality and quality of the Elgato lighting products, I can also attest to the benefit that their "live" telephone technical support provides (at least here in the U.S.). I have had several opportunities to make use of it with great success. Just another reason to choose Elgato products over lessor priced "bargain" products. Hank
Love your videos, very informative.
Not sure if its been mentioned but you could actually just put both light activatoins into the multia-action option for elgato. I use multiaction buttons with 18 actions in them each.
the key feature is the integration with the streamdeck. so slick and professional. you can have different settings for different games i.e battlefield with snowmaps gives more front lighting from monitors than darksouls. after first settup just ad a macro and youre one click away. instead of manual tuning on cheap lights. amazing product. alittle pricey but great.
So undersubscribed channel
Love your videos
been waiting for some more streaming advice! stuff on more software lol
200 geez glad you get it for free but as for the rest of us 1 light 200 bucks. No way
Nice video! I ordered one so you should get the affiliate commish.
Great video. Thanks!
this is a really good tool for streamers 👍
whilst a good idea, I think for the price I would still prefer to stick to a lighting brand like aputure, for a somewhat similar if not the same price they are way more flexible in their use, however not everyone is tech savvy or have a use for them outside just streaming so I see what part of the market they fill, elgato is almost a one stop shop now joining corsair to get a stream off the ground
Amazing and thorough review. I have a question tho. Let's imagine that I turn off my Wi-Fi because my PC is linked to a Internet source by cable. Am I able to use those lights ?! It's cool that they are software driven, but sometime I need to run them even without wifi.
I was looking at your set up. And thought. Wow two lights really would be amazing. But then almost died when I heard 200 as the price. Amazing video though!!
Use a multi-action to turn them on and off together
Thank you for a awesome video. 😀 👍
Great job, as allways! :D
excellent review
I’m still contemplating wether to get the Elgatos green screen. Just seems convenient but I hate the price tags on all these good quality products lol . Daaamn you Elgato
Its very Helpfull, during my first stream with elgato I didnt know about this, And I thought it was by comand voice or clap, so you canj imagine all my stream claping and saying pls Lampy dont turn off.
Thats SO SICK!
I built my own one of these using a cheap led floodlight on eBay. It works well.
I'm loving how your videos are looking more professional with each video. Personally the Elgato lights seem to be a little overpriced, there are other lighting rigs that do all this for lower prices, also DIY options are definitely available. But if you're already serious and you have the money, be my guest, definitely efficiency is key.
Awesome video Pete!
Very nice my man!
Great review. Hey ... at time stamp 2:19 on your monitor there is something that I would be interested in. It says “Learning to live stream” what it that and how can I get it 😁
Great video!
This is awesome man!! I am going to love this!!!
Murray Frost You’re a mug mate
@@vToneehh Not sure what that means....
What would be the best place to position the light? Would be better just above the monitor or extended as high it can go?
I wish they had coloured led’s too.
Would be awesome when someone’s follows or subscribed and they flash in colours.
Very cool!
Hey off topic a bit but I’m really digging the foam panels on your walls. Any chance you can tell me where you got it from? Thanks!
Can you connect some other kind of stand into the key light‘s screw mount? (For instance a camera tripod or something like that?)
omg that desk was awesome what type of desk is that does anyone know ?
Hey bro! could you please show us moer details about your camera? model, lens that you use and how is mounted on the table please?
Cool desk what brand is it and where can i get one
I’m sure you have all the videos in playlists already, but could you make a playlist dedicated it console based setups?
Other than using iPhone back camera with say Riverside, what other cameras would you recommend?
what camera are you using, special lens and what stand to mount it that high? would love to know!
hey can you help in my mic setup. I find your mic really good. Good content man helping out a lot.
DeskLamp, DIY softbox and a nice LUT, that's all I got and it's more than enough for my taste.
I hate to play games in a well lit room...
Nice lights but hard to justify over Aputure lights with hardware control and optional battery operation at a much cheaper price.
Take 50 off and it'd be a better deal, feels like we're paying that for the software.
Ok but I have one umbrella and one box light (like the ones you showed in the video) I have just enough space behind my desk to put the stand for the lights (its an almost triangle desk) Is it worth spending that much money buying two of these lights or should I just keep what I have?
I have a stupid question - What are those sound insulation thingies you have on your wall called?
Thanks for a great channel, really happy i found this :-)
I am curious about the desk you are using in this video. What kind is it and where did you purchase it?
What camera mount are you using in this video? Thanks!
Hey i saw that u use the stream deck and the stream deck mini how do you do this
for the viewer a key light is perfect for the eye, but how is it affecting the feeling for the streamer? When I stream/play games I like the dark feeling for focus and some RGB lights but when they stream with key light it must be very bright for them infront of them on the desk if you understand me..
Yea ill probs buy it when its in stock
please i need answer what is the length of mount clamp ?
Have you done a vid on your camera and mic set-up?
I still waiting for this
what are you using to mount your camera to the table?
if I am using direct ethernet for internet.... can i set up a wireless dongle just for the elgato key lights? or would setting up the wireless dongle force me to use wifi as opposed to ethernet for internet?
I worry about how hard on the eyes these (or any other lights) are. What do you guys recommend? Any of them easy on the eyes?
Hey can you do a tutorial on when switching senses an animated video come up then goes to the thing you switched just like courageJD and ninja
I really like these, but damn, the price is huge!
I have limited space, so these would help a lot, they also look a lot better than the large light I have right now, and my architect lamp - but the price makes it almost impossible for me to justify.
@GamingCareers do you have a video that shows how to put panels in your Twitch bio??
Hey, to turn both on with one key press, just setup a "Multi-Action Command" that turns one on then turns the other one on...no?
Can these attach well to floor light stands?
8:52 Why not just set up a Multi Action button on the Stream Deck to control multiple lights (on/off) simultaneously?
How many would I need for dark streams I’m using black lights aswell wanted to use the blue light setting would I pass for 1 can’t afford two atm?
How do you mount your camera on your desk?
Since these don't come in a 2 pack, do you think that just having 1 directly in front of you would suffice? as compared to one on the left and right of the subject?
Thanks for the video, not many reviews out there on these lights.
NextTimeTech ok
You really deserve Mil Subs
These are awesome, would love 2 but the price is too high for smaller creators like me.
What is you camera in this video?
So Pete - what about availability in the UK? I've been waiting 12 months for ANY of the major UK resellers to have stock of the Elgato Green Screen but still no sign of it here. Are these lights going to have the same problem?
Does the single purchase come with 2 lights or only 1 light per purchase
Can u plz do a video on a dual pc setup with audio and all. Im have a lot of issues trying to figure it out
oh my god, plz do a video like this... I am also having issues
did u feel the heat from that distance shown in ur video?
Do you have an extra one for “Testing Purposes”? ☺️
Excellent video as usual! My only pain point is the price. $200.00 each is extremely overpriced. I would've considered them if they were 300.00 for a pair.
I know you tried to justify the $200 price tag, but there is really no reason for these to be over $120 at the most other than the fact that it's Elgato and they know people will buy it. I'll just wait for the hype train to die down and grab them at a discounted price...
I agree. I think the reason for the cost is partially the software and integration. Still, I'm with you I think $200 is a bit steep for this, especially because I've got my light set up pretty well, which would mean reworking my setup with these new lights.
You an buy the Amaran M9. (A film/photographer light) for 75% less. It’s a smaller light, so the shadows are more harsh but it it is a great light if you don’t have a lot of space and need a good light
@REEL SIXX that's not a valid excuse to overcharge for your product imo
I did some research and apparently key lights usually cost around $280 so for $200 it is a good deal for what it does...
You don't need to pay $280 for a key light. Most lights don't cost that much unless you're really starting to go professional and need to worry about exact kelvin, or precise lighting control. Also don't be fooled by terminology. Key light just means main light. It will be your brightest light, but thats as much as it really means. That being said this is a really good and much needed product. Not surprised its $200 when its just come out, but realistically this should be $120 to maybe $150 considering you'll be wanting to buy 2. $400 for a set is pie in the sky for most people this targets, particularly when you can get reasonable alternatives for an absolute fraction of the cost.
Elgato's USP is convenience. People pay a premium for convenience. That's why they can and do overcharge. I own an Elgato Stream Deck and Green Screen and a very much like both and didn't much paying the high price for them. Whilst the convenience of turning on a light with the Stream Deck is appealing, you can achieve this with an Alexa controlled mains plug and IFTTT. With regards to the softbox comparison, you need to consider that they are only around $25 including tripod and huge bulb...and they are EIGHT times bigger in surface area (and brighter) than the Elgato Key Light panels.
Where do you create those awesome thumbnails of yours?
or you can buy the yongnuo 600 ledlights for almost half the price. and if lumen was a problem, the yongnuo have 4800 lumen output.
wish my setup was similar
Can't you turn both lights on and off using a multi action?
