    Yep, I was having issues with mine since I bought it. Been trying everything I kno of to save it. Finally I transplanted it as a last effort to save it an sure enough it had been in a fabric plug that was choking it to death. I managed to save one vine with 3 little leaves from a full 5/6" hanging basket that I paid $29 for. It about made me sick but at least I have a start from it so not a total loss. Great video.

    just came home from vacay and found one of mine limp and pale. i had repotted it several weeks ago but the roots had rotted in just that amt. of time. thanx for the tip about letting the cut end callous a bit before putting it in water to prop.

    I'm sure glad I went back and watched this video again! I acquired a Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma 5 days ago from my local nursery, and didn't check for a fabric plug. I got lucky. Apparently my local nursery doesn't buy from a supplier that uses fabric plugs, because there was no plug on my plant. He is repotted in the proper soil, and I will keep an eye on him. Thank you!

    I’ve to cut mine back twice in the change of season summer to fall due to root rot 😢 my own fault but sad none the less. On the road to new roots and planting it up soon 😊

    This plant is so delicate! I bought one about a month ago and it took a tiny tumble in the car on the way home, it literally just fell on its side a bit, and like five leaves broke off. I was so sad, but it still looked ok. Then I decided to wipe down its leaves with a damp paper towel to get rid of some of the mineral deposit stains it had from the store, and the next day a bunch of those leaves looked like I had rubbed them with battery acid or something. Wth!! So far, we are not getting along with each other and I've crammed it behind my other plants. 😅 The stems have multiple growth points coming out of everywhere, so I'm hopeful it will recover and I've learned to handle it with kid gloves.

    Hi there love your videos you’ve probably already mentioned this before but do you use your own substrate and if so, do you mind sharing your chunky mix recipe thanks so much

    Mine got lanky and I put him on a spagnum moss pole. He loves it and roots into the pole and the internodal space is a bit smaller

    You are an excellent teacher! I hate those fabric plugs! They have been the downfall of several plants I've had. I just wasn't aware of them or soul types. Thanks to you, I've learned so much! Propagating my first corm and it's in a bottle cap!

    After a weekend of intense heat, I saw brown spots on my Philodendron that had previously been thriving on my covered patio so I decided to try to save it. It is a common variety and was a discount rack purchase from early summer, but I can’t just let it die without at least making an effort! I repotted it and found the remnants of a fabric plug. I don’t know if that had anything to do with the problem.

      Who knows, could have been a combination of the two. I hope it recovers ok for you🤞🏻

    Didn't hear any mention of maintaining the finestrations? If I take a top cutting between 2 finestrated leaves, will the next leaf on both the mother plant & the cutting be finestrated?? I prefer a bushy full potted plant over a lon-nng trailing w/ a bunch of aerial roots

    • @AlohaPlantLife
      @AlohaPlantLife  6 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve never had a problem with it maintaining fenestrations. That seems to be a bigger issue on Monstera than on this plant.

    I have this plant from some time,I think two months. Didn't do anything. Is not growing any leaf. It's seems like a crowling, has an horizontal "root". From this, are a few normal roots. All the leaves it has, are more horizontally positioned. What can I do with this plant? The soil is from your list of soils. Y have this video downloaded.
    Thank you!❤

    • @AlohaPlantLife
      @AlohaPlantLife  11 месяцев назад +1

      It’s definitely a climber but it will grow towards the closest light source if it’s not getting enough light so maybe that’s why it’s growing horizontally for you?

    I bought mine a couple months ago. I repotted it into my chunky mix & put it on a moss pole. I water my poles every 4 days b4 the moss becomes hydrophobic. The color is good, the lighting & humidity is great, but instead of sizing up, the leaves are getting smaller & smaller. I can’t figure it out. All of my other plants are thriving & sizing up appropriately. I fertilize weakly with every watering except once or twice a month. It’s growing fine, just not sizing up. I’m stumped by this. Idk if it’s genetics or if there’s something not quite right in my home. Any ideas? I don’t have pest issues either.

    I’ve had mine since February with no issues. However, I think you put out this video just in time, because I checked mine for plugs. Of course, they had them and it was like superglued to the roots.

    I’m getting one tomorrow for my birthday 🥳 I have aroid mix & moss poles. This has been on my wishlist for a while. I’m in a very small tiny house, so I can’t have a large monstera. I had beautiful plants in Hawaii, but now. I’m limited with space.

    The tc genetics have been terrible/unpredictable in my experience, I had to eventually toss my RT. I got another one from a friend and found it finicky. I switched it to leca and it's now thriving,go figure!

      Most people don’t want longer nodes, but if you really want that, give it less light.
