Definitely a beautiful intake. Make some adjustments and find a way to snug it up towards the front so it grabs no surrounding engine air and instead from behind the headlight as close as possible. You and your car will love it. And as always ENJOY that E36!!!!

Simota company is not far from my home. They sell bmw e36 carbon air intake for 320-340 us dollars in Taiwan. How much did you spend for the cold air intake?
Do you know if it is compatible with e46 330i? do you have something else besides air intake? What engine do you have? It sounds very nice .. if only with exchanging oem for simota, it sounds like this .. I want one !!!!
Has anyone pointed out that you are supposed to have a cone filter in there?? That's what the additional tubing that "didn't fit" is for! You are ingesting dust and dirt directly into your engine! Your MAF will clog quickly and you will be losing compression in no time as your cylinders grind bigger and bigger! Cool intake and definitely sucks cold air from where you pulled out that duct... But also sucks loads of road dirt, dust, and debris!

@@TJS36 I build one myself using a Simota universal box, converting it to 80mm and adding hoses & clamps. And a respray of the ugly metal color parts. www.energyflash.nl/rsz_img_20200517_114903.jpg
I got a new kit for an E34 325i on sale for around 100 Euros, fitted it to my 323Ci (E46 with M52TU), just had to shorten one of the silicon hoses around 30mm :)
I have seen faulty Simota on youtube without a person even knowing. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR FILTER WITH A LIGHT BULB! Go outside with a strong flashlight and watch from the inside if the light passes through the seal. Unfortunately you will have to buy $80+ K&N, there is no way around it. This will damage your engine, they don't watch their quality well enough. I also lost my $15 on a knockoff filter. If I bought K&N right away, I wouldn't lose my $15.
There’s is no way that car has better trottle response. Car takes now hot air from engine bay, what leads to less torque and less HP. Sounds makes you believe reverse.Overtime leads to broken air mass sensor. Nice car btw. Have the same one but completely original.
Dajdza Warrior I didn’t expect any change in HP, I did it mostly for sounds purposes. I would probably go for an M50 intake if I want more power but that’s something for in the future. How do you like the E36?
Your face says it all 😂 about to purchase an e36 project and hope to have the same excitement as you. Keep it up!
Man, I can’t recommend an E36 project car enough. This car teached me how to work on cars and gave me so much enjoyment while doing it.
@@TJS36 looking forward to it and subbed cause it looks like you're doing a lot of the work that I plan to carry out 👍

shortroundChris Hahaha I can imagine😂 I was also very surprised by how much intake noice it makes!
Where did you mount the microphone for the video? Did you put the mic in the engine bay? 🎤
Where was the mic when you recorded the video?
Nice car and great sound. Do you have a link for the Intake?
Faris Gültekin Gülveren I got mine second hand, I know they have them at Schmiedmann. I could look up a link if you want.

That's great, I really like mine! I got mine second hand, I think it was around 150
Which Simota intake kit did you fit ?
can you please put the link where buy it
hey! amazing sound! is that the 2.0 or bigger engine?
2.8

It's OEM engine with Simota intake, I think you have these for E46 330i aswell.
Does it improve performance
I haven't dynoed the car before and after so I can't confirm. It does make a pretty awesome sound tho
Yes it does improve performance ....... both horsepower and torque. That is why it is called Simota Sport Air Intake.
is this kit still available ?
more sound yes.less power without proper ducting.bimota sucks a lot of hot air.
Yeah, got a tube of fresh air from the bumper running in it now

There is actually a cone filter in there, you don't actually see if because of the big carbon box

Tjeu Vergouwen I like e36. Drives smoothly. Nice sound and not hard to maintain. I like e36 more then my e70.
Tjeu Vergouwen do you have LSD installed?
Dajdza Warrior It’s definitely an easy car to maintain, don’t have an LSD yet but it’s definitely on my list.
Tjeu Vergouwen IMO best mod for e36.
