    Finally, I know the name of my plant, mini monstera,,,,,my plant finder named it Monstera Obliqua also Monstera Adonsonai, but it doesn’t look exactly like those…I repotted it, put it on a trellis and it’s growing like crazy…I’m going to propagate it soon…thanks for the great tips…

    Perfect timing! I checked on my cutting as I wondered why it wasn’t thriving! Root rot. Out of the soil and into moss to save I hope.

    Hi. Great video. I just got two small cuttings with a bit of roots from ebay. I live in a low humidity state. I have the cuttings in water under a small clear plastic bowl (dollar store “greenhouse”). Is it better to let them get accustomed to low humidity from the beginning? I’m wondering if it will get used to the humidity then die once I remove it from the bowl/greenhouse dome once it gets too big. Any recommendations about this? Thanks!

    Hi, is it important to cut the cuttings near the node?
    I took a cutting from my plant at half way betweeen two nodes and it seems that the original plant is not growing back from the cut area. The area looks like wood.

    Hi, do they get as big as a mature montera if you have them grow roots in a pole. Or do they usually maintain this medium leave size? I just got one and I’m debating whether to put it on a pole or have it climb around my room. Yours is gorgeous much bigger than the ones I've seen, which is what made me curiois about their size.

    Love your videos! What are your thoughts on moss pole vs wood plank?

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 года назад

      I think it really depends on the plant, but I tend to lean more towards moss and coir poles as opposed to planks. That being said, I've got some plants (Monstera Dubia for example) that's happily climbing a plank 💚

    According to the RHS app, Ours is apparently the same altho looks much more ‘foliage’ on it. We’ve had it three weeks now and have watered it only twice when soil began to feel slightly drier but it’s started to kind of fall right over rather than be upright. Any ideas as to what we might be doing wrong? Thank you in advance ☺️

      8 months later😂why dont you plant a similar companion try grower like monstera adansonii and keep propagating from original plant so you have a bushier plant, let part trail but most crawl up that empty space... let only a few keep climbing on original plant... or do the same from the top of that 7 ft. youre going to run out of space soon😂

      Moss has always worked best for this plant in my experience, just be sure not to pack the moss in too tightly, leave it nice and airy 💚

  • @scotthc4068
    @scotthc4068 2 года назад

    Once you’ve taken the cutting, does the parent plant continue to grow a single steam or branch?

    • @TheJungleHaven
      @TheJungleHaven  2 года назад

      So although it won't grow from the exact same growth point, it tends to form one very close to it, so once it gets going will look very similar to the original stem. If you chop and propagate a plant regularly it can start to encourage other growth points along the main stem to pop and "branch". I go through this in my recent propagation video and show some examples (just incase that wasn't clear) 💚

      Hmm I know younger leaves can sometimes struggle to produce fenestration... I'd maybe suggest increasing it's light and if you're not already adding some fertiliser into your watering routine? 💚
