    The Mini Monstera aka Rhaphidophora tetrasperma has been one of my absolute favorite plants to watch grow. They have been exploding in size, climbing all over the place. So to keep its growth in check I've been doing some propagating so I wanted to share with you how to take cuttings of your Mini Monsteras so you can successfully grow new plants! #monstera #houseplants #plantvibrations #minimonstera #indoorgarden

      @@plantvibrations So my monstera is doing so well and so beautiful. I took a cutting and I was patient and it started rooting! Yay! It even started growing another leaf while in water. My question is the roots are growing out of the water. Is that normal? Should I place it in a pot now?

    How do you know when it’s ready to be repotted? Do you have a video on how you repot the mini monstera?

    • @plantvibrations
      @plantvibrations  Год назад +1

      The best way to tell is to lift it out of the pot and if it easily comes out with a single solid root ball then it’s time to repot. If it isn’t filling the pot or leaves a lot of soil in the container when you pull out the roots, then it’s not ready

    Question! What will happen the place where you trimmed on the original plant? Will it eventually grow out again? I have a mini monstera but it only has one stem and I'm scared to propagate it from the top because I don't want to kill it!

    • @plantvibrations
      @plantvibrations  2 года назад +3

      hi crissy! yes they will absolutely start to regrow from where you cut. it may take up to 6 weeks but they do indeed start growing again

  • @sunkyungberg
    @sunkyungberg Год назад

    So when I cut to propagate, does the cut stem in the original plant grow anything after or is it done for? I have just a single stem and have cup to propagate, but wish the original one was still growing 😢

  • @don555551

    How many days before you change the water in water propagation? And where do you place it?

    • @plantvibrations
      @plantvibrations  2 года назад

      I really don’t ever change the water but will top it off with more water maybe once every two weeks. Anywhere that is warm is a good place to put it. They don’t need bright light while forming roots

    I’ve tried propagating my Raphi but no progress for weeks now. 2 in water 2 in sphagnum and 1 top cutting. roots aren’t growing on the single leaf nodes in either prop method. The top cutting is the only one with progress. I’ve noticed the top cutting areal root was nice and green and this is the only one growing. The other’s have callused roots. Should i scrape the callus off the root to expose the root underneath and then try again?

      Sometimes raphidophora need really long time to start rooting. If you want a bit faster I would recommend put cutting of epipremnum. It will give growing hormones to the water or also you can use supertrive which helping with roots development too

    • @plantvibrations

      While they root in water they don’t need much light at all! If you’re going straight to soil, morning light would be good, no direct south facing window tho!

    I know this video is old, but I recently transplated cuttings of this plant into soil and shortly after doing so, the leaves turned yellow, and now I have two bare stalks😢. Will new leaves emerge?

    • @plantvibrations
      @plantvibrations  3 месяца назад +1

      how robust were the roots of the cuttings? they should be pretty hefty and then transplanted to a small container. leaves turning yellow sounds like they were either not able to bring water to the foliage due to lack of roots and/or overly moist soil cause them to suffocate due to lack of oxygen in soil
