I’ve been instructed to use compression to help the swelling since day one; I’m on day 7. I couldn’t imagine the muscles having to hold me up without it.

Some surgeons use garments and some do not. Neither is wrong. It is surgeon preference. In our office, we use them for liposuction, but not for abdominoplasty.

So almost no plastic surgeons here on RUclips talks about the complications where the Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve is damaged do to a tummy tuck surgery. I am 2 weeks post op, and on gabapentin because I have so much nerve pain in my right thigh. Can anything be done about that? Got my surgery in Lithuania.

    • @violetta6280

    • @millardplasticsurgery

While we have not seen this particular complication, nerve damage is usually temporary and will resolve with time.

This particular video is meant to let patients know what to expect during recovery. The risks of surgery are covered during the informed consent process which is at your pre-op visit 3 weeks before your procedure.
