MIT is definitely better than IITS. Because it is known for its contributions in research and development where as IIT is known for its selection process and undergraduate placement.
You missed out the most important comparison for which people generally prefer MIT over IIT. That's the comparison of curriculum and it's relevancy in the modern growing world.
@@mayankkr.5 ghanta😂 almost all of my cousins are from IITs, just every IIT other than IIT Bombay (and also other than new IITs) and i can assure you that not the and not even the professors nor the curriculum is up to date. Every student has to learn new age skills on their own to survive. So just you do research bolne se pehele.
MIT can be preferred over any college any time. The thing is its selection criteria is tough and unknown to most of the students. For me personally ( not an emotional reason) as we know there is a lot of stereotypes against Indians in these countries and a FOMO like to stay away from this at least for now.
People be saying "IIT has lower acceptance rate than MIT". It's like racing against 50 Olympic runners to win (MIT) vs racing against people of all age size and group including old, babies, fat and even athletic (IIT). The choice is yours.
Mit is way better than IIT coz its selection process doesn't dates back to pre french revolution era where whether you will get admission or not depends on the family in which you are born
wait when did IIT started accepting students depending on their family background? lol kuch bhi Instead it's harvard where you will get accepted if you are a celeb, at least research well before saying, dumb people
MIT & IIT require the same amount of prep The difference is MIT require you to do the prep in your complete lifetime without ruining your teenage and IIT wants to get that prep from just 2 years
That's absolutely wrong! It's the JEE prep which alters with the personality development of a person. When you are doing JEE prep, you don't hang out with friends, you don't socialize, you are busy all the time, your life is basically enclosed in a small room with large books! But for MiT, you find your passion, a subject which you enjoy and try to be best in that subject! You do extracurriculars which are fun and more relevant for the future, and even if you don't end up to MiT, you end to top 20 research institutions while doing something you enjoy!
@@Arjun-my5zp Yes, although in india its basically a requirement to get into a college, America and all the west is very chill thats why only people with passion to do something go there, in india anyone gives jee exam hoping to get good placement, get that placement and thats it.

Silicon Valley, California is almost 335% more expensive compared to Bangalore and 280% compared to Delhi. So, That 75 lakh is not as great as it seems to be compared to 21 lakh of iit bombay. Also, Today of us 16,17 or 18 and even we pass out from in 2026,27 or 28 and start working in 2030, India gdp would have increased 3 trillion to 8 trillion and salary would have doubled-tripled for white collars that iit offers. India is one of the fastest among major economies in the world and is growing faster 8-9% compared to us 2-4%. Many people say iit ranking are bad but see report many iit score excellent in academic and placement criterion but problem is that they rank low in foreign students and faculty criteria and faculty ratio which lower down IIT from their true ranking. SEE THIS RANKING LIST OF IIT BOMBAY BY QS WHICH RANKED IIT BOMBAY 177- Academic Reputation- 51.3/100 yes, we need improvement to catch up but not bad Employer Reputation- 79.6/100 pretty good. most important for placement Faculty Student Ratio-32.5/100 need lot of improvement😥 Citations per Faculty- 55.5/100 improvement needed International Faculty Ratio- 1.5/100 very bad🤮 International Students Ratio- 1.6/100 very bad🤮 But tell me do you care about last two that much considering jee advance needs proper preparation for several years on one single institution which is not possible for a foreign student to give for a single institute with no guarantee of admission. Also, what about your family and loved ones, just leave them and even if you do plan to bring them to US after getting job, it is not that easy considering IR5 visa is hardest visa to get and even if you make them agree and successfully get the visa, think about it can they adjust in US with culture, lifestyle and language. Also, Getting working visa is another nightmare after studying which is not easy and also how much you cuss your country, there is no place like your home surround by people you know and did mischief with in school and colleges. Also, fees in IIT is still far cheap compared to US even after scholarship due to living expenses. I can give many more reason but sadly I think I have to stop because this comment is getting pretty long.
I used to believe this story until I saw the weightage for each criteria (For the lazy ones foreign students and teachers ratio is each only 5%. QS aren't dumb enough to give such misc. factors equal weightage)

Bhaiya , that's the catch , MIT people don't run after packagers , they have that raw passion for bringing revolution in their fields. But if you look at IIT , the topper of JEE is rewarded crores , but innovation people are given a Bal Puruskar at Max. Yes their projects do get funded but never receive such big monetary prizes. IITs do produce brilliant innovators , but we need to understand that IIT does not polish them , they are gems full of luster before only , it just provides a correct environment and facilities. Whereas MIT has rejected even Olympiad medalists on some occasions. Yes MIT wants academicians too so that they can sustain in the extremally academic intensive environments , and core fields like physics require just that. But in more practical fields , MIT has always valued self initiative and work barring the intentions for college applications more. And believe me I heard this from a Student of IIT BHU , he said I was lost in life and then got into the rat race , but now since I am aware , I am out of it.
I think the kind of exposure MIT gives a student is not comparable to IIT, I think if your goal is (what most Indian parents want) to just get a good job and work 9to5 n settle, IIT is enough n gr8, providing u with wonderful opportunities in that field, but MIT does actually shape you better for other things. Both have prestige, one has prestige globally, other nationally but that shouldn't be a factor. I think people who are well-rounded prefer MIT, n people with the Study n Settle mindset usually prefer IIT, academically i really think they are not really comparable, while IIT is gr8, MIT is just another level. And honestly, student to student there's a divide whether they wanna go to foreign or stay in India, for us Indian students that itself is a determining factor enough (even though It's wierd n stupid to take such decisions because of a personal preference)

In addition, I want to pursue research in Quantum Mechanics and Cosmology which is not really possible in India. Both MIT and IIT has its different set of advantages and requirements. IF someone chooses IIT , he or she has the advantage of picking up on campus placements but the thing is the competition to get that desired placement increases abruptly , where as on the other other if someone chooses MIT, he has an advantage of a better system and atmosphere of education and to gain expertise on his desired field plus there is not as such cut-throat competition as compared to IITs but he or she has to word hard for off campus placements. If I may speak on what I would choose as a student confused about getting into an IIT or MIT , I would definitely choose MIT . Reason being there is low competition .
IIT support Hard working minds with a lot of theoretical information.Whereas MIT supports Innovative minds with determination and praticalness. Both are good but MIT focuses on overall student but also IIT makes a student hard working which also good
Difference is, people go to IIT for getting high package, for money, and people in mit go for true passion of the subject, yes, money is a factor, but mostly they go to mit because they have actual interest in thier subject and learning, that is why I will never prepare for mit, because doesn't matter how much I fake,I'll never be able to have true passion for any subject,I am just preparing for jee because I want a engineering degree so that it can help me in defence exams
IITs gets the best student from India, which makes its peer group really good. Thats the only thing which makes IITs different from other colleges in India. Thing is, students (including me) put so much hardwork to go into IITs that it's hard for them to accept this. MIT is obviously better but mostly inaccessible to any normal Indian, despite how smart he/she is. Mit is obviously better in terms of research and other components, just see number of noble prices for instant or number or research paper. IITs just helps to gather best brains of the country (more intellectual than MIT) but just shits when it comes to curriculum and research opportunities and there is reservation too.
Top colleges in the west are at the top is because they pick children based on how much of a human they are MIT looks for leaders, they domt have the word's toughest exam but the criteria they have assures children are fit as well as smart. They need a very good GPA in their SAT exams which is comparitvely a little bit easier than jee mains but to cover that up they see whether the student has any extra hobbies, do they have any leadership skills, have they ever spoken out, have they ever learned a different language? These factors play a role and its weird when people say "iit nahi hoga to MIT ho jayga" which is very much not true, iit nahi hua toh mit bhi nahi hoga most of the time. iit also gives leaders but they dont expect already matured students, iit expects children to compete in the word's toughest exam in order to enter students, some of them become leaders some dont. Current ceo of google is from iit but the previous ceo and owners are from ivy league colleges, so is facebook's mark and so on.
although I think these two universities can't be compared . Sundar pichai got his higher education for a foreign collage . Indian novel prize winners after 2000 all have completed the higher education from outside India.
Getting into IIT can feel very good , as it's one of the toughest exam in the WORLD, and also it's in India,so IIT would be very comfortable for us Indians. And fees is also very high in MIT !
MIT is not particularly oriented towards campus placements. You will see people going for higher education at MIT are more than people sitting for placements. That alone suffices why less companies comes for placements at MIT. MIT is where people continue following their dreams which they had in childhood rather than giving it up, like in India where there is a mad rush for jobs in IT sector, even if they don't want to.

You can apply for it even now, if you are really passionate about any particular subject. Because Olympiad is not any mandatory condition for it I will suggest you to search about 'Ayush Sharma' he got accepted to MIT with near 1.3 crore scholarship without any Olympiad.☺️
It's not matter alot there is no specific criteria for mit.... If you have interest in perticular subject and you do well in sat means 1600/ 1590+ then also you have high chances to go at mit or you are transfer student and if you publish any research papers then it's help to gain you very much attention.... Bcz research papers consider more than Olympiad medal... And that resume matters....

One thing to clear IIT from the beginning prepares a student to fight hardest challenges in his or her life the entrance is itself very much difficult and life inside iits is very much pressurable.( Curriculum which faces backlash). MIT over IIT anyday. College placement can never be the criteria to judge a college. MIT focuses on holistic development and mental growth and is known for its research and invention culture. What I believe IIT : Takes in insanely smart kids and turns them into experts in technical field MIT: Takes in above average kids and gives them funds and opportunity to do something. What we overlook is that the budget sanctioned ( For research projects) to MIT or any other western private ( and some public ) universities generally exceed the overall budget of any IIT. MIT has been in existence for over a century and IIT KGP will be celebrating its 71st anniversary, MIT is more mature than IIT Getting into MIT and getting a scholarship are two different things. Mostly the International students in MIT are Olympiad medalists, if you look in carefully each subject Olympiad team has a max of 6 students , that makes it around 30 students from India who may qualify for MIT ( no guarantees though) And lastly what do you mean by a contribution to the community? Most of the IITians (and now this is even happening in foreign unis ) end up taking management posts in fintechs or other firms. With this perspective, I would rather say that the IITians who end up becoming civil servants contribute more to the community than the rest

I can say when I was studying in iit kgp , in 2008-12 . I followed MIT OCW lecture notes and materials. MIT curriculum is 5 or 6 years ahead of IIT, and most of the courses are not actually relevant ,just because of professors' jobs. Apart from that indian graduates get good jobs or appraisal for behavior and sincerity rather than skill. So MIT is better for people ho are not under monetary pressure , enjoy the life of USA and feel great. When I did my master's in the UK, I realized we indians are lacking student life plus fun and real friendship. IIT is now a days full of fake bookworms, as someone can develop skills at home. Friends circle is quite toxic in IIT ,full of pretenders of corrupted government employees child. IIT - Gives Opportunity to all social classes.
MIT & IIT require the same amount of prep
The difference is MIT require you to do the prep in your complete lifetime without ruining your teenage and IIT wants to get that prep from just 2 years
That's absolutely wrong!

SEE THIS RANKING LIST OF IIT BOMBAY BY QS WHICH RANKED IIT BOMBAY 177-
Academic Reputation- 51.3/100 yes, we need improvement to catch up but not bad
Employer Reputation- 79.6/100 pretty good. most important for placement
Faculty Student Ratio-32.5/100 need lot of improvement😥
Citations per Faculty- 55.5/100 improvement needed
International Faculty Ratio- 1.5/100 very bad🤮
International Students Ratio- 1.6/100 very bad🤮
But tell me do you care about last two that much considering jee advance needs proper preparation for several years on one single institution which is not possible for a foreign student to give for a single institute with no guarantee of admission.

Average teenager in India prepare for IIT, just to make his/her life better in Terms of Financial wealth.

MIT over IIT anyday. College placement can never be the criteria to judge a college. MIT focuses on holistic development and mental growth and is known for its research and invention culture. I don't care what Walter Lewins says about affirmative actions (reservation) because he has no understanding of the indian society and the caste system. The concept of merit is not as streamlined and simple as you think it is.

There is no fixed criteria to take admissions In mit which opens too many loop holes in these systems which allows rich and power persons to give full admission control(corruption).I will noticed that there are too many students in mit are the relative of some of the most powerful and rich personalities in the world. Here in mit peoples have practical knowledge about their stream but their knowledge about basic science is not so great (like most of them can't solve a moderate problems in fluid based on concept) and you will glad to listen that my mit friends are not that much smarter than the iit ones because they are the selected from 10 lac students .
So the reality is that mit choose students on the basis of students passion and knowledge in a particular field while iit choose students on the basis of intelligence and hardwork of a students.
How easy it would be for you to clear iit
10th grade
Ntse scholar easy
>9 moderate
>7 hard
>5 difficult but not impossible
those prodigy students in your school that ace every olympiad and are toppers always r the ones made for MIT. they actually want to learn instead of just rot learning for academic validation from the society.
I will go with IIT Delhi because my goal is to become an Entrepreneur and IIT Delhi is a king of startups.

MIT >>>> IIT ❤,but IIT Madras is better than all iit
even selection ratio is very good in mit, do not become fools like other people, in mit there are many eligibility criteria unlike iit that only considered jee, in iit 10lakhs student appear in which 7 lakh are not even serious they just give jee because eligibility criteria is very easy as you just have to fill the form, whereas in mit only serious student appear for it as there are many criteria need to fullfilled so if we considered selection ratio then around 3 lakh student sits in jee and it takes around 25000 student, many thinks that it is 10000 but no ,10000 seats is for general category student and not for all students and 300000 students are from every category, so if you do maths iit selection ratio comes around 8% which is similar to mit which is 6-7%
I think I should go to MIT because I think mit provides us research facilities and I am interested in research and all that and interested in any 9 to 5 job

U NEED A VERY GOOD PROFILE FOR GETTING IN MIT AS UNDERGRADUATE AND IN IVY LEAGUE COLLEGES-:
1.SAT scores above 1550 or 1500+
2.Good ACT scores
3.IELTS for English but again all these things have very low weightage
4.Olympiads play important role(ICho, type of things)
5.Also ur project's in Highschool and ur active participation in extra curricular activities also plays imp role
6.Only 5-6 students get selected from INDIA each year
7.If ur under single digit rank holder in exams like JEE ADV OR KVPY etc. then ur chances are strongs but still not sure.
8.Ur Essays in Application forms are also very imp, i would say one of most imp thing is essays that aren't copied.
9.If u can manage all that, then u might get chance, but now comes VISA APPROVALS, which again is a big problem
10.If i assume you done all that then also u have to pay some living costs (which is also high for most of us)

What I believe
IIT : Takes in insanely smart kids and turns them into experts in technical field
MIT: Takes in above average kids and gives them funds and opportunity to do something.
What we overlook is that the budget sanctioned ( For research projects) to MIT or any other western private ( and some public ) universities generally exceed the overall budget of any IIT.
MIT has been in existence for over a century and IIT KGP will be celebrating its 71st anniversary, MIT is more mature than IIT
Getting into MIT and getting a scholarship are two different things. Mostly the International students in MIT are Olympiad medalists, if you look in carefully each subject Olympiad team has a max of 6 students , that makes it around 30 students from India who may qualify for MIT ( no guarantees though)
And lastly what do you mean by a contribution to the community? Most of the IITians (and now this is even happening in foreign unis ) end up taking management posts in fintechs or other firms. With this perspective, I would rather say that the IITians who end up becoming civil servants contribute more to the community than the rest
I can't live in foreign countries where there is no culture, no respect... Emotion is more than money for me....
MIT is better than IIT to MIT entrance exam is much much harder than jee advanced
Its fees much much higher than IITs
MIT wants ultra brilliant pro max bnde IIT wants just think out of box bnde.
Bhaiya mere ko research ke field me jana...so yah MIT but waha ki fees itni jada hai aur maine koi olympiad v crack nhi kiya hai
Bro har ek Banda Olympiad crack nhi karta, and agar research karna h to sirf mit hi nhi h,baaki saare foreign universities me jaao,wo lakh Guna accha h iit se
The only reason of the CEO is indian kyun ki
"INDIAN CHOR NAHI HAI"
Baki Americans don't work hard they prefer to enjoy life, and they are very rich by doing anything, which is not possible in india.
Bro why are you even comparing IITs with MIT? Isn't MIT supposed to be the best Technical university in the world?
An institute that performs better than Stanford and Harvard in field of engineering shouldn't be compared to a national college of an Asian country. We're proud of our IITs. But even thinking about comparing it with MIT makes no sense
comparing IIT with MIT is like Comparing People with Well Filled Muggedup Mind with Well Developed Formed Mind.
I think MIT and IIT both are equivalent engineering institutions and I belive in gaining knowledge rather than comparing colleges I'm here to learn and to achieve my goal either with IIT or with MIT .
Then, Only Internet Accessibility should be enough for you.

MIT is the number one university in the world. MIT alumni has more than 100 Nobel laureates associated with it. Comparing it with IIT which is a group of institute which mainly focuses on Engineering is stupid. MIT researchers made the GPS, 3d printers. Do you know ethernet was made by an MIT alumni. And many other internet protocols were made by MIT. MIT was heavily involved during early development of Internet. We are here watching this video using Internet is just because of them. Co founder of HP did his engineering from MIT. The number of contributions MIT has given to world is priceless. Students of MIT doesn't prepare crazily, paying thousands of rupees on coaching or tution and all shit to get accepted. IIT accepts the most competitive student vs MIT accepts the most genius students. Student joins IIT to get a proper 9-5 high salary job and shit. And an MIT student just wanna learn and study as much as he could. There is a reason IIT is mainly popular for only undergrad and not as much as post grad.
