*If you pull the fuel pump relay, turn the motor over for a few seconds the pressure is released through the injectors. Fast and no gas spray outside the rail. (Just less mess)

you didnt get the clip back on correctly or its backwards

That clip was screwing with me but it looks like the problem is fixed.
