k so i know it’s not my usual stuff but the “me eating everything ron eats” vid is up on my channel and it was super fun to make and i’d love it if y’all would check it out!
No one ever talks about my favorite part from this musical, which is the understated reaction by Prince Achmed and his guards when Jasmine tells them that Prince Ali took down the Galloping Hordes. After all the frickin' inanity and scenery chewing, I love that slight eyebrow raise and shaking meant to portray confusion.

I like how the "why is everyone in the kingdom white?" line works on more than one level since the original movie also had an almost entirely white voice cast and production team, and the whole aesthetic has always basically just been an exoticized hodgepodge of MENA/South Asian cultures for Western audiences to gawk at. So, you know, it kinda feels like an appropriate dig at Disney for all that.
The entire musical is a dig at Disney but that one line digs the deepest

I think I finally have to admit to myself that in a show with several songs that can actually move me to tears, "No One Remembers Achmed" is still my favorite.

@@Kristiekins2 They need to learn about a little vodka mixed with water in a spray bottle. Spraying down costumes with that after a show helps kill some of the bacteria. It's not perfect but at least it keeps the smell manageable XD

ok so I watched this in an area where a lot of people are studying so when it got to THE moment I was a bit concerned because I find that line way funnier than I should and knew I couldn’t laugh out loud, but when it started played again in slo-mo in knew I was FUCKED and I nearly died from holding in my ugly cry-laughing, which is a pretty good way to go so great job on a killer video

The entire song “take off your clothes” is actually a reference to one of those Disney subliminal message controversies. Supposedly in one of the scenes with Princess Jasmine you can hear Aladdin say “Good teenagers, take off your clothes”.
That's what I was thinking about honestly.
Something that is so clever with twisted is that in Aladdin they have a villain sing a reprise to the protagonist's version of the song and with this they did the same thing with the Golden Rule
I would never be able to make this list. Twisted has the best soundtrack in the sense that I'm equally in love with all the songs. If I could listen to the soundtrack, there would be no songs I would skip because they are just so amazing
1001 nights is my favorite ever ever ever but i've been listening to that on repeat for like a week so it was nice to hear the other songs too 😅

I'm still not over No One Remembers Achmed. That will always be one of my favourite starkid songs for reasons I can't even explain. It's just perfect. Joe is perfect and Robert is perfect and they're all perfect. That's all.

My opinion:
1. Twisted (Biggest bomb of emotions, it's the "Defying Gravity" of this show. This song alone creates the character better than almost all Disney films. Not even questionable for me.)
2. Dream a Little Harder (Classic Starkid, perfect writing, perfect harmonies and perfect jokes. Lauren goddamnit XD. Rob and Alex are on the other level of delivery. I have no doubt on this as well.)
3. Golden Rule with reprise (I love the flow and the transition between good and evil. Joe nails the evil part.)
4. No One Remembers Achmed (Perfect singing by Joe, best delivery apart from the title number.)
5. Thousand and One Nights
6. Happy Ending
7. The Power In Me
8. If I Believed
I don't remember other songs that well to rank them, since I don't like them enough to listen to them outside of the show.

Honestly Twisted IS Wicked but that's also why it's so perfect. There's definitely a Dancing Through Life thing with I Steal Everything, Dream A Little Harder is basically Glinda in Popular, "I'll be treated like a hero all the citizens adore, they'll throw a parade in my honour" "someday there will be a celebration throughout Oz that's all to do with me", everyone in both kingdoms are white, Ja'far = Elphaba the unsung antiheros we deserve (also everyone just hates them both for their appearance when they aren't even ugly???), Boq trying to get to Glinda is JUST as creepy as Aladdin with Princess, Robert when he says "My skin is melting" HELLO??, The Power in Me aka For Good, Ja'far was reading Wicked at the beginning...I could go on lol but even on the official wiki it mentions it :P
Also the end of Twisted (the song) is 100% Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story. Does that make Aaron Burr Elphaba and Hamilton Glinda? O.o

I watched Twisted (first Starkid thing I ever watched) for the first time a few days ago and I knew it was gonna be hilarious from clips Id seen but I didn't expect it to give me so many feels, and I was shocked that they made Jasmine so good by the end. She got so much character growth!

I knew Twiswed was going 5o be number one. I mean the villains cameo, that Gaston monologue, the band just KILLING it in the opening and of course Dylan. I mean that is THE musical were I REALLY notice how DAMN TALINTED he is. I mean the number of ranges he goes through in Twisted and the ease that he does it with is INSANE. i like how the band decided to just pour their heart and soul into the song twisted. Like when Jafar said "how does the golden rule apply in such a situation?" the band just decided to put in some goofy sound effects perfectly in sync with his voice, no big deal. I get the feeling that specifically just for the song Twisted the band fused with their instruments.

Dylan had so many moving songs in this production, and in most of them he's crying like a single tear, maybe 2, but you can tell he's struggling not to cry as he is singing, yea, he deserves a Tony, all starkid actors do
