Yes, it’s the same group that wrote “Ouch, My Butt”. And also “Me and My Dick”, “Flight of the Pussies”, and several others. I mean, they made a coming of age story musical that was basically entirely sex jokes. Im fine with that, it’s raunchy fun. But they *aren’t* a group for children; at least that was part of the thought process behind making this show right after AVPM.

"Not your seed" kind of feels like it stands out in the story because it feels like the aliens would have no reason to torture Bill since the aliens tend to try to lure them in. BUT. I think the case could be made that in the same meta way that the hivemind knows Paul is the main character, they know that the musical needs a tearjerker/emotional lowpoint and emotionally torture Bill for that reason only.
