- I am having trouble with my Coolster 125 ATV. Please watch the video to help me get this thing running again for my kids.

Usually you have to hold the brake for it to start or it won't start

Today is April 18, 2022...what happened, did you fix it. What was the problem? I have one of those trying to figure out (won't start) I'm thinking there's a problem with the ground. I'll find the problems and will come back to let everybody know what was the problem...

Hey man Im sure the bike is in the shop but I got a list of things im gonna tell you to check... Battery voltage, fuses, check the solenoid fuse and check the grounds on the cheaper ATVs they lay heavy paint over the frame so grounds become an issue another thing is to make sure the ignition has proper connection sometimes the ferals come out so slightly it doesn't make good connection
I fixed it myself, I replaced the starter solenoid and cleaned the carburetor. I have it running very well now. I have posted another video of the fix: ruclips.net/video/FBcbWQcnegU/видео.html
My nephews coolster 125 3125b model just quit on him riding it one day I was asked to take a look at it because I’m somewhat knowledgeable about this kinda stuff but I’m spoofed it will crank and run if you jump the starter solenoid with a wrench or pliers or whatever but will not start with the push button anymore had a second solenoid and swapped it that was good and was checked and it didn’t fix it either I’ve followed 12v all the way from the key and push bottom switch and back down to the the solenoid and get 12 volts on the control side of the solenoid but it won’t crank however I took alligator clips with the brand new solenoid hooked it back up and went positive and negative to the battery and starter turns over I suspect the other solenoid is bad and the push button is bad too!?! Idk need some quality parts now to try out and see most all the grounds check out with a test light and this thing is throwing me through the ringer I’m usually really good at this but it’s spanking me tried disabling the remote kill safety switch and it will not kill the atv so is it possibly something on that part of the circuit idk 🤷🏻♂️ I can read schematics pretty well and even though it doesn’t entirely look correct to the model it’s very close anyone have any ideas I’m chasing my tail now trying to get this running for a few youngsters the front safety brake switch send 12 volts to the solenoid wires and the test light light up when we checked and pushed the start button also so it’s a bit puzzling or am I just retarted we have checked every connection with meters and test lights neutral indicator light comes on and the rear brake light doesn’t work either anyone have any suggestions or ideas!?
You have to depress the foot brake. I found d that out today when I bought my neighbors

I’m having the same issues with mine that I just bought in December. Although I didn’t have mice or anything with mine. I don’t have front lights but it does click when I try and start it. The battery is good and I just replaced the starter. Still no luck

Did you hold the hand break or foot break?
Its your starter solenoid....put a screw driver between the 2 bolts and watch it start
Notice you didn't pull on the brake to start it
Actually, the brake is locked for starting. The brake was NOT the problem.
You have to press the door brake and push the ignition switch

Your key is connected to your killswirch and lights, might guess the connection that joins them on the hot line burnt or came loose

@@grub32 you can make a new killswitch by removing the back saftey teather and adding in a switch, or a switch from the frame then positive to the black and yellow wire coming off the coil that will kill the spark
I have the same four wheeler and I have to hold the brake when I have to start it
Starter relay it’s a lil round box use a rench to jump it

I replaced the same ignition switch last week and I got nothing I got a pair of pliers and jumped it directly from the solenoid and it started right up thats how I I found out the switch was not getting power to the starter I bought mine from Amazon and after comparing the old to new connection part the wires were different and need to be moved around to fit or just cut the wires and put the old connection part on the new switch .

I had one of these given to me a week or so ago. Same issue. Push the button, nothing. I jumped it across the solenoid and the starter turned. Starter is good. I put power to the trigger wires on the solenoid, the starter turned. Solenoid is good. I followed the wiring harness to the first gang connection and jumped the wires there. Starter turned. Relay is good. Follow the harness to the next connection and jumped it there. Starter turned. That section of the harness is good. The next spot is the button. I pierced the wires before the button and the starter turned. The button is bad. The wires from the button to the solenoid are yellow with a red stripe (hot) and green with a white stripe (ground). Another thing to check is the remote kill switch. Yours might be bad. I haven't had it apart so I don't know which wires are what but the remote grounds one of the wires and that kills it. Check and see if you can remove the receiver completely and test a few connections there. Two wires will have to be connected to run and the other two disconnected. Then the opposite combo to keep it from running.
As for the headlight, I don't think it works off battery power. I believe it only works when the engine is running.

When I start it makes a clicking sound over and over. have replaced the starter solenoid three times thinking maybe it was a bad part, then I replaced the starter as well. The battery has over 11v coming out of it to the solenoid and so the starter but when i try to jump it with a screwdriver across the bolts same issue. When we tested the black wire from the starter to the solenoid no volts but when we tested the Red wire we get full power. Any help would be appreciated.
@@shpd2633 11v is pretty low. Have you tried jumping it from another vehicle?

i have a problem with my tao tao 150cc atv, it cracks but no start. it’s getting fuel and it’s getting spark but won’t start at all. can anyone help?
Try cleaning the carb and changing the spark plug

The brake was locked and will start in that position, that was not the issue!
Check the safety switch in the back
You have to hold down the rear brake for it to start.

Outdoor Adventurer you probably already said it in the video but do you have spark? My kids is doing the same thing now but no spark so it might be the little black box( not sure what it’s called) the ignition wires go to.
Cdi box, or possible solenoid?

No, all the fixes that have been recognized have been tried and have not worked! I will be taking it in to the shop for diagnostics. Thank you!

Mine does the same thing!
You have to put your foot on pedal brake for it to beable to turn over
This was not needed prior to my neutral switch going bad. I have also tried this and it does not help. Thanks for your recommendations.
I may know your issue, look on right rear brake and see if you have a safety switch which is tied in with the brake
I have found the issue and fixed it, it was the starter solenoid! Runs great now. I also cleaned the carburetor as well!!
I have a very similar problem with my 125 im probably just gonna abandon it because my dad is giving me a sportsman 500

You have to press the Orange button and pull the Break I have one my self
I appreciate the suggestion, the starter solenoid was bad. I swapped it out and it’s now running great.

Mine was the starter relay try to jump it all of my lights work but it was dead

Roll it down a hill and pop it into drive that how i get mine on
Your kill switch is in the wrong position
Replace battery.

This is not the battery this is the same problem that i have its not the battery

Brake and power start
I am not quite sure what you mean. I am holding the brake in when I hit the ignition switch. I also bought a brand new neutral safety switch. I feel like the part would have come wired correctly.
@@grub32 This is 4 months later so Im hoping you fixed your problem but to power start it would be to push it and pop the clutch if it has one or push it with it being in gear (Drive) which will also turn the motor over. I'm having the same issue with mine. Still trouble shooting. Same here with 12v at the solenoid so Im thinking a disruption in power between the solenoid to starter or power to the start button. Mine does not get lights on at all until its running (push start).
