This is helpful. I’m 3 weeks post op and I can’t even fit my clothes because of the swelling. I have been really getting depressed over this

Can u get a tummy tuck or kipo with history of afib but not on blood thinners. Only go into afib maybe once or twice a yr

Thanks Dr.! Straight forward and informative. Today I'm 5 weeks post op. When I woke up I was the flatest I've been. Within an hour I was swelling. 😂🤣😂. Glad I opted to do in the fall. Definitely a roller coaster but even with the swelling I look and feel better overall than I did before. Glad I made this investment in myself.
Thank you for your video. I’ll be 2 months post on the 10th and I’ve been on an emotional roller about my swelling. One day I feel I’m fine it’s going down. Next couple days, I feel I’m too swollen. I see others and it looks as if their swelling is improving faster than mines. I’m just all over the place. I don’t need to keep watching videos after this one. Your video actually popped up first.
the best thing you can do is to not compare your journey to other people's journeys, everyones journey is unique. Also, so important to trust the process
@T.'Ray Are you OK now? I'm on the same emotional rollercoaster now. 3 weeks post op and I feel kind of fat with all the bulges and no waistline. I felt so down today fearing my tummytuck wasn't a succes. I didn't have a flat tummy after operation too. I feel so disappointed right now. I don't see much of a difference in those past 3 weeks.

@@Raec123 Very unhappy. My stomach is like a balloon 6 months post op. When I was pregnant I looked like this at 5-6 months. 21th of April I have a correctional operation. He did a breast reduction too. I wanted 3 sizes smaller and it's just one size. What a disappointment. I'll have to go through all the pain and discomfort for the second time.

@@Im.ella.luv. I am doing great! My stomach is still swollen but only at 20%. My results are good but I still got my back rolls :/ other then that I look snatched!
@@hackedemailyouvedoneenough8707 scarring is hard to predict - it really depends on your scar care as well. I have people do a number of things in the post surgical period to optimize scarring. Thus, many of my patients end up with thin scars. Individuals can began working out at 3 weeks.

This video helped alot ! I am 9 weeks post op and have so much swelling especially at night , this depresses me but i guess i have to be patient , but it is a roller coaster , some days im soo flat and other days i look like a balloon 😅😅, thank you for the info ❤

@@msrislammylife No. it’s crazy how your body is definitely shaped differently but you still weigh the same. 🤦🏿♀️. However I am down 40lbs now. I had my Dr prescribe me Phentermine appetite suppressant because as my swelling went down on my waist my butt looked HUGE! 🤦🏿♀️. I didn’t get my butt done. It’s just always been big. I hate it.

I am 3 months post-op and I look 4 months pregnant. The nursing staff said it would be 6-8 weeks. I paid this Surgeon lots of money and they can't even call me back..thanks for the information
Sorry for your experience with your surgeon. I always tell my patients they will never feel abandoned because not only do they have my personal number, they have my nurses number and regular follow up.

Swelling does last for a very long time .. maybe 8 months to a year.. but definitely a long time.. I’m 6 months post op and still have about 25 percent swelling..

I was super flat after surgery until 6 months now I'm 12 months post op I'm still swollen in my upper abdomen

I finally found a video that helps me with my process. I am very sad, my dream is to have my abdomen flat, I have almost 4 months of my TT and liposculpture but I do not like the way I look, I still have a lot of abdomen, when I take off the girdle they hurt. Is it possible that later on I will see better?

It is possible - full results are at 6
Months to one year. It all takes so much time. Of course definitely reach out to your surgeon for questions and assurance - I do this with my patients to coach them through the process. ❤️

I can’t fit my normal clothes 4 days post op.
I just had a full TT with muscle repair. I was a fit size 6 before, very low body fat and no lipo needed. But now my swelling is insane. My hips are swollen, my inner thighs and belly. My shape is altered. I was an athletic figure and now I am an hour glass and curvy. I hate it.
I gained 3.5 inches in my hips from day of surgery.
Its almost cartoonish. It’s so depressing. Will I be able to wear my normal size after two weeks? Or do I have to wait 2-3 months? Thanks again
I’m glad you found it helpful. Swelling is expected but I can’t comment further on your individual situation, I am a board certified plastic surgeon, but I am not your plastic surgeon and thus can’t really give you specific advice. I would recommend any specific questions about your recovery be directed to your specific plastic surgeon. I’m sure that as I do with my own surgical patients, they would want to know your concerns and provide you with the reassurance/advice you need. I wish you well as you recover!
Your diet has a lot to do with you swelling, stay away form stuff the contains salt

I am 11 weeks post op from a panniculectomy and I am still swollen and it is messing with me! My stomach looks so round on the bottom.
I always say to talk to your surgeon about your concerns if anything just for the reassurance and the encouragement :)

Im 4 weeks out. Finally swelling starting to go down. Waiting for the rest if the scabs to fall off. Have any if you felt like your but just disappeared? I swear my but vanished after surgery.

best to direct questions about the waistband to your plastic surgeon. I have a specific protocol for my patients in terms of garments as Im sure most plastic surgeons do.

I had a tt 18 days ago with lipo on flanks but i dont have no bruises by flank area is that normal or they didnt do no lipo workthere?? Since im not bruised
I am a month post Op tummy tuck and I still have a lot of swelling...and NUMBNESS. How long does numbness last??? Also over the weekend I was in a lot of pain because one area of my abdomen felt like I had a Charlie horse like i had pulled muscle....very painful. Do you have an idea why that may be????
Hello - numbness can last months up to a year and longer. In some rare cases it doesn’t return to normal especially in the skin under the belly button. I am not sure could be a muscle spasm but always check with your surgeon for specific questions like that and for reassurance

I cannot find any answers to swelling or thighs and hips becoming larger after tummy tuck/lipo with muscle repair. I am 2 months out and my hips and legs are larger despite drinking loads of water and eating well and monitoring calories, exercising & cooking with no salt. No one seems to know why this is. Please can you shed some light on this if you have a theory?

hi there. Tummy tuck and lipo is a controlled "injury" to your lymphatic system, which usually drains fluid. As those rebuild, swelling builds up in the more gravity dependent areas because the channels that usually would drain these - especially the venous outflow tract are swollen and rebuilding. It is the same reason why if you have thigh surgery your feet get very swollen. Of course monitor this, and = if it doesnt improve definitely always mention all concerns to your surgeon. I hope this helps.

Can anything help this process. I am 3 weeks out from TT with lipo and the swelling in my thighs is increasing. My surgeon says there's nothing he can do for me and he doesn't know why swelling would be so bad in only my thighs. My thighs look like I weigh 200+ pounds. Could over doing it make this worse?
@@alyssaatwood989 it’s frustrating but please don’t worry. It took absolutely ages for this to subside. I drank lots of water was eating clean … nothing and my surgeon and people who had the surgery didn’t know what I was talking about! I don’t know why it happened and I can tell you there’s nothing you can do but wait. It took around 3 months to go away for me. It’s a long time but I began to think I was stuck with that shape so although it took a while it will just go back to normal. I’m your case it may be less time but at least you know it is not a permanent issue! You will be happy on the end I promise!
In 1.5 months it will be a year since I’ve had my TT with lipo.. I swell if my faja isn’t on.. is this normal?
I'm so co fused because I feel that after three months I loved my tt results my Tummy was just about flat and I thought it would stay that way but then as the months progress I have a bit of a small popped lower Tummy. I'm 7 mo now and I'm still numb and I feel like there is still swelling but I'm not sure
are you sure it isn’t a seroma? did it resolve?
@Jay Uhoo nope. Now I feel I have internal scar tissue. I can get a revision to get it removed but they told me it's not a guarantee that it won't happen again. I'm going to try scar tissue therapy
I think we as women have to understand that hormones will always play a factor in our anatomy. It doesnt stop after the tummy tuck unfortunately. 😢

Hi :). Yes you can depends on the surgeon and preferences but I do tummy tucks at the same time as hysterectomies for example
I had that done..removal of fibroids and a panniculectomy with repair of my abdomen muscles like a tummy tuck which my belly button was repaired in addition

Numbness is usually in the skin under the belly button and can take a year or even longer - in some cases it doesn’t come back.
