I am looking to buy my first still. I like the construction on the "football" style but was unsure because I want the option of a thumper. Is the attachment you used in this video available for purchase? Is it plug and play with a "football" still or will I have to finish or modify the attachment? Where can I purchase one?
Hey guy's I ordered the thumper jar for the vevor 18.5 gallon football still.I was thinking about ordering the 5 gallon worm.Does the 5 gallon worm come with the connections I would need to connect to the column like at 6:31 Also can you provide a link to a thermometer that would take the place of Vevors Celcius Thermometor in Fareheight...Thanks guys.
I bought one 2 years ago. Cancel your order. It's cheap and makes the alcohol taste nasty. I had to replace the football and order the Cooper reflux pot column I ended up replacing the pot with the milk jug still from mile hi with the fittings
@@danielgodfrey4415 I already have the thumper, I havent ran it yet. Was curious about the fittings from the worm to the thumper. I don't know about cheap,Its no work of art and is made out of copper I would assume copper is copper...I havent even made a run yet and already have an 8 gallon pot from olympic with an element lol
I don't understand the purpose of having the original football column in this setup. Is it filled with balls/mesh to increase ABV? Otherwise a simple 90-degree Tri-clamp pipe would do the same thing. Why make your own condenser/cooler instead of using Vevor's original?
What are you using to heat the still with? It looks like you're using gas. Are you using something to protect the bottom of the pot? The metal seems thin to me and could burn easily. Thanks in advance!
So your drip was more like steady stream and i always here several folks saying just a steady drip is better so my question is does that affect the flavor or the amount of alcohol that you would get when finished? I’m all ears and just trying to see why you do it your way.. Thanks
You can slow to a drip and raise your proof a little bit but your run is going to take 2-3 times as long. I suggest you try both ways and see what you like the best
I've experimented for testing with both ways on my small 8 gallon Vevor rig. Results: 2 to 5 proof drop across the run, varied by mash used. The flavor difference is more noticeable if you have a complex bunch of stuff for flavor in the thumper, simple bit of mash in the thumper and none of my friends or me has noticed a real difference in the taste.
I have the vevor 50l football still i just mashed in for the first time ever 4 days ago, but I’ve been looking for a thumper and I love the solid construction of yours it looks great. But the big question is would you ship to the UK?
Why do you dip the jar in the bucket when you already had it in the jar and also I don’t think you scooped it out of the bucket because your hand came out dry and also when I took a screenshot and zoomed in your jar was already full.
I got one of you jar upgrades for my 13 gal football. I was wondering... Does the jar fill up and need to be emptied at any point? Cant wait to use it. Great products!
If you’re running too fast it’ll fill up quickly, slow fillage is normal. Also running too slow will make it fill up fast. Yes you can remove the jar a empty mid run
What size tri-clamp for that vevor football column? I tried to caliper measure mine and I think it’s 2.5” tri clamp, but that is such an odd size to reduce to 1/2” copper pipe.
I apologize, should have read the comments. I see you confirmed the Vevor is 2.5”. I just need to find an appropriate tri-clamp adapter to smaller copper.
Great video big easy!! Lot of good stuff to know!!
remember that the valve ontop of the football is for venting off the head. you can smell when it starts to clear up.
Total pro-tip suggesting the xboxs! What about old computer cases or play stations?
They don’t have the same taste as Xbox 360’s
I wanna see a 20 jar thump jar set up.
Why did you tape the thred's on a compression fitting?

Have you ever run a nuwave induction plate to control the temp precisely?

It’s an inside joke I have with a few people.
@@Invictus13666 I do like to rustle sheep tho
If we buy the single thumper jar set up , does it hook up to your 5 gal condenser or do we need more parts?
It hooks up if you buy the vevor bucket worm
