- Short Universal Cold air Kit Review
- Installation of the Kit (11 steps)
/#1 rubber adapter install /#2 tight adapter clamp /#3 fitment check /#4 measure and guideline /#5 cut the charge pipe /#6 block the charge pipe extra hole or plug the correspondent sensor /#7 check fitment again /#8 install the secondary adapter clamp /#9 install pod filter clamp and support bracket /#10 bolt in the support bracket /#11 tight pod filter clamp

cool, but without the heat shield, i think this might be worse than OEM box in trafic and low speeds. you should really make a heat shield as well.
Hi, thanks for the comment. I see your point and I agree with it, but I never said that there is performance gains, better sound - yes, cleaner engine bay - yes. This is a budget universal cold air intake kit. Sure you can buy high end expensive kit with heat shield that is made for BMW e36 and possibly can increase performance by a little.
@@RaceStyle i'm not suggesting *buying* a heat shield (i know they are expensive), but making one. it's really cheap (so still a budget thing) if u make it yourself, there are even some tutorials on YT on how to make it. Not hard at all.
Good point.
Maybe your next video?😊
i think this video was pretty well done. i think people watching dont always realize the time and detail that goes into outlining, recording, and editing even a relatively easy job. A couple thoughts for making this job easier for others… 1) soak the adapter in hot water before putting it on, 2) spritz the maf mating surface with a little window cleaner for lube, 3) put the maf/adapter clamp on afterward like you did with the adapter/pipe clamp, 4) cut the pipe on the hole so there is no hole to plug. keep up the good work!
Me trying to listen to the sounds of the new intake threw the music lol
Hey mine has a pipe connected to that filter box..how do I by pass it cause it looks like there is a certain role it plays
Fucking hell the best video man! I’ve search for hours just to try and install such a pipe dude and I also has no clue what the hell that blue hose is used for, thank you for the video!!!
Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Make more videos on the E36
What size is the rubber coupling
Nice video :) Keep it up!
Hi! I have the same stuff like yours, you think i can do that n a 2007 525i series 5 please reply back
Yes
Congratulations! You just turned your cold air intake into a hot air intake. -5HP.
What engine do you have
my maf plug is missing??
I seen this for 41$ on eBay I was thinking about doing this to my2007 328xi coupe!
Did everything come together the filter n the pipes?
Yes
Can it be installed in a bmw 3 series 320i?
Hi, and thanks for your comment! If you are asking about e36 BMW 320i - yes you can follow exactly the same procedure like the one I'm showing in the video, but if you have 4 cylinder engine you are going yo need square to round adapter.
Can i just remove filter? Pls answer
Hello and thanks for your comment! Yes you can, BUT you are risking some stuff like sand, leaf, water etc. enter your intake manifold and this may cause some severe damage to your engine... some people are putting just fine net on their turbos which protects from big debris but it wont stop dust and sand.... So I wouldn't advice you doing this...
Will this work on 1998 318i?
Hi Joshua, for installation of pod filter on your 318i (M43B18 Engine) I woud say that you're going to need an extra square to round inlet adapter because your MAF sensor is with square shape on the filter box side.
Nice hot air intake LOL bet you lost a good 5 to 10 HP on that one! Got to do your homework guys that little pocket you have your cone filter sitting in gets extremely warm.... Last I checked it wasn't a warm air intake that boosted performance
Lol don't think you need that first clamp
You don’t really need the pipe at all do you ?
yes, but not much of one, and it doesn’t need to be very long… the maf and air filter are different sizes, requiring an adapter. aboth the filter and the adapter are soft rubber/plastic. so they need a rigid pipe to tighten the clamps against. I’d probably have cut the pipe on the hole to avoid the need to plug it.
👏👏👏
Maybe you work in the Philippines before a bit dodgy and a straight flow air filter is not so good you need a conical filter like the Apexi spend 150 not 15 bucks
Underneath that MAF sensor. What's that thing called? I just found out my 2 hose on top was torn
Icv hose? There pretty finniky to replace but theyre very prone to cracking and cause terrible vac leak so go ahead and replace it for $20 if you have small hands haha.
That will not help if you dont have the box for the air intake u removed it so wen the car heats up its going to send hot air to the engine
Hi is your car have vanos?
no
Hello Dariusz, thanks for your comment!
The engine of my e36 is without VANOS because it's M50 variant
Race Style you seem like a guy thats knows bmw i bought a e46 325 i and its smoking blue from tail pipe not on idle but when pulling off of traffic lights or rev high at a stand still
Worse is when pulling off from 1 st gear thanks mate
@@dariuszglowacki9466 blue smoke often means that your car burns oil, not a good sign, you may want to visit a local garage
Hello again Dariusz, just for the record - I'm not professional mechanic by any means, but from my general knowledge in combustion engines, I would say that your engine is burning oil. There is few reasons that can cause your engine to slip oil in to the combustion chamber and they are: worn valve seals, worn piston rings and or blown head gasket. I can't tell you for sure since further investigation should be done, for starters you can visit a garage and ask them to measure the compression ratio of all of your 6 cylinders. I would suggest you to address this probblem as soon as possible since insufficient oil level may and will cause permament damage to your engine internals, but If you have to drive your car just make sure you check your oil level daily and top up if nessesary.
Why can’t you just forget the pipe and put the filter directly at the flow denser I mean why didn’t you do it that why is it ghat it’s not correct or there is a certain role being played
Stay away from cars
Thanks for the video but did you really have too show us how to open a box for 4 minutes lol
Thanks for the comment! Note taken :)
Ton filtre se prend toute la chaleur du moteur
Why not tell us what we all want to know. Did it increase the power at all? or at least did it even feel like it increased the power? does it sound better? think about it, we all want to know these normal things before we spend time and effort.
This is a hot air intake
Just because nobody seems to notice or care, I need to point out the opening music is also used in the bad copypasta rap from senzawa...
That’s a Hot air intake…
This is a hot air intake lmao. Please get a heat shield, i know you dont promise power gains but this is even worse for your engine if its sucking hot air from the engine bay
Thats not cold air intake, it’s hot air intake. This one makes less power than stock filter!
