  • Living with a vfr800fi. I recently bought a vfr800 because I think it will work well with my Royal Enfield Himalayan.
    It's great to have 2 completely different motorcycles, but not everything is rosey

    Trying a bike for a while lets you start to hone in on your preferred style. I've been taking my VFR down a lot of country roads and back lanes recently and it does start to give my bike a bit of a pounding after a while but after relaxing on some single tracks opening it up on some faster twisties is a joy.
    I am looking at a Himalayan more and more for some lanes/light off road action and see if I like it.

      @SloboloboVFR I took the vfr up a steep & narrow road but cut that footage out. It was a breeze. The vfr is capable of more than I thought.

    Owned a vfr800fi for 21 yrs. remember how old this bike is. I couldn’t stand lack of performance on RE but now as an old codger like comfort , enough performance and enjoyment. Try a vstrom650 mix of your 2 bikes. I dont have a direct comparison but reckon my v strom is as quick bar tenths of a second up to 60 even 80. And torque and mid range without gear changes and general rideability v strom knocks spots off vfr. Don’t need to be in right gear just open the throttle and the vstrom goes. Vfr likes revving and flat below 6k rpm

    • @EpicAdamMotovlogs

      The vstrom is very tempting. I enjoy the himalayan. Its great for chilled rides. The vfr has made me appreciate it more.

    It becomes a bit tiresome you continually comparing a bike as great as the VFR800 with your RE Himalayan the whole time. They're just not comparable. One's a donkey the other a race horse quite literally derived from Honda's racing RC45 race bikes. You seem to be riding your VFR just like you would ride your Himalayan. Slow. In the few videos you have made of your VFR I don't think the rev counter has gone above 3k revs. These engines sing when you get them up around 9-10k revs. The induction noise is intoxicating. I don't think you are doing your VFR justice. Perhaps doing an instructor lead track day would help you get the best our of your VFR and make you a better rider as well? Just a suggestion.

    • @EpicAdamMotovlogs
      @EpicAdamMotovlogs  5 месяцев назад +1

      I have ridden the vfr fast. I just don't put the evidence on RUclips 😆. I can get still get prosecuted & the audio is terrible above 50mph.

      @@EpicAdamMotovlogs Other vloggers seem to be able to show more spirited riding just fine without difficulties or getting into trouble. I'm not suggesting riding like a loon merely getting a wriggle on. Sorry, but the VFR is way more capable than you are showing. Please stop comparing it to a Himalayan. It's demeaning to it. Any larger engine bike is frankly more capable than a RE Himalayan. The VFR800 is in a completely different league. The Himalayan could be a bike straight out of the 1930s/40s. The VFR in contrast is a product of Honda's successful racing RC45 engine. They are worlds apart.
