      I never typically comment on these but that idle unit hotkey is the most fantastic addition outside of grounding air units.

    The idle unit mechanic is probably the most helpful of them all, it basically happens every match that i just forget certain units

      Time slow/stop on ability use is generally something that makes using abilities much more efficient in a hectic environment in any game, so I strongly support this change.

      Y in campaign but if u get used to it will be your downfall in Multiplayer where it will be 100% disabled

    Idle unit hot key? Flying units that can land at will? GENIUS!
    All they need to do now is add a Hotseat mode, and all my dreams for this franchise will have been realized.

      @@FilipMoncrief It’s a mode that lets you control multiple factions from one computer. The older Total War games had this feature, like Medieval 2 and Rome 1.
      It allowed for things like local coop.

      @@2veki Typically either one player controls both armies, or the army of the player who’s turn it is not gets controlled by an AI.

      @@gretje2896 flying units don't currently run as fast as they fly and will be unlikely they'd change that. 110, 120 ground speed not buffed would be broken

    Awesome updates, I just wish you would add a “mop up” button that when you win your battle tells all your units to ride down the closest retreating enemy unit

    Great job with this, really nice. If I could offer some constructive feedback, it would be nice if "braced" units had animations for their braced stance so that they dont look like they are idle. Braced means ready to take a charge, but if you look at a unit in warhammer total war that is braced, it looks like its just standing, chilling, until the very last second where the enemy charges then the braced unit has an animated reaction.

      I think that was the purpose of the brace indicator above the units card at the bottom of the screen, so all you have to do to check if a unit is braced is highlight it and look for the indicator.

      In older games I think units entered a braced animation when they were somewhat near the enemy (roughly in archer range) so if they expanded the proximity at which the brace animation triggers that would do the trick

      Warhammer has too many units, giving over a 100+ units brace animations would be a huge amount of work. And you can't make humans brace looks the same as Orks or Skaven.

      They already do this in warhammer they brace when an enemy unit is within Bow/any ranged weapon range for example shield units with brace their shields and spears etc however with the amounts of units for all the races it would be a massive task

      it really is really a giant buff to flying melee units, one of the biggest weakened of flyers is how they can struggle with routing units, with this they should be able to properly run down units effectively

    I know “lazy health bars” are a useful mechanic, but when I heard the narrator say that in his voice, my first thoughts were

    honestly, the idle unit hotkey is so excellent for me. i tend to forget alot of the units in big battles, especially recently rallied ones

    Starts well but there are more changes WE need...
    That Units on the second line on Walls can choose in which direction they Look , so u can use the second battle Line...
    Would be a nice Option

    Thank you for all these changes! 😊 Can we also have longer battles? I love the warhammer series but the battles can sometimes happen so fast. The units are defeated or broken so quickly that I cant stop and appreciate the fight like in Rome 2 or Attilla, or like medieval 2. I like watching my units fight and to really take in the battle. Hope you guys do this. Cant wait for warhammer 3. 😊

    1:04 I can't help but laugh at how goofy that sudden stop in the charge was when they slammed into a spaced out group of infantry. If it was a shieldwall sure, but they're just standing there like it's nothing lol

    now if you could open up the coop mode for more than 2 players and reintroduce the ability to burn houses and forrests (like in attilla and Three Kingdoms) now THAT would make me very happy.

    These seem like some great features! I like the 'lazy' health bars.
    I wonder if they're adding tall grass and mud like they did in Troy?
    I also hope they add unit formations: line, spread, V, box.

    With unit flyings being able to land, all they need to add is a dismount option for non-flying cavalry, so armies with mostly cavalry can have a better chance at sieging too.

    Now fix it so that when flying units take to the air again, if a straggler is caught and unable to lift up you won't have to micro the unit until the straggler is dead.
    So tired of vargheists and other flying units being completely sacrificed due to a single straggler not being able to go up in the air again, forcing the whole unit down on the ground to die with the straggler.

      Well for air they did fix that, the unit has to be out of combat for several seconds before it can take to the air again.

      Unit needs to be out of harm's way for several seconds before you can even toggle on flight mode, so they will work more like ground cav now.

    Unmounting your troops would be also a great enhancement. Specially after we all know that your devs know how to do it CA, and i believe they know it since TW:Empire(and damn i miss those cool naval battles).

    I'm liking that you can land units now. Before, there were times when I really wanted to bring a flying lord but couldn't take the risk because the opponent might have Tempest and would just snipe me. This change probably makes flying monsters and lords a more viable choice for factions that can't really support their own airborne units.

      @@MaledictGaming true but they did say they were getting a rework for game three. For example they did reveal in one of the tzeentch blogs that warriors of chaos can occupy cities now. I was thinking that they would show them off when they revealed th 9th legendary lord...who I'm assuming is belakor at this point.

      @@azazelnoise6561 Still hope so. Who knows maybe the last LL will have all the mortal champions + the old WoC roster mixed in. And WoC (whille unplayble) will recieve some updates, like being able to occupy settlements.

    I think everyone can agree that we've had battles where we could have had lower losses if we knew there were a few idle units around

    I wish you could toggle maximum army sizes. If you could set the maximum at say 10 (rather than 20) units, battles could be quick and dirty, and you wouldn't have to auto-complete so much.

    I know this was for Battles, but for campaigns I have a simple wish: Before ending a turn offer to check boxes of those factions you want to see the respective turns of. Everybody else just gets fast forwarded. Doing this manually is a huge pain...

    nice really.i like the effect of this slow-motion spell. i hope u reduce the number of clickable skills on the screen and give the player more time to focus on battle. maybe use the auto-trigger option or make then passive

    Main thing I like is how the banner of a unit becomes more ragged and damaged the more damage the unit has taken
    adds some theme and might be useful to show how damaged and close to defeat a unit is in cinematic mode

    The idle unit hotkey will come in clutch!
    The lazy health bar, the braced unit indicator and the highlighting of concealed units sound neat too, more help to track units and their situation.

    Great updates. Any chance you can add a unit toggle to be AI controlled? One of my biggest wish in this game is that i can choose most of my army to be AI controlled so i can focus on skirmishing etc. I dont care if its in multiplayer, but it would be lovley in the campaign at least! :)

    Braced icon and lazy health bar are cool. Idle unit button is great for huge battles where you control two armies and lose track. Spell slo-mo is not really needed, but it's still super cool for people who want to watch the carnage in slow motion. Game is looking great so far!

    This is exactly what I want to see for a 3rd iteration of the game. Will there be a campaign QoL as well? The biggest thing to me would be allowing multiple players to que up there actions in coop campaign so one player isn't just waiting the whole time before they can do anything

    There's an idea I had in this category: can artillery units have a toggle for level of concern about friendly fire? There are situations where you want to risk hitting your own side (because the enemy will easily kill your artillery if they break your line, for example), and situations where you don't want to chance FF at all (like firing artillery at a broken enemy running away). Each artillery unit would have 3 settings: Danger Close (fire as long as you think you'll do more damage to them than us), Fire for Effect (fire as long as risk of hitting friendlies is small), and Range Safety (do not fire if there is any chance whatsoever of hitting friendly units). You could then easily switch your artillery to Range Safety at victory's end and not have to worry about killing your own troops with fire at will while shooting at the fleeing foe.

    Flying units being able to ground themselves is amazing. Imagine as vampire counts, no longer picking a single flying lord is going to be risky vs Brettonia anymore. 😬

    you need to add a warning signal for when your lord is getting melted! Cant believe how many times I look away for just a second only for him to get melted by some op unit I was not aware of and dies.

    Good changes, really hope you have reinforcement and composition selection for large armies as well as the rally flag from S2 again. Otherwise it becomes pot luck what units you field when you outnumber the enemy past 20

    good job! absolutely fantastic, l love the fact that u made it optional to have the slow-motion on or of because it makes it a lot easier and some may or may not want it. Everything else is also super good, l especially love the forest changes.

      You can pick where reinforcements come from in WH3!
      But the further you move the marker from the original placement, the more time it will take for the army to arrive. They mentioned it in a blog some time ago
