    My wife and I retired in San Pancho, we love it. Typical day for us is waking up at 5am, doing yoga by the beach, then we go have breakfast and chill at a local Cafe. I also take Spanish lessons in town 3x a week. Our living expenses are about $1,400 a month.

    I see that you have done a few videos with him, but this one in combination with the first part seems the most in depth. Its interesting to see how he lives so simply. Im still young, so i still have many years until i retire, at lest 30 years probably, but i feel i could live a simple life like this and be happy.

  • @brian5606
    @brian5606 5 лет назад

    How does my social security check get to me when I'm rented up there. I'm totally interested but not fully aware if how my things will get to me there from here in the states once there. I'd prefer to get a local person down there to find a suitable rental for me instead of an American company or person finding it. I'm 61 and in a year I'll have $1200 to live on and am considering doing what this fine gentlemen here has done. I'm a mechanic farmer type myself, love the Mexican way and the food is at the top of my list on eating. There's just a few things not clear how the transactions take place smoothly and stay smoothly.

    I'm an elderly woman planning to travel alone, from Vegas to see Lo De Marcos. Can you recommend a shuttle service that would pick me up from PV airport, or is it easy to get a taxi from airport to the bus station, and arrange my own ride.

    Hi, I am Mexican and all these videos stress me out so much! Seems to me that these areas are going through a gentrification process. With the arrival of more Americans everything becomes more expensive! Mexican life is so simple why do you guys make everything so complicated?
    1. You moved to Mexico create your own communities and don't mixed with the locals
    2. You live in a foreign country and want to live like you are in your hometown, things change with location, culture, currency, etc.
    3. Why Dollars? Why US Real States Companies? in Mexico we sell owner to owner.
    4. If you only have Mexican friends they would try to help you find the best deals, Why help US Real State Companies in Mexico, instead of helping the locals, they would assist you, and sell you properties at more affordable prices, and even allow you to live in their properties for free if they have the space ( Mexicans that live in the States that own properties they want people to live in their houses with the only condition of taking care of the house)
    5. When in Rome... mixed in the locals and none of these videos i have seen people sharing with Mexican people, why do they need gated communities? to be protected from crime? Mexican people don't live in gated communities.
    6. Don't mixed with the Mexicans only to do your yard work, or your cooking if you want to have a peaceful, affordable life Mexico is a great place to do it, but do it right.
    7. If you know TEACH and if you don't know ASK.

    • @JerryBrownTravels
      @JerryBrownTravels  6 лет назад +2

      The times are changing and in Mexico it's no different. More people are at the age to retire and are looking for low-cost places to live and retire such as Mexico, Ecuador, Balise, Thailand, and the Philippines. Unfortunately these countries are not as cheap as they used to be. In 2018 the average cost of living for ex-pats in these countries has moved up 30 to 40% more in these emerging countries. Small apartments or homes used to be able to rent for $350 a month now will be $500 a month as an example.
      Thank you
      Jerry & Lori

    Really appreciate and respect this kind of existence and lifestyle, but having lost my youth, it's just too harsh. Need more amenities. I love the idea of reduced waste and carbon footprint along with the philosophy of things needed vs things wanted. I live this way also, to an extent. To me, it is more of a spiritual life which makes me very, very much at peace.

    You do awesome videos - thank you for all of them! I would love to move to Mexico - hubby n I are both on social security - draw backs: we have guardianship of our great grandson, and hubby has health issues and is on monthly meds for diabetes, blood pressure, thyroid, blood thinner n he’s 76 yrs old. Perhaps that kind of scenario could be addressed in a video? For what we have for retired income - we probably could live very comfortable - just some of the info I’ve read, hubbies health issues could be an issue and quite expensive if at all for health insurance down there. Perhaps you know something I haven’t found info wise?
