@SupplyGuy I have an Aloe. But Boylei not Aloe. It is very old and produced tons of babies. Since I have no space, I had put them EVERYWHERE. And they grow anywhere. As you mentioned, the ones with direct full sunlight behind the window show some orange, hurt leave-tips. They can adopt but slowly. E.g. if you want to grow them in a full sunlight place: Put them there in winter. Once summer comes, they know HEAT :) Not the movie, they are too young for that!

I have done this. My mother in law had 3 large monsteras, she had them for 35 years. But they got thrown outside and forgotten for a decade. No water and not a lot of sun. I found them and they looked like yours but I brought them all back to life and they're huge! I took node cuttings from all 3 and made a bunch more propagations from those. I just barely covered mine with potting soil and they rooted.

Found a broken off branch of monstera on the ground some almost 3 months ago. There were about 7 leaves and most of them were in bad shape, so i took them off and buried the branch in dirt. This video finally brought me the courage to dig it up and cut it up to propagate. Apparently every single node has rooted very nicely! Now i have 5 chonks to share :) hopefully i don't have to wait too long for them to shoot up leaves now that there are alr plenty of roots. Thanks Techplant

Someone made the cutting and then quit and it was going to be thrown away so I asked if I could have it. Couldn’t bare to see it get thrown out. No idea what I’m doing with it though and having to learn fast 😅

Random advice... Purchase sterile single use scalpels online they'll be equally as sharp and you'll have better control and safety :)
If you need a wider razor and that's why you're using that one you can get an old school solid metal straight razor and strop and boil between cuttings for sterility. Awesome video!

Great and inspiring video! Abundant in much needed info. In fact, I am currently on day 7, reviving an adansonii, in similar condition. I got encouraged from your "Does node size matter..." vid. I followed every tip, specially about the blade, and they are doing fantastic so far. Only different with mine is that I used paper towels for the really tiny one node, and pumice for those with internodes to spare. Also am situated in the Philippines, so I guess the natural high humidity helped a lot.
Another thing may I add, I noticed that near each node (even the nearest to the roots), a small baby plant(triaglular-shaped bump) is present. I made sure that that area is facing upward and not facing down buried in pumice.
Thank's again and good luck to your future experiments.

I have a very sad but formerly very LARGE Monstera with only one mostly green leaf that I repotted, but it has just been wilting. I am so emotionally attached to this plant and you gave me hope and proof that it can be saved, so thank you 😭 I’m sad it basically has to start over when this thing, when I got it, was 4 feet tall with leaves with double fenestrations, and it’s gonna be years until it can get back to that point, but I hope I can maintain care of it for that long because it will be so rewarding to see it grow 🥹 I have severe ADHD and depression which led to neglect, but the plant never gave up on me, so I’m not giving up on it. It was attempting to put out new leaves the whole year that I’ve had it (and mistreated it) and I’m just so happy it gets another chance.

If you don't want to wait to callous fresh cuts but you also struggle with mold and rot, get yourself some horticultural dusting sulfur. It's sold as antifungal plant product. :) Immediately brush the fresh cuts with the powder so it's evenly covered or dip the ends into a pile of powder. Let it dry for a few seconds and then brush or tap off the excess. Voila. The cut is sealed with a substance that won't harm the plant at all and will kill any mold trying to grow into the cutting from the ends. :) I always dust my cacti cut wounds with sulfur. Always.

Great video - one thing i dont understand is what is the value of a clean cut? I get that the razorblade does a great job at creating a clean lasting cut but why do we value this?

It decreases surface area, allowing it to heal faster and preventing disease spread.
Imagine if you cut your hand with a very clean, surgical cut. Then imagine if you shredded and crushed your flesh while cutting with a dull pair of scissors. Which would heal faster?

Best video on monstera wet sticks. I'm trying mine covering only the aerial roots in water. Don't want to sink the stems to avoid rottening. And also, I put three in soil with perlite. Just experimenting. Have you tried to grow wet sticks in water or soil?

I havent tried water or soil, but many times I throw adansonii or pothos vines in my dirt bucket and they randomly sprout up in pots that I reported with that soil lol

My good friend’s father also uses razors like that for splitting bread he’s about to bake. His trick to making it more safe is, get a wooden coffee stirrer from Starbucks and “weave” it in the razor. That way you don’t have to hold the razor with your bare hands… ands it’s free! I’m
Sure using a pliers would work even better 😅.

tbh im surprised they didnt grow even more. I completely cut down my monstera into about 12 nodes last october, propped them all, and the ones I kept are on their 5th-6th leaf which is super impressive because they did absolutely nothing until march. My monster albo node I got 3 weeks ago is now putting out its second leaf, maybe I'm just blessed by the monstera gods lol.
