I’ve been instructed to use compression to help the swelling since day one; I’m on day 7. I couldn’t imagine the muscles having to hold me up without it.
@@karenperry2730 I've heard some doctors on RUclips say "no garmet/compression" after tummy tuck. I follow my doctors orders and am wearing one right now.
I’ve never heard anyone say not to wear compression garments?!?!? I’ve had 2 tummy tucks plus Liposuction ( I’m 2 weeks post op now) and can’t imagine not wearing it? Please explain why you advise more in depth why you advise that.. thank you
@@chiqueme2820 thanks for your input, since you didn't wear a garment, are you very happy with the results? thanks for sharing. I"m having mine done soon
Some surgeons use garments and some do not. Neither is wrong. It is surgeon preference. In our office, we use them for liposuction, but not for abdominoplasty.
So almost no plastic surgeons here on RUclips talks about the complications where the Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve is damaged do to a tummy tuck surgery. I am 2 weeks post op, and on gabapentin because I have so much nerve pain in my right thigh. Can anything be done about that? Got my surgery in Lithuania.
This particular video is meant to let patients know what to expect during recovery. The risks of surgery are covered during the informed consent process which is at your pre-op visit 3 weeks before your procedure.
Absolutely follow your surgeons instructions. We recommend lymphatic drainage massage 1 day after liposuction and 2-3 days after tummy tuck procedures.
You're gonna have to use pads and granny panties... my surgery is next week and I thought I was gonna be on mine but luckily I just got it this morning so I won't be .. but def gonna be a pain having to deal with a period while going thru this.. I didn't put into consideration my cycle when booking it lol
@@barbeeshayknight1976 im glad.mine came 6 days before..cause after the surgery I was in so much pain dealing with the surgery can't imagine adding my period ontop of it..surgery alone is tsxing enough on ur body..also a raised toilet seat was one of my best purchases in my life ... best thing ever ..highly recommended!!!
We include Exparel with every abdominoplasty procedure. It is broken down on the proposal, so you will see the $500 charge as part of your total cost for the procedure.
I got my lipo+ tummy tuck i must say the healing has been brutal for in a way that i couldn’t wear a garment full day I sleep naked still😫 I’m getting better but yoh horrible experience
So sorry to hear your experience was brutal. We recommend lymphatic drainage massage starting just a few days after tummy tuck. This can help with swelling and speed up recovery.
I did breast reduction, 360 lipo and tummy tuck, first day I felt like death. Stayed in hospital for two nights. I’m 2weeks post surgery and I see the changes already despite the swelling. Massages are really helpful. In South Africa you shower 2 weeks post op. Until then sink is your reality
Ok so now make a video of all the negative.. the nitty gritty cause this seems to be a glorified version of what actually happens.. almost like an infomercial lol... give us the bad and ugly

I agree! I’m 2 weeks post op. I’ve never heard anyone advise not to use compression garments.
Good luck on your recovery!!
I too am wearing compression garmet. Doctors are of opposing oppinions on RUclips, but I follow my doctors orders.

I’m 3 weeks post op and my doctor doesn’t recommend it either. Blood clots like dye said in this video.
First I heard of this too.. going in for mommy makeover next week and any research I did not one person said no garments? Odd

Yikes two? I can’t imagine going through that twice.

They don’t talk about the nasty side of these surgeries because they need customers to make their money.
Of course they don't, they want your money.
Any surgery has a risk of complications, even broken finger
While we have not seen this particular complication, nerve damage is usually temporary and will resolve with time.

No compression after surgery? This worries me because my doctor uses fajas.

Everything she said should make you not want this deadly procedure. It's not worth it....
Why do you say that?
It's 100% worth it. Best thing I ever did. Not everyone is as easily scared as you.
It’s the best thing i have ever done
