My ex once got mad at me that I "need to touch every leave we walk by". I felt so weird and got a little bit hurt to be honest, I did it because I felt happy, felt like a little kid again with him. But I felt so disappointed after he judged me for doing harmless stuff like this. Watching this video and seeing her gliding her fingers through the tall grass, gives me a sense of empowerment and calmness that what I am doing is not wrong, it serves my inner child. I am still interacting with nature, like forming hearts out of leaves, but it is still great seeing such a wise person doing "childish" stuff like this.

At 75, I really appreciate her wise words. I have also reached the conclusion that we are all the same. And different. We are made up of atoms, minerals, etc etc. The universe is pretty much made out of the same basics, so I see myself as part of the One, as we all are. I agree with: "it's all such a mystery. A bell tolled inside me when I read your words. Such an astute remark! Elders must be revered for their accumulated wisdom & light, which is like a shining beacon to us all; guiding us on our lifepath.
As she spoke I was full of curiosity about her. Your film didn't show her hobbies or cooking, but I did love seeing her exercise. However, her advice to 'Go slow' for longevity was so simple yet it really resonated with me. I quit an unsustainable career at 53 and moved to a cottage in the woods near a sweet village. I'm 72 now and when she said 'Go slow' I breathed a sigh of agreement. I've been slow living for nearly twenty years and have no health problems yet. What gets me out of bed when it feels like everyone in my circle of intimates is suffering is my piano, which I started learning to play when I was 66.
I do agree that living in the moment,going slow is good for one. Playing piano or any instrument is a wonderful solace, whether you’re experienced or beginning--you have to be in the moment and not think of anything else. It’s been mine for many ,many years.

I turned 81 this year. I recently received word that my college roommate died this year. Seems like just yesterday that we were a couple of 18 year old kids starting out in life. A life is such a blink of an eye. Looking back on my long life I would suggest two worthy goals to strive for in a well-lived life. One is to be a good listener. And two is to be a good "noticer". When I wake up each morning, I say to myself "Yay! I still exist. I get another day of conscious awareness. I get another day of hundreds of thoughts to enjoy" Death doesn't scare me because when my brain dies, I won't know I'm dead, just like all the billions of years before I was born..
The possibility that one can be so lucid, vital, fit and physically/mentally able at that age, when you're nearing the end of life, is equally comforting and terrifying
This is a special person, who's years on this earth weren't waisted as she was paying attention! She saw the wonders of life and lived it with appreciation and respect.

One day my adult daughter and I were talking about aging and I said to her ‘I feel like I’m 7’ and then she replied ‘well I feel like I’m 5’. And we have kept it going all these years. She’ll ask me something like - ‘well why did you do that’? And I’ll reply ‘because I’m 7’ and then we laugh. We should all keep that child like wonder through our golden years and beyond.

Did anyone else smile, cry, or laugh when watching this? I felt all that. What a wonderful being who knows what life is about. Key is being grateful. While she informs us to "take it slow," my 96 y.o granny told me to "never stop moving." She had this little picture in her kitchen that said "Don't wait for your ship to sail in, swim out after it." In terms of her advice, I know its truth because when we stop moving either physically or mentally, it is a form of giving up. Our bowels shut down, our muscles atrophy, we are prone to pneumonia, and mental lethargy, and so much more. In some ways this woman reminds me of Granny.

I was, for years, drawn toward the static idea of "spiritual freedom". It was a catch-phrase being tossed around in the 70's & after, & I gravitated toward that 3-D "freedom" idea but never reached it. The wording "spiritual liberation" is an action term (to me) that my heart had never contemplated but that I had always needed to recognize and to act upon to help me fulfill my purpose in living the slow-life to my current age of 92. How grateful I am to find it sequestered here in a beautifully simple comment in this awesome realm of beings opening their hearts so comfortably. Thank you, Peter, for providing me a key piece of terminology to complete my life's continually curious, still-active years. 🥰

It sounds like she reinvented her childhood, reclaimed her inner child and her authentic self. Her wish of dying in awe will come true, because the way in which we live is the same as when we die. As a bedside companion for Hospice, I learned that these kind of people just surrender to death and die in a very dignified way, as if knowing they manifested all the love and light, while on earth! I watch this having just lost my mum at 89 so in her 90th year. They look very similar, quite simply beautiful . My mum had dementia which meant she very happily lived in the present moment. She lived with me for her last 6 years and she taught me to slow down. To watch the birds, to notice the trees or the flowers. She was grateful for every day. We can learn so much from the elderly. And it hurts when they leave.
This was so beautiful. I cried throughout it, recognizing a kindred spirit. I am 80 and still seek the wonder in everything around me. I expect to live to over 100, and this woman is a shining light to me. I also let my age show without trying to change how I look. There is such beauty in age when a person has that love and light within.
She gave me chills. I'm totally in awe of her! You guys are such incredible film makers. They way you capture the essence and environment of a person, the light. And I loved the right up close on her face. Thank you so much
I work with elders who have dementia and Alzheimer's. I treasure every moment with them. Their precious memories that remain are so amazing and i am privileged to learn about their lives, desires, hopes and fears. ❤
I teach Chair Yoga to those with Alzheimer’s (early stages but honestly some are pretty progressed). We make sure to have laughs every session no matter what. I appreciate every moment with them!

My mom lived to almost 103. One of 13 Italian children. She ate right and kept positive. She had her marbles and her humor at the end. I miss her so much. I will see her again in the new world.

Watching this as I hold my 7 week old baby as she naps on my chest. Looking at her tiny features it’s incredible to think of the changes she will go to through in this life and, with any luck, make it to the age of this wise woman. We’re all so lucky to be here ❤️

I turned 81 this year. I recently received word that my college roommate died this year. Seems like just yesterday that we were a couple of 18 year old kids starting out in life. A life is such a blink of an eye. Looking back on my long life I would suggest two worthy goals to strive for in a well-lived life. One is to be a good listener. And two is to be a good "noticer". When I wake up each morning, I say to myself "Yay! I still exist. I get another day of conscious awareness. I get another day of hundreds of thoughts to enjoy" Death doesn't scare me because when my brain dies, I won't know I'm dead, just like all the billions of years before I was born..

One day my adult daughter and I were talking about aging and I said to her ‘I feel like I’m 7’ and then she replied ‘well I feel like I’m 5’. And we have kept it going all these years. She’ll ask me something like - ‘well why did you do that’? And I’ll reply ‘because I’m 7’ and then we laugh. We should all keep that child like wonder through our golden years and beyond.

Did anyone else smile, cry, or laugh when watching this? I felt all that. What a wonderful being who knows what life is about. Key is being grateful. While she informs us to "take it slow," my 96 y.o granny told me to "never stop moving." She had this little picture in her kitchen that said "Don't wait for your ship to sail in, swim out after it." In terms of her advice, I know its truth because when we stop moving either physically or mentally, it is a form of giving up. Our bowels shut down, our muscles atrophy, we are prone to pneumonia, and mental lethargy, and so much more. In some ways this woman reminds me of Granny.

I was, for years, drawn toward the static idea of "spiritual freedom". It was a catch-phrase being tossed around in the 70's & after, & I gravitated toward that 3-D "freedom" idea but never reached it.
The wording "spiritual liberation" is an action term (to me) that my heart had never contemplated but that I had always needed to recognize and to act upon to help me fulfill my purpose in living the slow-life to my current age of 92.
How grateful I am to find it sequestered here in a beautifully simple comment in this awesome realm of beings opening their hearts so comfortably.

It sounds like she reinvented her childhood, reclaimed her inner child and her authentic self.
Her wish of dying in awe will come true, because the way in which we live is the same as when we die. As a bedside companion for Hospice, I learned that these kind of people just surrender to death and die in a very dignified way, as if knowing they manifested all the love and light, while on earth! Thanks for such a beautiful video.

I'm 70 in Nov. And she's amazing
I watch this having just lost my mum at 89 so in her 90th year. They look very similar, quite simply beautiful . My mum had dementia which meant she very happily lived in the present moment. She lived with me for her last 6 years and she taught me to slow down. To watch the birds, to notice the trees or the flowers. She was grateful for every day. We can learn so much from the elderly. And it hurts when they leave.

This was so beautiful. I cried throughout it, recognizing a kindred spirit. I am 80 and still seek the wonder in everything around me. I expect to live to over 100, and this woman is a shining light to me. I also let my age show without trying to change how I look. There is such beauty in age when a person has that love and light within.

I work with elders who have dementia and Alzheimer's. I treasure every moment with them. Their precious memories that remain are so amazing and i am privileged to learn about their lives, desires, hopes and fears. ❤
I teach Chair Yoga to those with Alzheimer’s (early stages but honestly some are pretty progressed). We make sure to have laughs every session no matter what. I appreciate every moment with them!
