Lyrics:
When the storms of winter come
Starless nights will come again.
When the waining sun is gone
We will walk in bitter lands
But in dreams.
The composer of the original, amazing Lord of the Rings soundtrack is Howard Shore. I arranged this medley based off his main themes.
I had an opportunity to go to New Zealand so we filmed this while we were there. Kim Dotcom funded this whole trip and he not only provided our travel but he treated us so kindly and he gave us full access to a helicopter. I don't care what the media says about him, I consider him a friend. - Видеоклипы
"The Lord of the Strings: The Celloship of the String"
"The Lord of the Strings: The Two Tempos"
"The Lord of the Strings: The Return of the Key"
"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Jig"
"The Hobbit: The Decrescendo of Smaug"
"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Altos"
+Nicholas Peterman THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. XD
YES
+Nicholas Peterman Wow....
That wordplay tho👌
the Stringmarillion anyone?
The Lord of the Rings...There is seriously nothing that can describe how much it means to me! I'm only 13, but still...That triology is my life. I stopped counting how often I've watched those movies, and anyways how often I've cried! I still cry, because I know that somewhere out there, middle earth exists, even if I can't just leave and live there...
J.R.R Tolkien is a legend. He gave so many people on this earth, a beautiful childhood/teenhood, with his books! And also Peter Jackson, with his movies made from the books, are also just incredible. So sad, that so many people "forgot" about it, or don't even know it! Middle earth will always be in our hearts. Sad, that the journey is over...
Edit: Heyho, me here, couple years later. I'm 17 now and my view still has not changed at all. The Lord of The Rings is still a triology (books or movies) that is stuck with me. It'll stick with me forever and it's helped me through a LOT throughout these couple years! Thank you for all your lovely replies, I'm glad to know youngsters like me aren't alone with this and that there's people who support our love for this. And you're right, as long as our emotion and passion for it isn't over, the journey isn't over either. About 2 years back I had the pleasure of visiting Oxford for a day, and to say it was absolutely stunning to know that I was standing in front of the very building that J.R.R. Tolkien studied at. I've bought myself a second copy of all the books. Was a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it.

Same here
Also the Elder Scrolls are just awesome
"in fact.... Lord of The Rings trilogy is my number 1 motion picture of all times!!!
1. Lord of The Rings (The Fellowship of The Ring | The Two Towers | The Return of the King)
2. Game of Thrones
3. The Ten Commandments and Ben-Hur (starred by Charlton Heston)
4. Jurassic Park movies
5. Pirates of the Carribean movies
Until you read written trilogy from Mr Tolkien you can´t get Lord of the rings
For far too long i was also stuck in middle earth... i dnt knw hw manh times i watched the movies, i even byhearted most dialogues.... Lotr is always the best.
Then i dwelled some years in the seven kingdoms, then MCU, Hawkins, the list will grew but in the end i ll ens up in Hobbiton
My wife and I got married in august 2018, and we used this medley to play over the intercom system in the church when we were walking out after having given our I do's.
Because of that, this one will always be special to me. Especially because my wife can occationally be emotional, not overly, but she's easier to tears than me atleast. But on our wedding day she was so impressive, she really was pretty calm and collected (as much as you can expect on a wedding day)
and this also was a trend leading up to the wedding, it was slightly outside of what I had expected, but really impressive. But the day before the wedding, we had to do a sound check with this song in the church, and when I put it on, and you could hear this beautiful medley play throughout the entire church, let's just say it did not take my wife many seconds to break out of her calm and starte weeping, because it was truely beautiful.
Thank you for making our special day even more special lindsey!
Imagine: 3000 years later, when the age of men comes crushing down, and some survivors gather and rise again. Then they discover LoTR from the ruins of an ancient library (prolly built like medieval times anyway), and they try to search for the White City, Elves, and Mount Doom everywhere. Sounds familiar?
That's beautiful. ^^ 💖✨
A post apocalyptic world where ruins of cities remain of as an old civilization from the past.
A few Humans remaining in the world finding fantasy books and try finding their own adventures... sounds like a great story.
I wonder if they would eventually figure out how to interpret digital data on old hard drives and stuff.
@@Igrium Sadly probably not. There aren't enough accessible fossil fuels left for a second industrial revolution, so the most technologically advanced humanity could get would probably be ~1600AD/CE or so.
@@spencerbrown2583 Who says you need fossil fuels for industry? Right now, our cooperate overlords don't want to invest in switching their existing infrastructure to renewables, but there's no reason that a civilization built from the ground-up solely on renewables. (plus, 1600AD was 400 years ago)

It's a Lord of the Rings reference... Have you watched the movies? Boromir says, "One does not simply walk into Mordor" and countless memes and references have been made after that quote
Oviya D. Yes i have watched the movies and me and my brother were waiting and waiting for that part then it finally came :)
Now I want to marathon Lord of the Rings. It's 1 am. Thank you spring break.
I have already done that a few times already with the extended editions.
What wrong? It's that good ^_^
I've gone through all the hobbits and the 1st LOTR so far haha
bob jefferson I think I could not stand all 3 Hobbit movies in a row...But LotR is always nice as a marathon
Juliet Carter Well, it's time for LOTR now :)
My dad died two years ago but he was the biggest fan of lotr- Wish i could show him this

I'm very sorry for your loss. And, he hears it. He hears it wherever place he may be. And, he is always with you. May I wish the best to you and your family.
Spooky Boris That was so kind of you ❤️❤️❤️
LOTR brings love
Me and me wife used concerning hobbits for our processional song in our wedding and your rendition of it for her walk down the aisle. Made some of the best memories of our lives

The Nostalgia every time I listen to LOTR...
@Marylou Lefebvre nostalgia is a sentimentality for the past, for example when you listen to a music then you remember a memory of you
YES
Yes definitely
The Last Goodbye and the Shire Theme make me want to cry
Same I remember being young watching the first movie in the theaters and I remember seeing Frodo sitting on a tree that was my memory lol
It makes me miss my home in Indonesia. When i was child i always watched LOTR and pretended i'm part of fellowship, and i'm an elf! My house surrounded by beautiful hills, and from the top of it i could see the shady-sea, ships, and sunset. If i turn around, on other side of the hills there are lake, green hills, and farms. Sometime i and my friend go to there just to sit and see sunset, and we often met a shepherd with her sheeps.
When I was young , I went to this retreat called ‘Storybook Lodge’ and this place had a forest so when I was young I used to pretend I was a Hobbit on a quest
Im indonesian too '-'
Well you were Merry and Pippin I guess
😂👍
You must be very lucky you have your house lied in rural area. I'm Indonesian too but I'm currently living in a crowded area of a city. Will be delighted when one day I will spend the rest of my life in a place where there are fewer people and more trees.
I'm learning violin right now mainly so that I can one day play this song. Not even close yet, but someday... _someday_... Man, I love the LotR trilogy.
HipsterSheep You could probably learn to play a basic version of this song in around a year with consistent practice once a week.
Kailee Walden I hope
HipsterSheep I have second-hand experience with violin. I can tell you that the Lord of the Rings Medley is easier to play than a lot of Lindsey's original songs.
Kailee Walden Oh ok, that's good.
BRUH SAME!! best movies ever made
I couldn't enter Sauron's lair, there was always one Mordor to go through.
Haha.😂
That got me! 😂✨
I had to reread this a few times, 😂 LOL
8 years later, still listening, still loving
How is that impressive
We are still reading the books 66 years after they were published
And watching the first movie 19 years after its release
20 years now.. still love it
Skoro to vypadá jako video ze svatby. Jak na konci běží a usmívá se na kohosi za sebou.
💖
@@kattastadir-sydri "How is that impressive" - It's impressive because she's an incredibly talented musician, and she's actually _using_ her talent. And not only is she playing the music, but she arranged it, and she writes many of her own songs. Just think about it for a minute... For every one violinist who becomes famous, how many do you think there are who simply give up? A thousand? Ten thousand? More?
Lindsey, can you make a medley about chronicles of Narnia please??????
cony salvo herrera I love it. Really want it too
cony salvo herrera yes please

Yes please!
narnia! no way yes!
5 seconds, and I cried. I love L.O.T.R and Hobbit and this is so beautiful ♡
I agree. But maybe he meant the book.
Gave me chills all over my body from the start! I love Lord of the rings, and this made me so happy and nostalgic
cgi bullcrap......... really? like LOTR didn't have any...... lol.
connor green fair enough but I still don't see the problem.
like!
I personally love The Lord of the Rings, and they nailed this soundtrack, so if it's Lindsey is playing it, then you can only expect an enchanting performance
This isn't just the "The Lord of the Rings" Title Theme, this is pure freedom and magic!
Almost made me want to go to sleep because of your sweet and soothing violin playing.
Yeah same, to bad the add woke me from my calm drowsiness :C

Detective Sir Lock Bones I'm a big fan of the original sound track and I just LOVE this version.
Detective Sir Lock Bones I'm a big fan of the original soundtrack and this video annoys me because it's not even close to as beautiful. Didnt dislike the video though.
Less than 1% dislikes is pretty good
yeah, this does not deserve 23 million views. period.
PapaSmurff660 26 million* and that's your opinion
Who dislikes this video people this is the most beautiful masterpiece this world has to offer.
And that voice was from the heavens, a voice of an angel.

My exact thoughts on this performance... With Lindsey I feel like I live in a dream, the best dream
Some orcs....
I love Lindsay Stirling, she is fantastic. And of course Lord of the Rings.
I want this to be played at my wedding someday
Middle earth will always be in my heart
+Andrew Kennedy i literally had to try not to cry. the middle earth saga ended, and when i watched the battle of the five armies in the cinema, i cried in front of my dad. all the memories. forever inside my heart.
i just get chills when i'm listining to this! its sooo awesome and i grew up with all things of lotr so i get what you mean.
And did you know that the heart chakra is also called... "Middle Earth?"

This brought tears to my eyes. I don't know what it is about the LOTRs but they make me feel happy watching them. They make me feel like I'm finally home. Thank you for this. Thank you.
You are a gifted child! I also love the country you came from. You make me cry! Sing out to the God who created you!
Who says she doesn't. And maybe she is doing exactly what God wants. Unless you know more or better than God.
No matter how many times i hear this theme, a smile always forms and my heart warms. Everytime. It truly is a love.
Was going to do homework for college but decided to watch Lindsey's videos instead lol. Gotta prioritise the important things \o/
Same priorities prevent me right now from marking my students' tests. XD

Lindsey, you are an absolute rockstar on the violin!!! I've grown up listening to all different kinds of music. When I was little I would listen to older country songs with my dad and one of my absolute favorites was devil went down to Georgia by Charlie Daniels. My grandma and mother also played the violin so I've always loved the way it sounds, even though the few years I was in band class I played percussion, but how you play your own way with your own sound that comes from you is absolutely awe inspiring. You've taken the widely contemporary sound of violin music and taken it by the ankles, turned it upside down, and taken it's lunch money. Keep playing the way you want to play, and continue to carve your name deeper into the memory of music.

You probably hear this all the time, but hearing you inspired me to teach myself the violin. When I get to the level of playing folk tunes for my friends around a campfire, then I will be successful.
Since elementary days up until now that I almost finished my masters I never get tired of watching LOTR. Every song and music brings me back to hobbiton, to bree, to the great plains of Gondor, to Minas Tirith and too many favorite places to mention. You know...😊
The title should have said lord of the strings

I finished reading the books recently
If you don't think music is important you need to know that dwarves convinced Bilbo Baggins to rob a dragon by singing.
I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy and I love watching Ms. Stirling perform their music. She did a prestine job, like always.
I love how Lindsay plays the violin with her whole body. Just magical.
Wait a minute, she can sing too?!?! Omigosh that bumps up my respect and adoration to a thousand. She's so talented!!!! Please keep doing what ur doing Lindsey because ur such an inspiration and a gifted musician
Yep.
Check out her Santa Baby video.
Querida eyernamente grata, quando a emoção aflora, brotam lávrimas, e as palavras perdem o sentido diante da beleza dos seus acordes.

Georgeous music, surroundings, movements, clear sharp violin...what else could you ask for???!!!
Amazing! You should do the theme for pirates of the Caribbean. I love your music and may be coming to your concert in Calgary in August!!!
I think that's video is called master of tides
+Cc Monhan at least it's got a similar story to it.🙂🐚🎻

Lord of The Rings one of the best trilogies ever in this time.
And Lindsys remake of the Sountrack is amazing,
Love you hope i dont miss the next conzert your plaing in germany.
I totally agree :)
Andrew Thomas Me too :D
I do not know how to express the magnitude of the joy that this video produces on me. It has been 6 years.
I walked down the isle to this... thank you Lindsey, for this beautiful rendition. You’re fantastic! I know I’m nerdy, but this was the perfect wedding song for us...
I didn't think this was that great ... but I've been spoiled by watching so many Julliard violinists, etc. Immense respect, nonetheless. I'm sure she will get better with time.
Lindsey you are the best elf on youtube
abdullah al-hadhrami she is an elf, there is no possible explanation otherwise
:DDDDDD
You should see Aurora, but I agree
Really, this dress fits her incredibly well.
She's not an elf. SHE'S A FREAKING VALIER

Beautiful music; beautiful gift, beautiful soul - thanks for sharing your beauty with the world, Lindsey! May the Lord continue to inspire you and play through your soul!
I agree
Peter Brown I second that. The way she plays the violin is not just a form of music, it's art.
LOL, I hadn't intended to make a pun but I'm enjoying it and laughing as well. Just for clarification (if needed) perhaps I should have said "may God continue..." but if the Lord of the Rings inspires too, that's all good as well!!! :)

This is just so mesmerizing to watch. I love how she really gets into the song. AND HER VOICE IS BEAUTIFUL!!
Listening it after 10 years and it's the best music
I always put this music on when I leave to sea again as a sailor this music is so motivational for those long sea voyages.
Take me with you man, it's my dream to be out at sea
Sometimes I cry during the beginning, because the music sounds so pure. Btw this was the first video of Lindsey I have seen 💜
I feel the same way! It speaks to the heart of all who are longing for a true home. Perhaps even after the journey when we return to the shire once more we may still feel the need for another place to call our home a place beyond the elven kingdoms and the demonic dominions of mordor!Perhaps our journey is simply a story waiting to play itself out! How dose it speak to you?
I know what you mean! By the way I love your profile pic, did you do the art yourself?
:)
This was the first video I saw of her too!!!!
kelsee o'shea, it makes me feel very nostalgic, it reminds me if where I came from which is Ireland even though I don't have an accent or anything.
Man, Lindsey Stirling is the greatest! And what a voice! She's fantastic.
Tabitha Reichl You have to check out her song Firefly. It's not available on iTunes because it's a reward for people who pre-order her album (Brave Enough). I think her music can still be pre-ordered after it's released, but if not, it is available on RUclips too.
Kailee Walden Thanks for the heads up! I'll check it out.
Kailee Walden the hotel
+Kristin F Okay, it's been a little while and I want to say Lindsey also sings some on LindseyTime. She has a video called Rob's Song that's also worth checking out and she did "Jam Sessions" where she would sing sometimes.
Protect this woman at all costs I've been listening to her forever
Just like the movies this is beautiful and timeless.
I wonder if I will ever get tired of listening to Lindsey's music and literally watch every video she appear in... I haven't listened to ANY other artist since I found her 2 months ago.
I really can't see myself getting tired of Lindsey no matter how much i watch her videos :)
so much Beauty and Talent in her videos! i don't see how anyone could get enough of her!
....wow.........words can describe your talent... Only The Lord can....keep a Jamming....amazing..... So young an incredible attribute to the Art's... You play...sing...and dance....all is possible through God The Father....through him we draw our strength....and the beautiful things you do are an attribute to the His Word......God Bless you and keep you safe....
I'm gonna rewatch the films again, everything about this trilogy is beautiful. Thank you Tolkien, for this timeless tale.
This song has been in my RUclips playlist for years, but tonight, I needed it more than ever before. Thank you, Lindsey Stirling, for your beautiful music. Words cannot explain how appreciative I am.
This girl is overflowing with talent! She can play better than anyone else, she can dance amazingly....WHILE PLAYING.....and NOW SHE CAN SING!! And to top it all off, she is totally freakin' gorgeous! It's a shame she only has 4,303,044 subscribers and 557,347,021 views!! She deserves every channel subscribing to her!!
I agree with all except that I'm not sure she is the singer. Her talking voice doesn't match the voice we hear in here. Besides on the assassin creed cover she is lip syncing to the original singing voice.
I prefer to believe she's just that talented.
Thomas Gandon
she sings ocasionally on her tours, the part of the LOTR that she sings also here and also some we found love. Check it out!
Her album jacket notes, that "All violins and vocals performed by Lindsey Stirling."
I got tears in my eyes. The violin reminds me of my grandpa that did build violins. He died in cancer when i was 11. Lindsey is awesome and i adore people that can play the violin. I have tried and i sound awful. :P I have thought for years to get a tattoo on the arm or shoulder blade in the shape of a violin, but I do not know if I dare. Should I do it? If 50 people says that I should do It, I will! :)
you do it girl!
I say go for it. Its something to honor the memory of a close family member you loved as well as something that you really do love. Even if you arent that good at it yet, keep practicing.
Do it.
And also learn the violin. :P
not being commercialised has really suited her. she can do the songs she wants and nerd out with the cosplay whilst having fun instead of being told that song is to niche it wont sell or you need a band or wont sell out arenas.
I knew first Lindsay because my dad played this song on TV. My dad passed away last year, and this song always can remind me of him. Thank you for providing a lot of amazing music!

That first transition ALWAYS gives me chills! For over 10 years of watching this it never fails!

Where does the dislikes come from?
I don't understand!
Sauron...
+LegoAnimations6370 Jealousy of talents that those people can never gain.
+LegoAnimations6370 I honestly don't understand why anyone would dislike a music video period... I listen to music I like and assume that others do the same. Why should anyone go seeking out music the dislike just to dislike it?? It just seems pointless and rude.
Probably comes from those who know that the original is way better
+Math Guy there are exceptions I will admit to having gone to one of justin biebers videos just to dislike it
The child inside me will never let me grow, I'm a father of 2 now, i still watch Lord of the rings and get fascinated by it. It makes me feel I'm 13 again.
I cry every time I watch this because it reminds me of something so beautiful and important to my life. I’ve watched the series my entire life and it has honestly become part of me.

Lord Of The Rings THEN AND NOW They have changed so much 😱😱😱
Words cannot describe how charming you look, Lindsey, or how incredible this video is.
How about a Harry potter medley or twilight medley...
My favorite movie, message and instrumentals.Beautiful singing.
After these years, I still come back to see and hear this lovely video regularly. Lindsey is living proof that there is magic in the daughters of men, to create such beauty and to be beautiful. This video moves me as much as the very finest scenes in the films and books. May you always be blessed!
