As a player who loves gunpowder more than anything, this DLC is a dream come true. Ikit and Chorfs have been consistently the most fun I’ve had in campaigns, Empire here we come
I wonder if Elspeth has her own 'nuke missile'? If so, then she is going to be really popular.

At this point Imrik is just running back and forth from Cathay to Naggarond and picking up as many dragons as he can on the way

@@metalmoviephilosopher7744 And in tabletop, dragons couldn't attack him unless he would attack them. This includes Galrauch and his OPPLZNERF Breathe of Change.
Would've been interesting to see him getting a Chaos Dragon into his army.
And Imrik have to come back from Cathay to get/see Carmine Dragon... ( yes Tarriff, I am looking in your way^^).
The Amethyst Units look so badass. This DLC looks better and better every day

I only hope we will be able to field more than 4-6 units, compared to Tamurkhan whose Warchiefs have 'limit pop's on their units...

As Elspeth had been around for a long time without seemingly aging, she was mistakenly assumed to be a vampire by the suspicious Witch Hunters.
Yes, and we all know how it went. Also she never came when Gelt called for her as supreme patriarch. This shows how powerfull she is, ignoring even the highest posstions within empire without concequncies.

I really like the direction taken with Elspeth's part of this. She has the crown that basically lets you choose if you want to do a run with allies and diplomacy, or if you want to sweep across the world, and the Empire finally has the extra firearm unit variety it has been needing. This is looking to be a truly amazing DLC and I cannot wait to play as Elspeth von Draken.
Well, everyone has the crown. In the showcase they word it as if only Elspeth does, but it's a mechanic that anyone can use.

Elspeth is one of the empire’s greatest heroes but she’s unscrupulous. When she commanded Theodore Bruckner to kill Tamurkhan she was effectively sending him to die. Somehow she knew that Tamurkhan could possess a new host but instead of warning Bruckner she gave him an amulet that would protect him from dark magic but it’s true purpose was to incinerate him when the possession process began.
Well it did protect him from dark magic
Whoever is doing the editing on these videos has got some skill. These are great.

MUSIC choice will always make a battle feel 1000 times better. Great pick of music in the battle. I have not got this excited or felt a since of chills and wow like I did with this video since Warhammer 1.

She didn't have much choice actually. There is no single entity on the enemy's army and the only other option is to use Aspect of the Dread Knight which is basically useless here.
If you want to see an actually EGREGIOUS choice of spell, @Mandalore9999 is absolutely right: Fate of Bjuna on Drycha at 11:57 is an egregiously bad choice.
The dlc is looking great but i want to give special praise to your guys video content at the moment.
They are editied so well and do a great job of weaving a narrative thread through a well thought out showcase.
I have no doubt this will be the best Warhammer DLC of all time. So much content and quality!

Tamurkhan has access to limited variety of troops and this fun. However, Elspeth Gunnery School and Amethyst Armoury are top notch fun!

I'd say it's almost guaranteed at this point. It's such a major part of the Empire that's missing.

Bruckner has such Chad on foot animations. That sword point is just badass.

Opinion: This game is going to need a unique interaction where, if Feast of the Maggot Lord kills Theodor Bruckner whilst he has the Balefire Amulet equipped, it should fail to resurrect Tamurkhan and just cause him to die. I mean, that's what the Amulet is for, really.
"Theodore is also the only character mounted on a demigryph" is utterly mind boggling.
Everyone wants demigryph for empire generals and it would be such a W in making these bland lords stand out more.
This should've been a no brainer.
Yeah, it's as if CA has a list of "things people actually want" so they know what to avoid making.
But generals have actual gryphs

@@robinbugge4240 it can also be GW coming in and basically saying "No, you can't do that", which i imagine in this situation it is a GW thing, like with the beaks on the Tzaangors (which they weren't allowed beaks because GW said no)
The build-up for this DLC is really reminding me how much we need built-in mini-campaigns with smaller maps and limited units.
The prologue for 3 is really fun, imo, and allows for the kind of really specific story that Immortal Empires is kind of missing. and this DLC seems perfect for that exact thing.
This is looking like the best update in a LONG time. Long live creepy lady!

Seeing the combination of magic and artillery I think Elspeth knows about the checklist and is expanding it.
Malakai Makaisson is who I wanted to play the most but after seeing the showcase for Tamurkhan and Elspeth von Draken I don't know they are all so awesome! And a rework to make others even better oh my who do I pick?!?!?!

@@Garret007 we already have hippogryph, Deathwing is a hippogryph, given to Karl as an egg by the Wood Elves when they saved him. Same for other Empire generals and Todd Bringer. Even Beast Wizards have hippogryph mount.
For the dragon, Karl did ride it, and he's the only one can actual do so. The Imperial Dragon is the size of a Moon Dragon iirc.
Elspeths mechanics might actually entice me enough to play the Empire for the first time. 😅

The new units look great especially the amethyst units, handgunners in full plate armor, just awesome.
Really? I was only disappointed with the Ironsides . Everything else was awesome. I was hoping to get the volley guns with BAYONETS from the trailer , remove the swords we've advanced further . It's a spear combined with a firearm the two most deadly and common weapons. Plus they already exist in game and in the lore . I was hoping for a 120 upgraded free company sport of deal that have spearmen stats . Halberds faze out spears in game , bayonets should faze out halberds once you get further
Spearmen and handgunner stats added together. That way we also have a faze out for handgunner s late game

@@markosimunic4770 I know it's Greenskins trailer music I realise that, but that's CA always putting promotional material in gameplays.
The first one that plays when Elepeth joins the battle is the music from the dwarf faction intro that you could watch in WH1.
The other one closer to the end is the Grimgor Ironhide character trailer from WH1.
The graphics update on the units looks awesome. Beards are now beards its seems like. I really loved the editing with the ship. :D

Elspeth confederating Gelt will provide some silly combos because Gelt buffs the explosion radius of hellstorms

I can only imagine the amount of effort that went into creating a scenario where Vlad was killed by a mortar shot.
The upgrades to helstorm rocket batteries are fun. From "More Rockets" to "More Rockets!!" to "MORE ROCKETS!!!". Makes total sence and makes me happy.

I would like to formally say thank you to CA for giving us amazing artillery and gunpowder units for The Empire & Dwarfs and even going as far as giving us a new nurgle units as target practice.
Hopefully Cathay receives this level of update in the future. At least Miao Ying and Zhao Ming having their own unique mechanics. Still waiting for the 2 other dragon children.
