I never noticed how in let it out when Bill just kinda caresses Paul’s face and walks away, Paul reached for him bc that’s his buddy and held back when he remembered it wasn’t Bill anymore. So I’ll just be over here sobbing.
God damn it! The subtle acting touches make this musical EVERYTHING! In a video ranking how scared Paul is in every song, someone commented that he is braver in songs where he isn't alone, especially if Emma is there. His protective nature overrides his fear. Now in these videos I can't help but notice that he steps in between his friends and the aliens!

Couple of thoughts because this made me realize a lot of things
Jons performance in Let It Out is so underrated. Honestly the two personalities are so distinct and well defined like they even have their own different voices and that’s hard enough to do talking but while SINGING absolutely incredible
I never noticed the lil PaulXBill crumbs but they’re really sweet like I’m not your seed when they hold hands or in Let it Out when all the aliens are touching Paul he almost vomits and tries to make himself smaller but when Bill touches his face Paul actually reaches out for him too and like I don’t ship them but that shits cute
Inevitable is legit too upsetting for me to watch so I never watch it but honestly it’s pretty iconic if you can ignore the pain

What I love about Inevitable is that the audience laughs when Paul sings the first “Emmaaaa...”. He sounds like he’s joking around, making fun of what happened. But then some seconds go by, and we see that he really is possessed. I literally couldn’t believe it until the end. I really thought he was just pranking her and that broke my heart even more.
That’s what I thought when I first saw that! I thought it would be a funny part, and then he kept going, and I was surprised!

Screw Broadway. I prefer indy musicals, where these wonderfully talented people are free to be daring, do what they want, and have fun, to the polished, workshopped “products” of the mainstream entertainment industry. (this is not to say that the Starkids don’t deserve A LOT more money)

My personal theory for inevitable and the end of the musical.(Even though it isn't canon it makes me feel better) So my theory is that Emma is hallucinating all of inevitable. That Paul survived but still had a bit of spores in him and has a slightly singsongy voice. Leading Emma to assume the worst, and her, pardon the pun, inevitable ptsd gave her hallucinations. And Paul is trying to calm her down, to Emma his attempts are totally different. Everyone else is actually just hospital staff trying to calm her down, with the end them just tackling her. So that's my theory everything turns out alright for the 2 of them in the end it's all fine.

The audience adds so much to the performance overall, but their reaction to the ending just absolutely drives that scene home.

Personally i just like that song because its such a clever inclusion in this show, since the show as a whole plays on musical theatre tropes and this is the aliens' attempt to get Paul to sing a classic "I Want" song (see: Part of Your World, Once Upon a Dream, etc). Since professor Higgins (hidgens?) willingly joins them this way, it means they were trying to get him to join the ranks without necessarily killing him, which is also clever and subtle when youre so focused on the crackhead energy jeff is giving off.
In other words: a gay thirsting over the cast.

Not Your Seed is 100% my top song from the show. It’s so emotional and it just shows how emotionally manipulative the aliens can be. Also Mariah is insanely talented and her voice sends shivers down my spine.
