If you don't want to wait to callous fresh cuts but you also struggle with mold and rot, get yourself some horticultural dusting sulfur. The views are really not doing justice to the work you put into this video over months - super impressed and honestly annoyed I DON’T have a monstera in my collection… They are hard to kill and easy to propagate, clearly!
Long time no see!! Glad to see your back. Could you possibly do a video on growing plants in strictly water for those of us who have a habit of forgetting to water our plants? Thank you!
I had a stem cutting of a Phil. Rugosum and it took one year and two months to do anything. I was so dang proud to make this little nub work and actually start to activate its eye.
I'm so glad I found you and this experiment your doing! It has answered some questions I had and it was interesting to watch the stages at which you checked them. I have been experimenting on some props myself and I find it so exciting to see new growth! I have a couple of monsters algo cuttings with a single leaf that I have been propagating for a little bit over a month and some change, One cutting rooted beautifully early on and I have two pushing out new growth but no roots. I'm a. I'm worried they about them getting rot before they grow roots. Do you have any tips or care for those two? Thanks!!
Great video - one thing i dont understand is what is the value of a clean cut? I get that the razorblade does a great job at creating a clean lasting cut but why do we value this?
It decreases surface area, allowing it to heal faster and preventing disease spread. Imagine if you cut your hand with a very clean, surgical cut. Then imagine if you shredded and crushed your flesh while cutting with a dull pair of scissors. Which would heal faster?
Well heck…I just ordered a single node albo cutting and suddenly RUclips brings me here. Big Brother is watching lol, but thank you for this great video!
Best video on monstera wet sticks. I'm trying mine covering only the aerial roots in water. Don't want to sink the stems to avoid rottening. And also, I put three in soil with perlite. Just experimenting. Have you tried to grow wet sticks in water or soil?
I havent tried water or soil, but many times I throw adansonii or pothos vines in my dirt bucket and they randomly sprout up in pots that I reported with that soil lol
I did the same half a year ago I was also very surprised some cuttings that almost had no node rooted left some days ago my Mican’s fell ontop of my variegated monstera so also made some cuttings of that one🤞^^
My good friend’s father also uses razors like that for splitting bread he’s about to bake. His trick to making it more safe is, get a wooden coffee stirrer from Starbucks and “weave” it in the razor. That way you don’t have to hold the razor with your bare hands… ands it’s free! I’m Sure using a pliers would work even better 😅.
tbh im surprised they didnt grow even more. I completely cut down my monstera into about 12 nodes last october, propped them all, and the ones I kept are on their 5th-6th leaf which is super impressive because they did absolutely nothing until march. My monster albo node I got 3 weeks ago is now putting out its second leaf, maybe I'm just blessed by the monstera gods lol.

" Laziness is my friend" 👍👍💯
Great video and information
Nice video ! I had all of my monsteras attacked by thrips this summer so I’m giving a shot at the clay balls propagation. 🤷♂️
Thanks again for the video !
Thanks for watching, good luck!
LOVE experiment updates!!
Thanks for watching!
The views are really not doing justice to the work you put into this video over months - super impressed and honestly annoyed I DON’T have a monstera in my collection… They are hard to kill and easy to propagate, clearly!
You gotta get one! They are easily in my top 10 easy yet rewarding plants too have
Long time no see!! Glad to see your back. Could you possibly do a video on growing plants in strictly water for those of us who have a habit of forgetting to water our plants? Thank you!
Sure thing!
@@TechplantChannel thank you! I can't wait and my plants will thank you ☺️
I want that T-shirt! ❤
Thanks!!
Have no fear once the new growth gets bigger it will root from the new nodes. Even if old node rots it won't affect the new growth
Thank you for sharing! So helpful.
Also, maybe try a box cutter? They use similar razor blades inside, and that way you have a handle 😊
Amazing Demonstration.love it
Nice, patience is a virtue 👌
For sure! Bins make it convenient tho because they greatly reduce thr work in caring for cuttings
Amazing to see it grow over years!!! Such a great video!
Thanks for watching!
Well heck…I just ordered a single node albo cutting and suddenly RUclips brings me here. Big Brother is watching lol, but thank you for this great video!
Good luck with your node!!
@@TechplantChannel So, my monstera wet sticks might still have a chance... I'll update you in 9 months!!! haha.
This is another amazing video! Great job!
Thank you!
Enjoyed your video! Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thank you for watching!
This is such an informative video! Just what I was looking for. Thank you so much!!! ❤
I did the same half a year ago I was also very surprised some cuttings that almost had no node rooted left some days ago my Mican’s fell ontop of my variegated monstera so also made some cuttings of that one🤞^^
Very nice!
I am going to try this - Thanks!
Interesting, you helped me a lot because i'm new into monstera, but i can't look at the grass you have, just can't ahhh ^^'
My good friend’s father also uses razors like that for splitting bread he’s about to bake. His trick to making it more safe is, get a wooden coffee stirrer from Starbucks and “weave” it in the razor. That way you don’t have to hold the razor with your bare hands… ands it’s free! I’m
Sure using a pliers would work even better 😅.
My favorite plant RUclips channel. Keep it up man you're doing awesome!
Thank you for your support!
Great video man. I don’t mind these long videos at all.
Good to hear this was much longer than usual!
tbh im surprised they didnt grow even more.
Bro thank you for that dedication! Video gave me the courage to start propping. Love that shirt too!
I just love your channel! I love to propagate so we are on the same wave length! You inspired me to get my box cutter out!!!😂 look out monstera, here I come!
