Had RNY 10 days ago. I have had zero pain and zero nausea. I’m not hungry but I’m having no issue at all getting my fluids in. It’s been a breeze so far.

Walking and a heating pad applied to the abdomen can help. The heating pad helps with the gas pain and also if you feel crampy the heating pad will relax the abdominal muscles and muscles of the bowel walls to help some. Also put a pillow under the backs of your knees while resting. That way the abdominal muscles can totally relax and arnt being tugged on by the weight of the legs.

I remember when I went in for cosmetic surgery and coming down from the anesthesia I had a sore throat! I wish I would have been aware that was a side affect of the breathing tube. Because it took almost 2 weeks even with taking pain meds to gel better

The left side pain is due to internal stitches holding your muscles together to prevent hernias. :) I learned that from my surgeon when I complained about pain in that area. I felt when they popped and the pain was immediately gone.

I had surgery 10 days ago. No pain, no heartburn, no nauseousness. Only felt the site where the stomache was removed. Now it just itches. I think I should have been the poster child for this. I have lost 16 pounds so far. Missing food terribly.

Thanks for keeping this video under 10mins. So many videos about gastic surgery and the person has a 30min video that could be said in under 10mins. Thanks for the info. Why the bypass vs switch or VSG for you? It seems most doctors are getting away from bypass unless you have major acid reflux that it solves.

Hello I had my surgery on 10/26/22. The only problems I have experienced is I’m cold 🥶 all the time and fatigue more. I live here in the south where it takes a long time before we really get cold weather. I knew about the tiredness after surgery but not hearing about being cold. I’m a very hot nature person before I had surgery. Another thing is I’m I the only one finding the liquid post-opt diet is torture?!

At almost 2 years out, I can tell you I am STILL freezing all the time now. I live in Canada, so for about 25 years I was used to the winter months being harsh, but now every season brings its own challenges by way of regulating my body temperature. 😂 I would rather be cold and bundled up than hot and in shorts and a tank top though, like I used to be!! Congratulations on your surgery, hope all is going well! 🥰❤️

Angela Butler did you have your surgery around 10/26/22? My name is Arnita and I had my surgery on 10/26/22 I’m absolutely glad I had it, the only thing I do not like is the stages of eating we have to go through. Have you been going through any dislikes? I can’t stands certain smells of food or the taste of. The only thing I been able to keep down is protein shakes and greek yogurt.

It’s very difficult in the early stages. Trying to find the balance is also really confusing, and overwhelming at the beginning! You will get there. 🥰 Just try your best to track what you’re taking in, so that way you can see how much you need to up your protein and water intake. Make it a little challenge each day to get more in than the day before, even if it’s just 1 gram, or once ounce! ❤️ You’ve got this!
