The Narrowboat to Wigan Pier -Rugby League Vlog -Wigan Warriors v Warrington Wolves

Not quite a George Orwell novel as the title suggests but when you're using a cAnalogy, anything goes. This trip provides a leisurely cruise down the canal on a barge, sorry narrowboat! Mrs Waywell takes the helm just as the passengers demand life jackets, whilst Dennis is busy checking the dimensions of the deck. On to Wigan, with the roller rink out of action it's over to the Museum of Wigan life for a bit of jamming, before setting off for the match. A pie test at the stadium reveals the scandal of outsourced pies but it's not the food that upsets Mrs Waywell as she explodes after the match. Don't worry there's still time for Dennis to experience a Wigan Kebab in the TACKLEBAGS scoring, Enjoy.....

Trencher mill is now a mixed use of offices ( BT-EE-Canal Trust/British Waterways) and appartments. The night club on the pier Was demolished in about 2011 I think. Wire just cant put it together like they did early season.
Ticket price is always an issue with warriors. South stand is cheaper but still £25 for adults or £30 elsewhere in the stadium. It is a pretty basic bowl type multi use ground so is lacking in places.

I like Wigan, it’s much better than I remembered when I was a teenager. Ironically, I think the Warrington performances belong in Trencherfield Mill museum😬, thanks for watching 👍
