      How? I mean the leave he cut off was keeping it from being placed in a vase. Or should he have placed it in a wider bucket.

    • @pershop4950
      @pershop4950 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Wotoriouscan you put it in water bucket or he could have cut that leaf off with its own node, and now he has two cuttings. One cutting with one leaf and another cutting with two leaves.

    • @magnitogorski
      @magnitogorski 3 месяца назад

      Cutting the first 2 nodes leave is because he wants 2 root nodes for the same new plant Just an option if you just want one new plant with better root system, and so better growth and strenght.

      Same. Here in South Kona. The leaves on the monstera climbing up a Cook Pine are enormous, over 3 ft long! Have to chop it down, along with the fruit before it smothers the tree. Will try to propagate it now!

    I appreciate your video so much. Thanks for showing the new leaf growth from the cutting you took from the main plant my concern was if another leaf will come in. I also appreciate you for showing the propagation a month later giving a clear visual understanding of how the process goes and take place. It took so many video before getting to yours for me to say okay I got it haha. I was scared if I cut a nod too far back on my monstera that another leaf will not form on the original plant I got the cutting from l.

    Great information, Devin. Thank you! My neighbour gave me a Monstera deliciosa last year having shoveled all her walks (along with mine) during the winter months here on
    Vancouver Island. It was big when she gave it to me in so much that its growth could no longer support the pot. It kept tipping over. I will heed your advise and do some propagating
    to make some babies and share them with all my other neighbours. On a side note, my twin brother propagates all his plants in his aquarium. It's warm with lots of free fertilizer.
    Cheers!

    Hey I have been propagating my monstera for over a month and the leaves are very Droopy. What can be causes a monstera in water to be droopy?

      Hmmm that’s really odd, how many leaves are on your prop?

      @@plantvibrations Two leaves. They have grown alot of roots but the actual leaves are droopy and very flimsy.

    I would have cut the third leaf with a node and put it in to the same vase for the second monstera. Having at least one leaf on the cuttings fastens the rooting process like 10 times comparing to growing a cuttings without leafs.

    If you have an aquarium air stone and add that to the vase, you'll get *way* more rooting. I added a single-leaf node to a vase with an air stone about 6 weeks ago mostly just as an experiment, and the roots are wild - totally filled the vase, probably like 10x what this node got! I'm kind of hesitant to take it out and see if it keeps growing, even though the roots have gone crazy there hasn't been any new leaf growth yet.

      I’m not familiar with air stones, I’ll have to look them up!

    Just became a fan of a giant unruly Monstera. I watched your video on staking, but my question: you mentioned "clearing or cleaning" up around the base. What do you mean? My plant has many smaller stems and leaves coming from the base.

      I mean just cutting away all the extra small leaves coming out of the base. But if you like the unruly look then just let them be!

    Hi other videos say the pot should not be too big, nog bigger than the roots. Otherwise there will be rot.

    • @plantvibrations
      @plantvibrations  Год назад

      It’s a question of watering frequency and ambient temperature that would lead to rot
